I agree STRONGLY. It's the little mannerisms and details of the early Pam that make me buy into her as a character. In the last couple seasons of the show, they really shafted Pam; they didn't give her enough space to be the same Pam she was, but instead made her character shallow and her lines cliche. I rather have real laugh from actors on a COMEDY show (comedy supposed to be funny and accompanied with laugh) than straight faces or whats worse, fake laugh track added after.
Right! He wasn’t supposed to stab the scissors in, but decided to and then shocked the hell out of himself and about died when Rainn hit the floor. You can see that he didn’t know whether to run or help Rainn. Lol John was genius in this show.
@@urban_fox4658 no, he was supposed to stab it, just not in the seam. Stabbing it anywhere else would cause it to slowly deflate, which was the intended effect
Fun fact: Jim was supposed to hit the fitness ball with scissors and Dwight was meant to slowly descend as it deflated. You can see Jim jump back in shock 0:25
Yeah they discussed it on Office Ladies. In all the takes before this one the ball had slowly deflated; on this last take John hit a seem or something and the ball exploded. His jump back is for real.
Forgot about when Michael kisses Oscar, you can see Phyllis looking at Pam shocked and give a quick laugh about what happened, as they said before that wasn't scripted and everyone's reaction was genuine
I've heard that the reason John laughs when popping the exercise ball was because in all the previous takes, the ball simply deflated slowly. But when they did this take, it popped and nobody was prepared for it.
it amazes me how this show was ever even finished because acting in it just seems like one of those jokes or stories you try to tell people, but it’s so funny you can’t say it without dying of laughter 😭😭☠️
Fun fact about 1:30 ! If you listen to the Office Ladies Podcast, they’ll tell you exactly why John broke. It was because that exercise ball was NOT supposed to pop like that. They had tested the exercise balls multiple times before this take, and each time it just simply deflated. This scene was not meant to happen, and the camera crew was so skilled that they zoomed in just enough to capture the moment and intentionally avoid John’s reaction!
There was a really tiny but funny one they didn't include here. Season 1 Episode 3, "Health Care", Michael gets up from his desk and tells the cameraman to go with him for "operation surprise". Pam asks him where he's going, and he says "out, part of my busy day. Meetings...." and he then reaches for the door handle and can't find it. He actually laughs and says to Pam "I couldn't find the doorknob!". I caught it after about 10 watches.
