    Lemmo's left hand gets all the attention, but look at the right one go. Perfect up/down strumming while only hitting the notes he needs. Damn Immigrant Song always undoes me...

    I love when these '50s Les Paul's come in, you're looking at a piece of history, someone loved that guitar. Also, this is the first episode I've ever heard the rover played. Nice!

    Whoa , that thing was over heating , sizzlin baby , hard to believe a 54 LP kicks harder than most anything from today , did they even do heavy metal back then? , but yet they had the guitar , luv the P90's , when they cook , they open doors and minds . The wood on the back and neck is spectacular , 65 years young , over the top , and Lemmo sure knows how to channel Jimmy Page , outstanding , thanks guys.

    Hey as my favorite guitar player, is there a perceived difference to you as a player between dog eared P 90’s and P 90’s like these? Is there a physical difference other than how they mount? I’ve never heard you play anything with dog ear P 90’s????
    Are you ever going to tour now that you have a billion people like me that would show up? Joe could open for you! (kidding)
    You could ACTUALLY take the Rare Guitar Show on the road like the “Antique Road Show” followed by a concert with locals in each town. Maybe even an auction???
    Geez, can you imagine the endorsements?
    Just remember me if ya do, and answer my P 90 question please, much appreciated.
    You’re the best player since Jimmy Page!

    • @joermnyc
      @joermnyc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The ears are just the plastic covers, the physical pickups are the same, but there may be differences between P90s from year to year do to a change in pickup part suppliers, or better magnets over time (this applies to all pickups... gearheads have had arguments over whether one coating material on the pickup winding wire is better than another, which is kind of insane.)
      There are Gibson pickups that look a lot like P90s, but have rectangular pole pieces called “Alnico V”, only made for the neck position, designed by Seth Lover, it’s a brighter pickup to complement the bridge P90. You would only find it on the Les Paul Custom from this same time period.

    • @rickbrown3426
      @rickbrown3426 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe R M thanks. I wanted the P 90 sound so I bought a newer Casino, it’s not got it. They’re hot and dirty but they squeal if I get close to my amp at all. The guitar plays very nicely though

    • @joermnyc
      @joermnyc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rickbrown3426 the casino is hollow and the less Paul is solid, the feedback is the amp sound getting inside the body. They might still make foam inserts for the F-holes to stop the feedback. Plus a lot of modern p90s are "hot" designs or are *vintage" to the 60s because of the Beatles using at least 2 casinos right around 1965 through the end of the band. (the guitar sound on "Revolution" is John running his straight into a cranked up mixing board channel).
