- We're starting this week off with a bang, featuring a 1954 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top through a High Power 1959 Fender Twin Amp! The guitar is in incredible shape with a beautiful gold finish, all original, including the case. With a wonderful set of P90 pickups and the faster slim neck, it is a dream to play. Today we have Nick Mardon taking it for a spin through the High Power Twin-amp we've been featuring recently, because if we've got it in the shop you bet we're going to run it!

I love that Sean Costello got a shout out. I also love the nod to no half stepping in the playing! It's not a competition but I think he's one of the best blues players ever and most certainly my favourite!

Wraparound bridge with p90s on a goldtop is my favorite LP iteration-so classy and beautiful. I’ve got a ‘61 Les Paul Special double cut, because I can’t (yet) afford a ‘54 goldtop.

Great guitar, wish the volume & tone pots had been given a work out as well. Needed cleaning up in places & would have been great to hear it just clean as well. The real beauty is in range of tones of those P90s.

Ah... I thought that Esquire sound pretty thin in the other demo, now I know it's the Twin amp because a gold top with p-90s should definitely sound warmer than this typically. Not saying the amp sounds bad, but not as full and rich as my ears think Tweed to be...
its 100% the speakers, throw some jbls in there and it should sound real fat.
