- This ddHi-Fi DAC has got to be one of the most value for money portable DAC/Amps out there. Not only is it really well made, but it also manages to drive IEMs really well as well as avoids colouring their sound too much. Headphone Zone & ddHi-Fi have also launched carry cases for your IEMs as well as DACs which is terrifically made.

sir your JBL live 770nc review was very good can please compare those with the Sennheiser Accentum plus
I bought it just to test a DAC/Amp at this price. I am pleasantly surprised! I liked it so much that I kept it and had some prolonged listening sessions. I found that with some IEMs, like the Final A5000, it reveals imperfections in poorly recorded tracks and they do not sound well. Other than that, this has no flaw. The sonic performance and the build quality are a steal at this price! Thanks for reviewing and highlighting that microphone passthrough feature which is very easy to miss.
Which app you're using to listen HiRes audio

compatible with Moto G54?
Great video sir. I was looking for a usb c dac to listen to dt770 80ohm on my phone. will this dac amp combo be good enough?
It should be fine. I would also recommend checking out my review on the iFi Go Link. It has a little more power, which should be better for your beyers. There's nothing like having a dedicated desktop DAC Amp for your headphones, but that'll cost a lot more.
Nice video, will this improve/ noticable bass performance on ZNS pro and edx pro ? Or shall I forget DAC and upgrade IEM insted
You'll be better off spending towards better IEMs before getting a DAC.
hey paul, first of all, i really appreciate ur work of explaing audio gadgets so well. i have venture electronics abigail pro,
is buying ddhifi x Headphonezone a better upgrade or not, plz clear my doubt....
As far as I know, the Abigail doesn't have a dedicated amp chip, so using this ddHiFi should create more of a kick with the IEMs you pair it with.
@@PaulsPOVcomparison with iFi Audio - GO Link
Hello Paul, appreciate the detailed review.
Can we use a 3.5 to 3.5 mm aux cable and connect the ddhifi dongle to a powered portable speaker and enjoy the hi res sound through a speaker ?
Yes you can, this is pretty much how I listen to Hi-Res audio on my car from my phone.
@@PaulsPOVsir it is supported to reporting mike?
Looks really premium! Can't find this gadget here in Germany.
Greetings my friend!
Greetings Matthias! Yes, you would've noticed no foreign costing. I couldn't find it being sold overseas as well. Perhaps it will launch in time.
There are plenty of other Chinese manufacturers with same configuration for eg jcally jm6 Pro , kz am01 and audiocular d07
Hey Paul bought jbl tune 770nc headphones watching from your reviews will this converter help me to get much more sound clarity with wired mode 😊
Not really, the limitation will most likely be with the drivers. They've not really been tuned to be Hi-Res sadly.
Hey, love your content? Could you do a deep review of Moondrop - FreeDSP
2-Pin to Type-C Cable?
I don't have any immediate plans for reviewing these, but I'll try and get my hands on it.
@@PaulsPOV sure, sure...
Hi Paul, thanks for the great review 👍. Can you try the compatibility of the DAC with other smartphone brands like Redmi, Motorola, Realme, etc ? Or if you have tried, can you share your experience?
I dont have access to those brands, but I don't see why it shouldn't work with them. It's worthwhile connecting with the folk at HeadphoneZone about this if you'd like to know since they'll be able to try this out. I'm sure members of their teams have already tried this.
@@PaulsPOV Ok, I will connect there. I read on their website that some people have faced problems like background noise and shrill sounds with KZ-AM01 and Venture Electronics' Abigail Pro while using them with the above brands' smartphones....so just wanted to know if it's the same case with this one too.
Hey paul, Is there any point in using these usb dac in Android phones as they don't support bit perfect audio??
These certainly beat using internal hardware, which is why I use them.
Is it possible for you to confirm that microphone works when this is connected to your ipad? So i can at-least assume that it will work with iphone 15 before proceeding on buying this

I have downloaded the FLAC Hindi songs file in my samsung galaxy S10 plus .And this DAC was ordered yesterday. Will I feel the difference?
Try some A-B testing and let me know if you do. Don't rush it. Spend some time with a FLAC and then an MP3. Depending on how transparent your IEMs, headphones, or speakers are, that'll make it easier to tell the difference in compression.
What do u think of KZ's new dac 'KZ AM-01' ... it too has the same dac and amp chip as this one.. and more cheaper... Which one should I go for?
I haven't tested it, but it's build quality from photos doesn't seem as robust as this and I don't think it has a dedicated amp chip like this as well, so it's output won't be anywhere as close to the ddHiFi's.
Others are audiocular d07, jcally jm6 Pro all have same configuration
Well headphone zone mentioned that KZ dac is not compatible with PC's
Will it noticeably improve the sound quality of blon bl03 and AKG K52? I'll be mainly using it with my realme p1.
It'll certainly have better hardware than your phones internal DAC & Amp. The Blon BL03 isn't a very transparent set of IEMs, but the AKG might be a little more revealing with it.
I'm using hola with apple type c dac on laptop. It sounds good. Should i buy this dac for even better sound?
Before you invest in a better portable dac amp, having more transparent IEMs makes more sense to go for. The Hola isn't as transparent as more premium IEMs, so you might get a very little difference between the apple one and this.
@@PaulsPOV Thank you.
Hi Paul I want to ask you that Ddhifi Or the astell and kern xb10 which one should I buy please suggest
They're both for different purposes. One I'd wireless for convenience and the other one leave you tethered to it. If you want higher quality, go for the ddHiFi, if you want convenience, go for the A&K. Consider watching my review on the iFi Go Link vs the ddHiFi Hi-Res DAC.
@@PaulsPOV thanks paul I'd go for the high quality audio listening thanks for the suggestion ❤
Hey paul,
Iam using tangzu wan'er, should i buy a dac to get the best output,
If yes pls suggest me one....
I quite like the iFi Go Link. Feel free to give my review and comparison of it up against the ddHiFi dac a look. The Wan'er is resolute enough to hear the differences between the two DACs.
How will it perform with lightning adapter on iPhone XS?
It should work fine. I've used it on an iPhone and iPad with an adapter and it works well.
Why there's a hiss sound when we use a dongle, happening with me on my pixel 4. Will this be the same case with this dongle?
Maybe you have a cheap dongle which doesn't have DAC.
Hey Paul, this thing doesn't have passthorugh for IOS devices, please help me with one
I dont think iOS supports microphone pass through with most DACs. The one I do know that it works with is the Apple one.
How it is different from the Venture Electronics - Abigail Pro as both has same dac chip? Thnkx in adv.
There's no dedicated amp chip in Abigail Pro like in this.
@@PaulsPOV how does it sound in compare to ASTELL&KERN
Astell&Kern - AK XB10? I do have XB10 , looking for a wired one.
The A&K is limited by its AptX codec. This will sound richer in detail, especially if you're feeding it with Hi-Res audio.
I have a Dt 770 Pro 250 Ohm as well, I use it with my audio interface for recording. Are there any portable (and affordable if possible) DACs that can handle 250 ohm headphones like the Beyerdynamic?
Oh that's a difficult one. 250 Ohms for portable means most portable stuff won't cut it. I use an old FiiO Mont Blanc portable amp to drive my beyerdynamic dt990 when traveling. Maybe check out the portable DAC Amps from the Shanling H series.
@@PaulsPOV it's difficult to find portable ones. I just ended up buying an ATH M50X for regular use.
Although I don't know why they don't make small and powerful DACs. Maybe phones can't output that much power? But the Audio interface I use can be powered just through USB and works fine.
Portable units usually can drive headphones up to 80 Ohms well enough. Battery constraints, I guess. Is your audio interface powered superately, or only has a USB cable powering it?
The ATH M50X was going to be my next suggestion to you 🤣 It's a capable set of headphones, but I don't think it's as articulate as the Beyers.
@@PaulsPOV Interface has both a USB and a DC adaptor, You only plug it in if you need phantom power (48v) for some condenser mics. Otherwise it works just fine through USB. I mostly use it for Guitar and I never plug it in.
Loving the M50x so far, 770s are a bit better but with that comes the bulkiness and 250 ohms and everything. I guess they both have their pros and cons.
Does it have Microphone pass through for iPhone 15 series
As far as I know, there's no pass through on any iOS devices.
Just curious to know if it comes with parametric eq app?
I just use poweramp eq paid version
Will pairing this with Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones make it sound better in wired mode? Or the powered Bluetooth mode will sound better? Phone is Pixel 8 Pro.
Which music player are you used and what is your eq setting of xm4?
Can you suggest any IEM under 2k-2.5k to pair with this DAC
Have a look at my reviews on the FiiO JD1 & KZ ZSN ProX. Perhaps if you like a lot of detail, check out my review on the Tangzu Wan'er.
What do you think of moondrop dawn pro ?
I haven't tested it yet.
00:48 unless you tend on destroying it 😆
Hi , in headphone zone site it is mentioned that not compatible with samsung s23. What exactly is the issue?
Even a normal type c to 3.5mm is not supported on my s23.
But the inbuilt dac of s23 is way better.
I bought fiio jd1 with type c and the sound is fabulous. I use the Harman reference to listen to songs.
I used the same iems in poco F4 and the base was too sharp in that phone but not in s23. The base in s23 is pleasant and not sharp.
Conclusion: Buy iems with DSP if you have s23, no need to buy dac.
There are dacs having the same dac chip CX31993 Chip and amp max97220 for less than₹1000 in amazon ( brands like audiocular)
Does the hz x hifi dac sound similar to that?
Do i really need to spend an extra ₹1000 rupees just to get the same quality of audio?
I've seen but not handled the audiocular you've mentioned, so I can't really comment on its sound, but the ddHiFi one is certainly built like a tank and will hold up through rough use well, which is something to consider when buying these. The last thing you want it a broken or detached cable.
Does the dac have mic pass through on PC?
yep
does this work with iphone
Youll need a lightning to USB C adapter if you have a lightning port. It'll work.
sir will it work on a samsung phone. They always present an issue with a dac. Please respond sir
They've mentioned that it's not compatible with the S22, S23 & S24.
How does it c mpare with th e lg v30 n v60 nquad dacs?ESS Sabre ES9218P?ESS Sabre ES9218P?
I haven't done any back to back with them to be able to tell the specific differences. But I suspect they should be equally good in general. Usually, LG phones have good hardware, so you won't really need a dongle DAC.
LG beats this dongle hands down no comparison
Hey paul my Redmi Note 10s comes with Hires support do i really need a dac?
Worthwhile doing a little research and seeing if it's only software support or actually has a good DAC & Amp chip. If it has good hardware, you should be fine with affordable IEMs.
@@PaulsPOV Thanks man ✨
Sir I bought this DAC and amp and it was working fine with my phone. But all of a sudden it stopped working. If I connect it with my phone now my phone just stops the video,my phone just gets stuck. But it is working on my mother's phone 😢. Sir please help. What to do. My phone is iqoo 12 and I use a gaming headphones razer blackshark v2 X. Please help sir.
I'm not sure what to do when it comes to troubleshooting with this device. Try contacting the folk at HeadphoneZone. They should be able to figure this out.
@@PaulsPOV obviously I did that they said it is a compatibility issue even though I told them it worked fine for almost a month. And they said it does not cover in warranty. Now I am buying a kz's DAC type c to 3.5 mm jack converter. Can you make a video on that ,please.
Oh, compatibility issue is possible. Perhaps your phone went through some sort of update, and this happened. I dont have any plans on reviewing the KZ unit just yet.
KZ ZS 10 Pro - I'm getting electric hissing in the background, it is more evident when nothing is being played, will getting a dac like this resolve by any chance?
What are you plugging into when you hear this hiss?
@@PaulsPOV into my primary laptop's inbuilt 3.5mm jack.
If I plug into my secondary laptop's 3.5mm jack, then I'm still getting the hissing, but much less.
My primary laptop's hissing is too annoying.
Is the hissing more prominent when your laptops are being charged, or is it the same?
Hissing is same as with/without charging.
Here's what I noticed.
I expect this is happening only when my devices are accessing sound output.
If nothing is being played for a while, no hissing.
If a notification or, open any app which uses sound output or any media is being played then I have the hissing in the background.
In some songs/movies when the volume goes down, it is much evident in those situations.
When I pause the media, hissing continues for like 30 seconds, then again dead mute.
I expect after 30 seconds, the application/windows 11 is revoking the access for sound output.
It sounds like an earthing issue to me. It could either be from your laptops or the IEMs earth point or cable has given up. Worthwhile speaking to the folk at HeadphoneZone about it if it's certainly not the laptop issue.
Is it compatible with Samsung S20 fe 5g mobile?
It works well on mine
Sir can I use it with EW200
Of course you can!
I am worried whether i would work with nothing phone 2
I have the nothing phone 2 and it works perfectly
Have you noticed more battery drop than usual after using this ?
Is this work with s24 ultra
Sadly, it's not compatible with the Samsung S22, S23 & S24 phones.
Does iqoo neo 7 pro support this dac ?
I was chatting with someone just a few days ago with an iqoo phone, and he said it worked for a month and then stopped working. Perhaps after some software update. So I'd say it'll most likely not be compatible.
How about Pixel 6a?
Is that carry case complimetary?
The one you see is Review unit.
The Retail unit doesn't come with the case.
@@willi6600 thank you bro
Does it work with s23?
Sadly, no.
@@PaulsPOV thanks😔
Is it compatible with s24 ultra?
Sadly, it's not compatible with the S22, S23 & S24 series.
Can you please suggest me something for s24 ultra!? I'm tired of searching the online and offline stores.
I quite like the iFi Go Link. It should work well, but it doesn't have a microphone pass through. Great for music and media consumption if you like quality audio.
Which one do you think is better for my 1000XM5 (Wired Mode)? Headphone Zone x DDHiFi or Abigale Pro or anything else you're aware of?
I am new to this as my old phone had a 3.5mm jack and this one doesn't. A few of my audiophile friends suggested thr normal c to 3.5mm converters will produce bad output so I am looking for a budget DAC.
I haven't tested the Abigail Pro, but to my knowledge, it doesn't have a dedicated amp chip like this ddHi-Fi one does. This one pushes out 65mW @32 Ohms so should work perfectly fine with the XM5. Another one I've really come to like is the iFi Go Link. I think it'll do really well with the XM5. Feel free to give my review on it a look if you haven't already.
65mW*
🤣 yes, let me correct that.
I'm sad that it's not available overseas yet
I'm sure the guys at HeadphoneZone can try and make it possible if you write to them.
What about ios device how can we use
Subscribe to Apple Music. Purchase dongle, plug into iOS device, plug in a nice set of IEMs to dongle, and enjoy music.
@@PaulsPOV will apple dongle works will i get 384kHz/32bit in apple original dac
@@PaulsPOV or we can use a normal adapter (lighting to female usb c ) and connect to ddHiFi dac will it work 384khz/32bit
The Apple dongle only does 24bit/48kHz. Yup, an adapter works with the ddHiFi.
