    I’m a Chattanooga native and am currently a die-hard Nashvillian. So many people have moved here that they’ve run our housing prices up crazy high, so I’m all for people moving to Chattanooga. Go, move! As for music in Nashville, our largest industry is actually healthcare with a multitude of healthcare companies.

    I'm a Chattanooga native. Lived in Nashville for 2 years, then came back. People moving to both cities are coming with a lot more disposable incoming from their more expensive states. This is ruining locals' chance at home ownership. Very sad.

      The same is happening everywhere people want to be. It's called a free market. Go look under any video talking about a great place to live or retire, and you'll find these comments. This also happens within a city when crappy neighborhoods are "gentrified". People who lived in East Nashville when it was crappy complain that they can't afford to buy a home there now that it's not crappy. Same thing happened in Atlanta in the Virginia Highlands, Decatur, and Little Five Points areas. People need to look elsewhere if they can't afford to compete for the most desired places. Or I guess you could just complain until you're in your graves...it's your life after all. #freedom There's tonnes of room in this country for every budget, but nobody has an inherent right to live in a prime area.

    • @jakoos
      @jakoos ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rdpmackie people moving in the area should be taxed such a substantial amount that it evens the odds. Natives shouldnt be punished for out of control economies 2000 miles away.

    We moved to East TN, 1.5 hours from Chattanooga and 1 hour from Knoxville; it's gorgeous here but, take note, if you are older, and if you have arthritis, you will definitely be suffering during the colder months! If you're young, it's probably the best place on the planet, I've never been to a more beautiful place. We moved from West TN high crime city and we are so happy here, low crime, nice people, it's wonderful to feel safe!

    My wife and I are both originally (a very long time ago) from Florida. We lived in North Carolina for 20 years of our married life. Our daughter was born in Greensboro. We love the east coast, but my wife's asthma from farming chemicals and tobacco kept us out of NC. We moved to Colorado in 2011 and I vowed to go back but not NC. We moved to the St. Louis area in March of 2019, still here, but plan our next big move to Chattanooga, closer to my sister near Atlanta and very close to the beloved Smoky Mountains that I miss. This year, starting immediately, we are adjusting our finances and plans to be there by this time next year. Another note: We plan a weekend trip sometime in May or June to Chattanooga to scope it out.

We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
