      I've had this on my C8 Corvette for just over 9 months now. I am extremely pleased with Body 36. Application is easy, and the hydrophobic properties are like day one. I use a blower and one regular-sized microfiber towel to dry the entire car. I also used their Diamond Leather and observed zero dye transfer onto the edge of my seat from jeans. The only other product I've seen Pan review that competes on price, performance, and ease of application is the new Cerakote. It would be hard to go wrong with either.

    I just applied DB36 and Glass to my Alpine White BMW X5. The glass coating was super simple to use (just make sure you have very good ventilation with the prep spray, it is very strong).
    I took my time with the paint coating as it is very challenging to see the coating on the surface of white paint as you apply it and watch for it to flash. That said, i found the hazing to be very helpful in that regard when compared to other paint coatings I've applied on white vehicles in the past.
    When I started it was about 50% humidity in my garage (heated to 65F) and the flash time was about 10-12 minutes, but by the time i finished the humidity had risen to about 60% and the flash time reduced to about 6 minutes.
    I did end up with a couple high spots, but they were quickly removed by wiping with the damp applicator and then immediately wiping with the towel.
    The only problem was the amount of coating I ended up using. I was being pretty careful to not apply too much and I was using a pearl puck with the coating saver barrier layer in it, but I didn't have enough coating to cover the entire car twice. So if you're planning to do two coats on anything bigger than a midsize sedan, I would recommend getting two bottles. A 50mL bottle would've probably been the perfect amount.
    Overall I'm very satisfied with the result, it looks super glossy and gave a nice "brightening" effect as i applied it to my Alpine White paint (which is a warm white color). It feels very smooth and is slicker than I was expecting. The difference between it and CSL/EXO V4 is hardly perceptible with regard to slickness.

    Hi Pan, Well I did it. Yes my new, never coated Honda Accord. I did a full prep even with a paint correction/polish. Used their Panel Prep spay, very easy to apply. I didn't notice any real difference between their prep spray and CarPro Eraser. Maybe the difference is chemical, not sure. But never the less, Then applies the Diamond Body 36, It was about 80 degrees and 56% humidity. Believe it or not after 15 minutes of applying each section I really didn't see any hazing. Except on the hood where there was overlap in the middle from doing one side then the other. I have to say this stuff is off the chain. The hydrophobic properties are amazing. I went on a little trip Tampa to Orlando and back using side road highways. It started raining on the way back. The rain was just flying off the car and windshield at 45 mph. By the way I had applied Stoner Invisible Glass Ceramic Coating on the windshield. I did film the finish product of the car and the hydro phobics using a garden hose. I need to record the experience I had while driving in the rain, it was insane. Then I will come back here and post the link.

      DB36 and glass were installed in December. Interior, leather and wheels were done in January.
      I’m in Texas. Ive battled dust and have since won that war with DB36. I applied the wheels to my chrome exhaust tips. No longer fighting carbon build up and cleaning my rims is a breeze
      I have personally found that my quick detailers , drying aids do not play nice with DB36. I can sort of getaway with dream maker and it gives a brief enhancement but it smears around for a good bit. I use absolute 64:1 with my drying towel and that does the trick for me.
      Glass does a great job with bugs, easy to clean off. Rain starts to bead and take flight off the windshield at about 35-40mph

      Real world tests are the most complicated thing to organize. The 1 year real world testing I had done with 20 paint protectants on one vehicle was such a pain to organize, follow up, ensure the customer brings their car in, ensure I'm the only one washing it, etc. So I'm not sure I'd be ready for such tests in the future. We'll see.
      There's a reason not many do these kinds of tests. Super hard to produce. But seeing how successful that series of real world tests videos were on my channel, maybe I'll bring myself to fight through the pain of producing that content haha.

    If you buy Quick Body you will want to use it quarterly if you are DIY. It will start to harden or gum up rather. No way it will be usable sitting for a year after 1st use. I am certified through Diamond Protech and use all of these products daily.
    Lastly, when and if you plan on applying a 2nd layer you have to do it within the 1hr window. Do not wait! I was able to confirm this through our US Rep about 2 weeks ago after hearing this on The Rag Company's TRCMA 23

      Hi, I have written a comment exactly below yours in regards to the leveling of DB36. I understand you are certified and maybe you can help it be more clear to me. • @wayniac34
      @wayniac34 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vasilisk8208 Hello! I asked them about this as well as it could be confusing or may cause failed installs by folks. It's important to allow the coating to flash properly. In my environment in Michigan I've found 12mins is the sweet spot so far this spring. It does change as heat/humidity changes throughout the year.
      Another tip I would add.... I can't stress enough the importance of using they body prep and doing a thorough job. We go as far as doing a double wipe to ensure the paint has been prepped. Takes about 10mins for us and worth the extra time. I believe this is often seen as step taken lightly when in fact its absolutely critical so the coating can bond properly.
      Pan is correct....it will rainbow initially then haze. Once you see the haze and you've given the proper flash time based on your environment the wipe off will be effortless. This isn't a coating that smears or is oily. We have been able to cut down the number of coating towels used per car quite a bit.
      IF you opt to do a second coat make sure you do it within the 1st hr.
      IF you have QB you can use it only glass but you can't if you already ha e Diamond Glass installed. They do not play well together. I learned this from Levi at the Rag Company when they revealed they would carry the line back in the summer.
      Let me know if I can be of any further help. If/when I hear back from them regarding the flash time on DB36 I'll confirm here. It may have just been a typo based on what I'm seeing everyday.

    • @vasilisk8208
      @vasilisk8208 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your time and all the useful information. Did you ever apply a second coat? And if so, what are your impressions from doing so? The reason I am asking is because a rep from DP during TRCMA 2023 stated that through their testing, there is a chance the second layer could slip and that there is no reason to go with a second application. Again, thank you for your time.

    • @wayniac34
      @wayniac34 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @vasilis k I also saw that and reached out to them immediately. I was told a 2nd layer was not required but If I wanted to apply a 2nd coat to do so within 1hr of applying the 1st. It was emphasized that it had to be within that 1hr window. We now lay down a heavier layer of the 1st coat. 1 bottle per vehicle if it's a 30ml bottle ( depends on vehicle size of course ). So far this coating system has been a positive for us and our customers! I'll continue to video and post maintenance washes as customers return months later.

    I actually noticed that Diamond Glass is so effective that sometimes I think it hurts visibility in light rain. For example, the contact angle and hydrophobicity is so good that what would be a big clear droplet without a coating becomes a cluster of micro beads that’s a little harder to see through. It’s very durable so far and no wiper skipping though.

    Hi Pan, thank you for all the great content!
    Since watching, i decided to apply CQ.UK3.0 ceramic to my car only a few weeks ago. I washed, chemically removed, clay barred, machine compounded and polished before applying, and finished with the reload - as per the instructions. I noticed instantly the water spot marks left were far worse than before; when using Maguires ultimate wax. I washed the car using Reset and then applied 303 quick detailer in an attempt to prevent the spotting. This caused all sorts of high spot issues for some reason, but im not sure why? It almost seemed like the 303 detailer reactivated the CQ 3.0? Since applying the 303 detailer and after the next morning dew/frost had dried, the water spotting issue was equally as bad, and the metallic black paint looks like it needs washing once again. I'm now considering polishing back the ceramic coat and applying the nano diamond 18 month instead. Of course im worried that the water spot marks will be the same. What do you recommend Pan?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm confused. You talk about having applied a ceramic coating (CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0) and then talk about using a Meguiar's Ultimate Wax? You don't apply regular waxes on top of ceramic coatings. You would be masking the coating's superior properties, plus the coating eventually rejects the wax, as those aren't compatible chemistries.
      What shampoo did you use prior to the application? What compound? What polish? Did you IPA wipe the surface with CarPro Eraser before applying the coating? This is crucial. All polishing oils must be removed before applying a coating if you want proper bonding.
      Also, did you apply two layers of CQuartz? 1 hour between layers. And 45-60 minutes after the final layer, you must apply CarPro Reload in order to protect the coating from water spotting during the first week of curing. Don't wash the car for 7 to 14 days after applying the coating, as the coating still continues to cure. Also, during the first 24 hours after the coating application, don't expose the vehicle to water or rain. Another crucial step here.
      Ideally, after you last layer of CQuartz UK 3.0, you wait 4 hours, and then apply CarPro Gliss 2.0 this is a hyper slick top coat (like Reload on steroids) and actually best to help prevent water spots, as most coatings are prone to water spotting. That's why each company has developed a topper to help reduce the chances of water spotting.

      @@PanTheOrganizer Hi Pan, Thank you so much for taking the time to respond back to me!
      Sorry, I will try and better explain: I have used Maguires Ultimate Wax for many years without any water spotting issues - before the ceramic coating application.
      I have not applied any waxes to the ceramic.
      I took 2 days to prepare the clear coat for the ceramic coat (as well as an interior detail).
      Day 1:
      Washed using washing up liquid (I normally use Maguires Ultimate Wash and Wax), to try and breakdown previous waxes.
      Chemical and tar decontaminated,
      Clay barred,
      Machine compounded using Maguires Ultimate Compound.
      Day 2:
      Machine polish using Maguires Ultimate Polish,
      Prepped surface with a 1:1 (distilled water and rubbing alcohol) home made IPA mix.
      The paint surface was super 'finger tip' squeaky before applying the CQ.UK.3.0. It was definitely wax/polish free.
      I then applied 2 coats of ceramic. By the time I finished the 1st layer, an hour had long passed, so I continued with the 2nd.
      I then applied the CarPro Reload to the ceramic about an hour after finishing the 2nd coat. No issues with applying the ceramic/reload, what so ever.
      The next morning (approximately 14 hours after completion), there was a light dew on the roof and bonnet which I blotted away using a waffle weave drying towel.
      I left the car for 2 weeks before its first wash:
      I foam cannoned a dilute of Autoglym Foam Car Wash (Ph Neutral) which I rinsed away,
      Hand washed using CarPro Reset.
      Dried with the waffle weave and small air blower on grills/wheels etc.
      I then applied 303 Graphene Detailer in an attempt to reduce the water spotting issue.
      This is when the problem of the high spots started, where the detailer seemed to re-activate the ceramic coating, and it became incredibly difficult to remove the detailer without leaving a real mess of high spots. I ended up applying and removing the detailer as I did the ceramic coating (using a microfibre applicator) in attempt to ease the high spotting issue. I only managed to complete the bonnet and roof with the detailer as the task was proving far too difficult.
      Interestingly, I have used the 303 Graphene Detailer on my sons car after a 3 stage bar, cut and polish, and it went on incredibly easy (I admit, I accidently picked up the Graphene Detailer instead of the Graphene Nano spray!). I I can say though, it was super easy to apply and 3 weeks on, it's still beading superbly with very few water spots on its metallic grey paint. So, I easily noticed the difference when applying the 303 Graphene Detailer to the ceramic coating. It was very, very different.
      I live in the UK, so of course it's not the driest and warmest of climates at the moment, however, I've never experienced the water spot marks on my metallic black paint like I am now - after application of the CK.UK.3.0 ceramic coating. Of course now, I am a little reluctant to spend more money on a Diamond Nano coating, if the same water spotting issues will occur.
      Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Pan, question, now with most standards as we all know, most times with coatings we are taught to use 3 different microfiber cloths to remove coatings, such as example:- short nap Terry (diamond weave) leveling, followed by 300 gsm extra removal , and final wipe to buff like 500 gsm plush, with that said can you get away with 2, or the one it only comes with in the kit. what's your thoughts on this. Hello pan. My name is Shannon. I have been watching your detailing videos for a while now , and they are very informative. I recently installed a body 36 coating on my truck. I did all the necessary preparation for the coating before I installed it. The coating did improve the gloss, but not as much as I was expecting. Is thier a topper that I can apply to give it more gloss? I also taped off all the exterior plastics before I applied the coating, but the tape left some residue on the plastic. What would you recommend I use to remove the residue safely without discoloring the plastic.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shannon. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on TH-cam as we surpassed 910,000 subscribers and we have over 120 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
      You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
      Keep in mind that the biggest improvement in gloss for your paint will always be through paint correction, i.e. machine polishing. That is what gives the biggest bump in gloss units, if you were to measure with a gloss meter. Doing a compound to remove deep scratches and swirl marks, followed by a polish to improve depth, clarity and gloss, and remove the compound's sanding marks is what will make the paint free of defects, flatter and "true" (level) and thus increase the light reflection.
      Protection can only further bump the gloss by a few units. It's like the icing on the cake, after a proper paint correction.
      That being said, although most coatings are glossy, you can always further push the gloss a little more if that's what you're looking for. But again, no miracles compared to paint correction.
      Now that you have applied the coating, wait a full month before you wash your car and start applying a topper to further boost gloss. Once that month has passed, you can wash your car and here are a few sprays that can further boost gloss:
      bit.ly/44tccON (this can last a few weeks)
      bit.ly/3OhfG1c (this is just a pure gloss enhancer, zero protection)
      bit.ly/44Jjb5Z (in a 1:25 dilution for use as a quicker detailer)
      amzn.to/3NXH0jN (1-3 months durability)
      You have to play around with products until you find something that suits your needs.
      Note that those aren't meant for long term protection. More of a quick detailer style, to boost gloss and slickness.
      Also, when using tape on plastics, make sure it's meant for automotive use. A quality tape like this: bit.ly/3NXGPoD

I have no experience using a rotary machine, can the process be done by hand or will the orange peel fade with time. Please let me know my options. Thank you.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      All new vehicles have orange peel. Some just more than others. But all cars have it.
      The paint is actually designed that way, to make scratches and swirls less apparent. If the paint was truly flat like a show car or collection car, you would notice all the defects even more. It's just not recommended to remove orange peel on a daily driven vehicle.
      But if you insist on fully removing all the orange peel and making the paint as flat as possible, yes that will increase perceived gloss, but you'll have to do lots of hard work to achieve that, starting with water sanding. Not recommended if you have never done this. Then you follow up with machine polishing steps to further refine the surface (compound, polish).

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Protecting a new vehicle ad soon as you take delivery is always the best option.
      A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
      If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
      I explain all of this in this popular video: th-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/w-d-xo.html
      So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car from two of my customers:

      @Pan The Organizer I love going through your end of year awards and last year, you rated the Carpro CQuartz UK 3.0 very high for three straight years. Do you like this product better than the Carpro CQuartz UK 3.0 for a ceramic coating?

    Not one to be applied outdoors so I’ll give it a miss. Thanks for explaining the different products though Pan

      Although the brand doesn't recommend outdoor application, if you pick a day where it's 50-90F and 40-50% humidity, and you can work in the shade on a cool surface, you should be fine.

    Hi Pan, thanks for another great video. I’d be curious to know how the glass coating compares to Gyeon Repel?

      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't use that specific Gyeon Glass coating. I have tested their QuickView glass coating.

    Hey pan have you ever looked at the 3D nano pails? Nobody has covered them coherently yet but they’re a wonderful product especially for professionals trying to bring down costs

    No curing or hour only would be so beneficial for me as I detail outside and have no garage. Would be great saying to a customer it's ready to be driven off right away .

    Great video as usual Pan! I recently purchased Adams Ceramic Coating Advanced. Should I use Adams for the windows or do you think this is better options?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Adam’s didn’t do that well on glass in my testing. I prefer dedicated glass coatings.
