I saw the tour in Seattle when the second album came out. Copped a major attitude at the ticket agency, the first tour tickets were $12.50 and the second was $16.00 .... Beyond a doubt the best concert I ever saw.
Great rendition on Stairway. Just loving the tone and the style.
Try bending that 2nd note of "Whole Lotta Love" riff up toward the low E (D note on 5th fret A string) while letting the open D string ring. It creates a phase thing that makes the hair stand up on your neck. Also, it's how Page played it.
I am watching this video because I play guitar..... I play guitar because I heard Jimmy Page for the first time in 1970.

If you listen to the studio version of the rover, Jimmy hits a huge bum note on the intro and just keeps rolling

Man, I love this LPC!! I remember a pic of Jimmy with this back before he was in LZ. What a gem of a RI!!! Also loved the Physical Graffiti bit. The Rover's been a fave since '75 when this great album was a BD gift. Great work, Mike ! btw, i love that Magnatone!!!!

The page custom burstbuckers are some of the best sounding pickups in existence. And they are not just burstbuckers with A3 magnets and some would have you believe.

05-08 were amazing custom shop Gibson production years from what I've experienced.
Love that LP and Pagey. Got to meet Zep in the 70s when they were living in NOLA in the Quarter. Great guys and Jimmy married a Metairie girl and had a son James.

Lemmo’s the only guitar demo man I can listen to nowadays, the man raised the bar with his creative playing! Oh, nice LP as well...I don’t usually like them and prefer 335s, but that was a bit special.

I have one of the 57 murphy lab ones that’s very similar. To anyone thinking of buying one a word of caution. It takes a fair bit of tinkering to get it staying in tune. The bridge slots need additional polishing and the nut slots need widening ever so slightly if it’s nylon as it has a tendancy to stick otherwise. You’ll be limited in what modifications you can make when trying to tackle the tuning stability. The waffle back tuners aren’t really catered for without drilling new holes if you felt like putting a temp replacmeent in. Hope this helps someone out there.
If I saw that sign saying 'no Stairway To Heaven', I'd play the solo and outro licks. I thought I was doing pretty good, but then I saw an 8 year girl from Japan play Eruption on TH-cam and another one doing Racer X etc. Forever humbled.

You're right...I saw somewhere (Tim Pierce?) that the guitar of the day always sells, usually on the same day...
It always shocks me they don't just put them on ebay and let the bidding war happen! I can't imagine how much money Norm has left
on the table. Make the buyers pay the premium (EBAY Fees and Credit card Fees) like a lot of the high dollar listings do on Ebay.

Something you should NEVER play? I agree Stairway should NEVER be played by anyone inferior but the way you played it with that hint of reverb and tremolo sent shivers up my spine very much like the first time I heard it over 40 years ago.

I love Lemmo and think he's a great player so this is not a critique so much but someone should show him whole lotta love riff the way Jimmy plays it. You bend up a lil instead of down and hit the d string open in unison. I didn't know that for the longest time. I used to play it just like Lemmo for years.

There should be a LP day , it is such an iconic piece of RnR history , and present day. I do luv me a black guitar, so much cooler than red or burst, just badass. Curious about that under over bridge config on the bigsby , all these years and I've never seen that explained. Not much to say about this bad boy , it clearly speaks for itself , with a little help from Lemmo , great set my man , luv to get the Led out.
