If you haven't played these fun, varied games then you should. Its unfortunate people don't see how necessary the Wii U was and that it produced many great games for gamers looking for unique, interesting experiences. They have ironed out a few issues and produced what very well be the greatest video game console of all time with the Switch, built off of the foundation of everything that has come before. That didn't come around by chance or coincidence.
That is actually surprising considering this is Jirard. Actually I have to wonder how Paper Mario got on here when it's the worst entry in the Paper Mario series lol.
MrServantRider Nah Sticker Star takes the cake, there was a lot more flaws with that game. The fact that battling was useless outside bosses and writing didnt even try to be as creative as color splash makes it the worst title objectively speaking.
The Wii U was unfortunately a poorly marketed console. However, Nintendo seems to have learned from this and many who may have missed out on some great games from the console are getting a chance to try them out on the Switch by means of porting.

My personal Top Ten list(Wii U)... 10: Pikmin 3 9: Bayonetta 8: Smash Bros 7: Color Splash 6: WindWaker HD 5: Shovel Knight 4: Mario Maker 3: Darksiders 2 2: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 1: Xenoblade Chronicles X
I love Nintendo Land. Whenever we have a party at my house and we’re not playing Nintendo Land, one of my friends will say “hey wanna play Nintendo Land?” And we’ll all go play Nintendo Land.
@@AbdulKareem-gb1ed 10 was decent at best. 9 and 8 don't really count because they were Wii game, not Wii U games (even then 9 wasn't all that great). Though I suppose that Wii Party U was another good party game was on the system. I remember playing Mario Party 10 with a bunch of friends at a graduation party, and we had a fun time bitching about how bad and unfair the game was (seriously, Bowser mode was bullshit if you weren't Bowser). It had some decent minigames, so it at least had that, but as an overall experience, it was decent at best. And as for my thoughts on Mario Party 8... I enjoyed it, but at the same time I know that objectively it's not that good. It has some... interesting boards (half of them are just a straight line or a circle, but the other half were great). The thing that really drags 8 down is the lackluster minigames. Half of them were just basic motion control games.
Color Splash was great, I completely agree! Mentioning it just reminded me, that was also the only (or should I say "first?" nah, probably only lol) Completionist video I appeared in when I pointed out the potential Big Bad Bosses reference on Twitter. That was so cool to see! Tokyo Mirage Sessions and DKC: TF definitely deserve a look if you haven't tried them yet. TMS was my game of the year for 2016!
It's not underrated. It had barely any games worth a shit and the separate game pad was virtually pointless. It was garbage, and now that the Switch is getting ports of the few games that were actually worth owning on the Wii U, it's becoming utterly obsolete.
@UCb6xhda9wBgRWHnHGhO2snw No need to be a dick. I personally really like the Wii U, used it for countless hours and even if you don't have the same enjoyment as I do you don't have to be a dick.
I'm still triggered that Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Captain Toad, Tropical Freeze, and Wind Waker weren't on the list but StarFox Zero and Color Splash were.
It hurts my heart that Pikmin 3 is not on this list. That game made me realize my love for the RTS genre. Other games that were left out: 1. DKC Tropical Freeze 2. Lego City Undercover 3. Rayman Legends
In fact, core mechanics of the U version had to be removed because of that. The WiiU version was crippled because of the Switch, yet people pontificate as if the Switch version is inherently superior. It's typical of the mindlessness that's prevalent amongst the modern-day gaming culture.
A+ list Jirard. You and Super Mario Maker (and the community) convinces me over 2 years ago to buy a WiiU when I was in a rough patch in college. It was amazing to let a creative side of me come out in the light after being hidden for so many years. Thank you. Sincerely thank you.
My Top 10 WiiU games in no particular order: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Super Mario 3D World Zelda: Windwaker HD Smash 4 Mario Kart 8 Super Mario Maker Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Splatoon Yoshi's Wooly World Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Calvinus Cosgrovius While I definitely understand your opinion and agree that it deserves a spot in the top 10 games on the Wii U, I just don't think of it as one since I played it on switch instead of the Wii U. I'd probably take off woolly world or twilight princess to fit breath of the wild, but I'm not sure which right now.
Jirard: Lemme know what your top Wii U games are. Me: Um...I like...Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Pushmo World Jirard (probably): Hey yeah...that's uh...that's super.
Red Pandai There was a lot in the game that I heavily disliked. From the story, to the characters, to the gameplay having almost nothing to do with FE, it really wasn’t worth the purchase or the playtime.
Well it was never meant to be an FE game. It was a SMT game, with a minor FE flair. Granted, the marketing never really made it clear which influence was heavier.
One of my personal highlights on the WiiU was honestly Tokyo Mirage Sessions. It's not what people expected and it takes some time to get into the setting but it was just plain fun.
I haven't played my Wii U much recently these days, but I definitely played the hell out of it when I first got it. Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Mario Maker, all those games definitely brought some light into my life during a rather difficult time, and I'm definitely always going to be fond of all these wonderful games.
My Wii U top ten so far: #1: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild #2: Pikmin 3 #3: Axiom Verge #4: Super Mario Maker #5: SteamWorld Dig #6: Stealth Inc 2 #7: Guacamelee #8: Super Mario 3D World #9: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze #10: Turtle Tale I'm not big on PvP, so I didn't bother getting Smash, Kart, or Splatoon...
The Wii U, while it had its flaws, was a fantastic console imo. Sure, it had its blunders (Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Paper Mario Colour Splash and Star Fox Zero being the biggest mishaps imo), but it had some quality gems during its lifetime. Nintendo Land is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played (mainly thanks to Mario Chase), Splatoon is one of the best online multiplayer shooters out there, Super Mario 3D World, while it's not Odyssey, was fun in its own right and it has a fantastic soundtrack. Mario Kart 8 is my favorite Mario Kart of all time, and Smash Bros Wii U was fun to play, and probably the closest Nintendo has gotten to matching Melee in terms of quality. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is a fantastic puzzle game, and smaller franchises like Pikmin and Bayonetta got a chance to shine of the system. Then there's Super Mario Maker... overall, a fantastic system with some great games, some of which I haven't mentioned in detail, like Woolly World and Tropical Freeze. Hopefully the Switch can continue to live up to the quality of the Wii U, which it has been doing a fantastic job thus far.
Normally I avoid saying much in the comments, but looking through them I feel obligated to mention one Wii U game that I haven't seen many people bring up: The Wonderful 101. It was a game made by Platinum, the same company behind Bayonetta, and like Bayonetta, it's an amazingly over the top and fun game. I've easily poured more hours into playing it than any other games on my Wii U, and that's including games that are easily much bigger than it, like BOTW or Xenoblade Chronicles X. It's the one game on the Wii U I always find myself coming back to play even after beating it time and time again.
We just got a WiiU from my cousin recently and she didn't have any games for it (aside from what was already installed). This list has a few games on it that I have been wanting to get, but at the time I didn't have the system. Now that I finally got this system, I can get the games that I've been wanting for a long time. Thank you!!!
I'm glad Woolly World was on this list. It really brought out my inner child when I played it, and I've been thinking a lot about playing it again recently. I echo the other people saying that Tropical Freeze should have been somewhere on this list, though. It was a great game.
I almost agree with you on the Vista U, Switch 10 comparison. Windows Vista added so many features we take for granted today, like pasting images directly in our browser, hitting Windows key and being able to search our computer instead of manually finding programs through a list, the _Snipping Tool,_ it was a huge boost from XP in features. It just ran like shit. But Windows 7 was the culmination of an optimized and improved Vista. Windows 10 was the same thing, but for Windows 8.
Windows 8.1 is part of Windows 8's support lifecycle. It _is_ Windows 8. A giant update to it. In fact, Windows 8 was immediately unsupported and all 8 users had to update to 8.1 to continue getting updates. Windows 8.1 was very much like a Service Pack for 8 the way SP2 and SP3 were for XP, the only difference being it wasn't available through Windows Update and had to be installed from the Windows Store
+Oro Windows 8 was not immediately unsupported when 8.1 was released. 8.1 was released October 18, 2013. Windows 8 EOL was January 1, 2016. So you still had over 2 years left of support.
The wiiu WAS my favorite console of all time because of the fact it had quality over quantity.... But now that the switch is getting all the best from the wiiu plus some of my favorite games like TWEWY I'm totally sold and can't wait to start seeing what nintendo does next.
I can't lie, when the fiery cutting of the super smash brothers logo sliced out of the darkness I got those shivery chills of excitement, nostalgia, and pure happiness.
I still love my Wii U. Between Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Splatoon, I'm pretty sure that the only console that I've spent more time on was handhelds, thanks in part to Monster Hunter moving to 3DS only afterwards. I got to experience Wind waker for the first time because of it, and while Smash and Super mario maker didn't hold my interest as long as the hundreds of hours sucked up by the main two, I'm happy I got to experience them. I'm glad so many of the games on the system are getting ports and sequels so other people can experience them too, but I'll be keeping my Wii U forever even if it's only for nostalgia.
1: Yoshi Woolly World 2: Mariokart 8 3: Super Mario 3D World 4: New Super Mario Bros. U 5: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze 6: Captain Toad 7: Super Smash Bros. For Wii U 8: Pikmin 3 9: Super Mario Maker 10: Hyrule Warriors 11: Splatoon 12: Nintendo Land 13: Kirby’s Rainbow Ride 14: Xenoblade Chronicles X 15: Wii Fit U 16: Lego City Undercover
When all is said and done, Tropical Freeze is honestly my favorite Wii U game and (incoming blasphemy) my favorite DKC game. It's just so fantastic, gameplay is excellent, soundtrack is *amazing,* and I'm probably gonna buy the Switch port I love it that much.
I'm so glad I took your advice on Star Fox Zero. Just got it today and, while the controls took a few minutes to get used to and will take long to master, I already like it more than Star Fox 64. Good call Jirard!
I defy anyone who said the WiiU was a failed console. It was the first proper shared console my fiance and I bouhht together and came out at a time when we needed it most. Plus it just had a great line up that has only been overshadowed by Switch ports of... the same lineup. Which there is no reason to rebuy IMO.
Wii U was seriously underrated. It's kind of a shame it bombed. Not enough people gave it a chance. 1:44 9 years? 6:55 Considering it has all the Wii U and 3DS DLC yeah have fun with that XD 8:57 I completely agree with that. 12:58 It's a shame we didn't get Lloyd. Because I would have reacted the same way you did about Cloud.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze..... and Pikmin 3.... I get it though. The Wii U was a good system. And it needed to happen. And the Switch will overshadow the Wii U. But some games deserve to be recognized too :( hahaha
I'm right there with you on Star Fox Zero, man. I think the controls feel pretty natural, and once you're used to them you don't really need to look away from the main screen.
I’m still playing my Wii U (holding out for a switch) while the Xbone and PS4 collect dust. Only few will know of its greatness but for what it accomplished it did great~
The XBox One can suck a fat one with only two games that would get an interest from me (Rare Replay and Cuphead) and the PS4…any games I would like on it have ports on the PC and upcoming on the Switch.
PS4 is vastly superior, I know not everyone cares about these but it has way better graphics and an achievement system, plus a lot more great games, including 3rd party support which Nintendo was horrible at with the Wii U
o7 Well every console has its audience as long as it’s about the games love what you like, I can’t deny the PS4 controller is great (you guys got the Secret of Mana Remaster too!) and the Xbone has the sexiest D-pad
Honestly the Switch lives up to all the praise it gets. Since a new Smash was announced, I'd recommend just getting it. There's already a great library and it's only a year old
I would love to play Rare Replay as well, but yeah I don't see myself getting an Xbox One just for this one compilation. Oh and you're in luck because Cuphead is on Steam, as well. I highly recommend it!!!
What's funny is how this list still doesn't do the Wii U justice. There's such a plethora of amazing games on Wii U yet people act like it has no games because it didn't have 'enough' third party games. Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, HD Remakes of Zelda TP and Zelda WW as well as a version of BotW that isn't too different from the Switch version. There's Shantae, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Captain Toad, Pushmo, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Super Mario U and the Luigi DLC version, Pokken Tournament. And those are just the games I can think of. All of those are top level games that fans of those series or just fans of Nintendo should be interested in. I know why the Wii U didn't sell well, but I'll never understand why people call it a 'bad console' when it has so many winners.
I love this video! The WII U is one of my favorite systems of all time. Jirard has always really supported this console by making some great videos about WII U games when very few others did. I can't wait for a new Hyrule Warriors and 3d World videos as name game + because they were two of my favorite videos on this channel. Great work!! Strong picks on this list!
Your reviews for Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero are basically what convinced me to get those games, so thanks! I have Yoshi's Woolly World, but I haven't played through it yet, so I'll have to do that some time.
i wonder if they'll implement something similar on the switch. i wanna be able to follow "communities' for certain games and post screenshots to them instead of twitter. i also enjoyed giving my screenshots weird or funny captions or describing how i feel about certain parts of a game.
They got rid of it WAY to early, Switch had been out for barely 7-ish months and it was gone meanwhile Wii Shop Channel only got discontinued (pretty much) yesterday. Only reason Wii U still has online is because the 3DS runs off of the same online service
Wow... This is the first time that Jirard makes a Top 10 Video Games where I own EVERY SINGLE entry. All of these 10 games? I own them ALL on the Wii U. Also, surprised that "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze" wasn't featured on this list, but whatever. Overall, pretty good list.
Where does jirard stand on DKCTF? Would be fun to know ^^ I just love the Zelda HD remakes, having not owned the GC or Wii just makes these fantastic. Also, really love Xenoblade chronicles X!
My top 10 10. Hyrule Warriors 9. Yoshi Wooley World 8. Mario 3D World 7. Xenoblade Chronicles X 6. Donkey Kong country Tropical Freeze 5. Splatoon 4. Mario Kart 8 3. Smash Bros Wii U 2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE 1. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Honorable mentions: Splinter cell blacklist Sonic Lost World Pokken Tournament Wonderful 101 Assassin's creed 4 Black Flag Paper Mario Color Splash Bayonetta 2 Star Fox Zero I played a lot of Wii U
I'm glad to see Woolly World so high - it's pretty underrated IMO. The first few worlds are super easy but the last few are very challenging. I'm genuinely a little bummed that it got a 3DS port before the Switch became a big thing, otherwise I'm sure it would have been ported there too like Captain Toad has haha. Also I loooove Pikmin 3, and with all the ports happening atm is one of the only reasons I'm keeping a Wii U (since it's pretty obvious Mario Maker will come over at some point).
1. Super Smash Bros 2. Wonderful 101 (Probably one of the few who loves this game this much) 3. Bayonetta 2 4. Mario Maker 5. Mario Kart 8 6. Tropical Freeze 7. Pikmin 3 8. Shovel Knight 9. Splatoon 10. Xenoblade Chronicles X I did not add Windwaker since its kind of a port or BoTW since I count that as a Switch game instead. Now please port Wonderful 101 to the Switch!
I still have better memories also, even if just comparing the first year. I don't think the switch is better either, due to not being able to use it as a second screen like the Wii U Gamepad. Could not play Starfox or Pikmin 3 properly on the Switch! I loved the Wii U for that.
are you referring to starfox zero? the gamepad functionality on that with the motion controls is why i can't play that game quite honestly most game i've played on the wii U i'll forget that there is even anything displayed on the game pad having to distract your attention just seems like bad game design.
Some people didn't like it, but I did. I like games that tax my multitasking, and having to switch between 2 different screens made the game very enjoyable for me. Hard at first, but enjoyable to master.
Great video! I'll proudly say that the Wii U is my favorite video game console to date, SO I always appreciate seeing it get some love. There are so many good games that I've enjoyed with friends and on my own. Mario Maker is awesome, the Zelda HD remakes are beautiful, and I played BotW on Wii U rather than Switch so I'll put that on my list too. I've always loved Nintendo, but the Wii U has made me a super fan! Thank you for making this video! It really made my day
I love the wiiu. For a long time, my ideal setup was a gaming pc and a wiiu. Now, my pc has aged so my gaming setup consists of my aged pc (used now mostly for emulation or older pc games), my wiiu, and my ps4 (for the new games that my pc can’t play). I still use the wiiu a lot. Fun as heck. My only problem is that my wiiu is Japanese and it’s not region free. That means I play breath of the wild in Japanese. So, there’s lots of guessing when going through dialog. Luckily, I’ve been able to play most of it without much frustration since it doesn’t rely on dialog as much as other rpgs. Love this video.
Mr. Completionist, Today I present you with a challenge, when you completed splatoon on the show I was impressed , you were able to get to the top of the rankings system, get every weapon, and 100% the single player campaign, however there is still more to be achieved, the sequel is out now and to complete it would be your ultimate acheivement, a true test of your abilities. 4 ranked game modes to get to the top of, dozens of weapons to buy, a co-op mode to level up in, and by the end of this summer; 2 separate single player campaigns to complete 100%, but I even challenge you to obtain each and every one of the hundreds of clothing items in the game and level them all up one by one. Surely this is a challenge worthy of your title. Better get started, you don't want a sequel to come out before you're done. ~sincerely a fan.
Mario Maker is what made me buy a Wii U. I mean I just bought one, like less than a yr ago. Couldnt wait for the switch to get it. Jirard, I have also played and beat some of your levels. Really creative stuff!
I freaking love the Wii U. I so happy I was an earlier adopter. I was sad it didn’t make same splash for others as it did for me but it gave us the Switch. I hopefully someday will get one!!!
Oh man this was a great list. Three games I can think of that I would have given a spot in my top ten are 'Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker', 'Xenoblade Chronicles X' and 'The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild'. I know the last one also was released on the Switch at the same time, but it still is a WiiU game.
What is your favorite Top Ten that we've done so far?
I'm sad to not see Tropical Freeze on here :(

It just... weird seeing a character like Bayonetta become a Nintendo icon. She’s easily the raunchiest character on the console since Conker
Ben Wasserman I mean, there was Travis from No More Heroes.
Rip Conker
Hey Arnold! But those games are that well known
I think Conker is infinitely raunchier than Bayonetta, personally.
*presses X to pay respects*
The fact that tropical freeze didn't make this list is an absolute crime
Joel Mais and Star Ass and Paper Ass did 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Color Splash was great, I completely agree! Mentioning it just reminded me, that was also the only (or should I say "first?" nah, probably only lol) Completionist video I appeared in when I pointed out the potential Big Bad Bosses reference on Twitter. That was so cool to see!
Tokyo Mirage Sessions and DKC: TF definitely deserve a look if you haven't tried them yet. TMS was my game of the year for 2016!
Thank you so much for showing the Wii U some love. It's such an underrated console the deserves to be recognized more. Thumbs up to you Jirard
Edak pikmin 3 was amazing
It hurts my heart that Pikmin 3 is not on this list. That game made me realize my love for the RTS genre.
Other games that were left out:
1. DKC Tropical Freeze
2. Lego City Undercover
3. Rayman Legends
If Pikmin 3 isn't number 1 i'm gonna burn my house down
Edit: I need a new house..
We need Pikmin 4.
Fuck yeah we do! i haven't bought a Switch yet but as soon as Pikmin 4 comes out i'm buying one instantly.
I don't think Jirard likes Pikmin very much. Which is probably why it's not on this list.
RandomNPC "not liking Pikmin" .... this should be considered a crime.
Honestly I didn't get Pikmin at all when I got it on the Gamecube. I should probably revisit the series past the first game though
Remember that Breath of the Wild is a WiiU game ported to the Switch.
In fact, core mechanics of the U version had to be removed because of that.
The WiiU version was crippled because of the Switch, yet people pontificate as if the Switch version is inherently superior. It's typical of the mindlessness that's prevalent amongst the modern-day gaming culture.
Stephen O'Brien i wish i could give you more than just One measly thumbs Up...
Stephen O’Brien I understand like three of those words
The lack of Wonderful 101 cuts me deep
Screwy everyone forgets about that game
Its being kickstarted got switch
A+ list Jirard. You and Super Mario Maker (and the community) convinces me over 2 years ago to buy a WiiU when I was in a rough patch in college. It was amazing to let a creative side of me come out in the light after being hidden for so many years. Thank you. Sincerely thank you.
My Top 10 WiiU games in no particular order:
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Super Mario 3D World
Zelda: Windwaker HD
Smash 4
Mario Kart 8
Super Mario Maker
Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Splatoon
Yoshi's Wooly World
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
No Breath of the Wild?
And yes I do consider it to be a Wii U game that was ported to Switch.
Because that's exactly what it is.
Fair enough.
Joseph Hawkins man... only two of those have been ported over to the switch. And only another 2 have sequels on said console...
Luckily we're getting Tropical Freeze and Smash for Switch, and hopefully we'll get Monster Hunter Double Cross Switch to release internationally.
3DW, Tropical Freeze, NSMBU, Mario Maker, Mario Kart 8, and Captain Toad are some of my favorites
Jirard: Lemme know what your top Wii U games are.
Me: Um...I like...Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Pushmo World
Jirard (probably): Hey yeah...that's uh...that's super.
Strain42 I would’ve much rather had an actual FE game than what TMS was. Never played Pushmo, but I heard that it’s good.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions was great
TMS is more shinigami Tensei with FE references than anything. Which i found fine.
My Wii U top ten so far:
#1: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
#2: Pikmin 3
#3: Axiom Verge
#4: Super Mario Maker
#5: SteamWorld Dig
#6: Stealth Inc 2
#7: Guacamelee
#8: Super Mario 3D World
#9: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
#10: Turtle Tale
I'm not big on PvP, so I didn't bother getting Smash, Kart, or Splatoon...
Any list without Rayman Legends WiiU needs to be disregarded. It is a perfect game.
I feel like PIKMIN 3 should've at least been acknowledged, but otherwise this is a really solid list
Hey! Let's Do A Thing! We're also overshadowing donkey Kong tropical freeze
and how does anyone leave out breath of the wild!!?
We just got a WiiU from my cousin recently and she didn't have any games for it (aside from what was already installed). This list has a few games on it that I have been wanting to get, but at the time I didn't have the system. Now that I finally got this system, I can get the games that I've been wanting for a long time. Thank you!!!
Donkey kong county tropic freeze should be on this list! But to each it's own I guess
I forgot Windows 8 was a thing XD
That's a goal we all strive for.
Windows 8.1 was already improved version of Windows 8. Windows 10 perfected WIndows 8.1.
Donkey Kong tropical freeze? No? Oh... ok, it drove me bananas that it wasn't on the list.
Smash was my fav on Wii U! Also pokken tournament. Nice video!
Pikmin 3: I'm going to be on that list, I can feel it!
The Completionist: I'm about to end this mans whole career!
Hello How to Basic.
I don't get this reference. Can someone explain?
If it's not wemes I'm lost
Josh Heissler how to basic face reveal vid
im howtobasic
U mean I'm how to Basic
Best list, the bestest list of all. Really love your #2, it's a game I still play to this day!
1: Yoshi Woolly World
2: Mariokart 8
3: Super Mario 3D World
4: New Super Mario Bros. U
5: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
6: Captain Toad
7: Super Smash Bros. For Wii U
8: Pikmin 3
9: Super Mario Maker
10: Hyrule Warriors
11: Splatoon
12: Nintendo Land
13: Kirby’s Rainbow Ride
14: Xenoblade Chronicles X
15: Wii Fit U
16: Lego City Undercover
When all is said and done, Tropical Freeze is honestly my favorite Wii U game and (incoming blasphemy) my favorite DKC game. It's just so fantastic, gameplay is excellent, soundtrack is *amazing,* and I'm probably gonna buy the Switch port I love it that much.
2023 I Still Love My Wii U ❤
No wonderful 101
IM OUTTA HERE !
Wonderful 101 was the reason i bought me wiiu jajajaja
6:55 Considering it has all the Wii U and 3DS DLC yeah have fun with that XD
8:57 I completely agree with that.
Andy Briggs opinions
Original Pixel I know. I’m annoying and semi-insightful hahaha
LEGO City Undercover is my favourite Wii U game. A family-friendly GTA packed to the brim with nostalgic references? Sounds perfect to me!
I agree with you mostly this time. Donkey Kong is in my top 10, maybe even first.
PS4 is vastly superior, I know not everyone cares about these but it has way better graphics and an achievement system, plus a lot more great games, including 3rd party support which Nintendo was horrible at with the Wii U
o7
Well every console has its audience as long as it’s about the games love what you like, I can’t deny the PS4 controller is great (you guys got the Secret of Mana Remaster too!) and the Xbone has the sexiest D-pad
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO LIKES COLOUR SPLASH
I love this video! The WII U is one of my favorite systems of all time. Jirard has always really supported this console by making some great videos about WII U games when very few others did. I can't wait for a new Hyrule Warriors and 3d World videos as name game + because they were two of my favorite videos on this channel. Great work!! Strong picks on this list!
"We get to wait patiently for Bayonetta 3 sometime this year!"
Oh poor, naive 2018 Jirard.
Poor naive 2018 Jirard indeed, even from 2021 perspective
And now?
Your reviews for Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero are basically what convinced me to get those games, so thanks! I have Yoshi's Woolly World, but I haven't played through it yet, so I'll have to do that some time.
The Switch is what the Wii U SHOULD have been.
So glad somebody is giving the Wii U some love. Definitely one of the most under appreciated consoles.
The Wii U truly died for me when they got rid of Miiverse.
i wonder if they'll implement something similar on the switch. i wanna be able to follow "communities' for certain games and post screenshots to them instead of twitter. i also enjoyed giving my screenshots weird or funny captions or describing how i feel about certain parts of a game.
4:01 Did that Toad say that his wife left him? Does...does he need a hug?
The Wii U was such an underrated console. Terrible shame that it never lived up to it's true potential.
Where does jirard stand on DKCTF? Would be fun to know ^^
I just love the Zelda HD remakes, having not owned the GC or Wii just makes these fantastic. Also, really love Xenoblade chronicles X!
I really loved my Wii U. It was a special console for me.. came out when I started high school and died when I was an working adult.
So, Star Fox and Paper Mario over FE mirage sessions, DK Tropical Freeze and Zelda BoTW? Huh
botw is more of a switch game because nobody bought it on wii u
Interesting that a game that is essentially impossible to complete is number 1 on your list!
My top 10
10. Hyrule Warriors
9. Yoshi Wooley World
8. Mario 3D World
7. Xenoblade Chronicles X
6. Donkey Kong country Tropical Freeze
5. Splatoon
4. Mario Kart 8
3. Smash Bros Wii U
2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
1. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Honorable mentions:
Splinter cell blacklist
Sonic Lost World
Pokken Tournament
Wonderful 101
Assassin's creed 4 Black Flag
Paper Mario Color Splash
Bayonetta 2
Star Fox Zero
I played a lot of Wii U
Any plans for a top 10 list for the 3DS? Would love some new ideas on what to buy!
Donkey Kong tropical freeze got robbed
I'm glad to see Woolly World so high - it's pretty underrated IMO. The first few worlds are super easy but the last few are very challenging. I'm genuinely a little bummed that it got a 3DS port before the Switch became a big thing, otherwise I'm sure it would have been ported there too like Captain Toad has haha. Also I loooove Pikmin 3, and with all the ports happening atm is one of the only reasons I'm keeping a Wii U (since it's pretty obvious Mario Maker will come over at some point).
2:58 anyone else say quietly “you Jirard”
1. Super Smash Bros
2. Wonderful 101 (Probably one of the few who loves this game this much)
3. Bayonetta 2
4. Mario Maker
5. Mario Kart 8
6. Tropical Freeze
7. Pikmin 3
8. Shovel Knight
9. Splatoon
10. Xenoblade Chronicles X
I did not add Windwaker since its kind of a port or BoTW since I count that as a Switch game instead. Now please port Wonderful 101 to the Switch!
Long live the Wii U!
Guillermo Sotelo it already died
djheroxt like the Dreamcast, it will rise from the ashes like a Phoenix. 😁
A good solid list, I don't think I would even change much for my own top 10.
11:20 smh missed opportunity, should have said “is the double cherry on top”
Haha nice!
Thank you for giving Paper Mario Color Splash the love and respect it deserves
While the switch is objectively better, I still have better memories from the wiiu
the Wii U put in more time the switch is still relatively new.
Alex Bickmore the switch is a year old, the Wii U is almost 6...
Kinda hard to smack these choices considering how few choices you had on Wii U games to begin with. Good list, didn't expect a full 10 titles.
Pikmin 3 DkC tropical freeze Lego city undercover and of course breath of the wild.
It really made my day
Omg where was Tropical Freeze?
I also enjoyed the reactions that the Game grumps had while playing your Super Mario maker levels!
My favourite wii u
DK country:Tropical freeze maastapiece
No tropical freeze?
I'm happy I got to grow up into my teens with the wii u, such great memories
Oh no! You missed a game that I like. I better post it here to validate myself.
Kinda sad to not see nintendo land in there. I know it was sort of a tech demo... but it was still a superb tech demo :p
Well, until Mario Maker gets a REALLY enhanced port to the Switch, I think I'll just stick to Super Mario Bros. X.
Minus Bros. Oh yeah Super Mario X is way better than Mario Maker
~sincerely
a fan.
I really enjoyed my Nintendo Vista that also got me my Nintendo Windows 10.
Jirard's love for the Wii U is a big reason I got one and it got me back into gaming. 👍
Star fox zero would be a great port to the switch but just touch up the conrtolls
Mario Maker is what made me buy a Wii U. I mean I just bought one, like less than a yr ago. Couldnt wait for the switch to get it. Jirard, I have also played and beat some of your levels. Really creative stuff!
Where's my boy DK??????
I freaking love the Wii U. I so happy I was an earlier adopter. I was sad it didn’t make same splash for others as it did for me but it gave us the Switch. I hopefully someday will get one!!!
Now with the announcement of super mario maker 2 the Wii U has now officially become worthless
