      @@saurabhrathore1 Not clear. The Hydro can be purchased with or without the upgraded cable. I bought mine with the upgraded cable and it set me back $103. Subtract $8 and you end up with $95 for the base unit without cable upgrade. Frankly, the cable is worth much more than $8, imo. If you do not already own a nice after-market C-pin/QDC cable, then the upgrade package is a good deal, imo. For sure, the Hydro is a competitive Hybrid at its price point. In fact, for a well-tuned hybrid with 2DD's and 8 BA's...I cannot think of a comparable offering at this price point.
      It will probably drop at least 20% during 11.11, if the wait is worth it. My guess.

    well cca struck gold then, congrats to them. they figured out the 7mm,the 8mm the best configuration for subbass and midbass without implementing the isobaric system. those dd driver actually are refound driver from shure 215 era and monster turbine,at the time it was blue pet driver heavy bass for 7mm and first gen graphene for the 8mm, currently with updated material. i think vision ears are the first to figured out the hidden potential of those driver in crossover implementation, even though they scale down to 6mm. after the bellsing trouble with intellectual right, things changes in mainland micro driver manufacturing to improve, about the ba drivers their are nearly closing in to knowles and sonion just interms of power handling, sound wise they are head to head. the future for chifi indeed promising, just hoping the styling improved down the line.

    These are my 3 favourite budget iems at the moment; the KBear Rosefinch (filters removed + EQ), KZ PR2 og + [400 value filter ontop of existing filter & a big drop in -8k frq] on Fiio K3 dac + bass on, stock QKZ x HBB no EQ
    The KZPR2 is unquestionably the greatest with the right setup; but it needs a lot of juice. If you told me it was worth $300-$400, I'd believe it. Get modding people it's the best thing I've done since beginning the hobby and it's as simple as putting a sticker on top of a mesh and pulling a number scale down. If I was KZ I would return to the KZPR2 and apply extra filtration and re-tune it. Lower the impedence; etc.
    KBear with my EQ is good mostly for Chill-hop, Jazz-Hop, Lofi-hop, some reggae. But on these genres it's so good

  • @TheRebelLion13
    @TheRebelLion13 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i guess this is just a nitpick at this point...
    But i think CCA/KZ would've really hit it out of the ballpark if they went all out and made a specific shell design for the Hydro, to really make that "flagship" statement, to set it apart.
    ...Tony, you just gave me a reason to reconsider KZ/CCA again; hehehe...

    • @jb678901
      @jb678901 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In house economies of scale. Seems all KZ and CCA models follow a common shell/faceplate approach, which I assume leverages their in house manufacturing and QA processes. A deviation from their design philosophy would imply increased pricing. For an IEM with 2DD's and 8 BA's...not sure the brand would fair well at a $150+ price positioning. Also, an alloy shell design of this size would make for a pretty weighty IEM, considering the number of drivers packed inside. As it stands, the overall quality of the Hydro is quite nice, imo.

    • @TheRebelLion13
      @TheRebelLion13 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jb678901 Very good point.
      Actually, I noticed that other brands also seem to be going for that in-house look. ZiiGaat, except for the Nuo and Cinno, has been consistent with the "sparkly details" with their releases. 7Hz recent releases are starting to show a certain signature-look, as well.
      I don't really mind it, if this is what it takes for consistent build quality and keep IEMs affordable for us mere financial mortals. In the end, it's all about the performance of the product.

    For me Hydro needed a little less mi bass.This is the reason it looses that extra tiny extra technicalities compared to P 8.I think also that the upper mids and tremble needed a little more refinement.With a few words with a little less midbass and a little less top shimmer Hydro is a kilo back iem and it doesn t matter if it says kz on its box.. if I could tune it from the start the bass without the switches up in the stock position would be 1-2 db less and the same for the mids and tremble stock position 1 db less than the one it has now.Kz needs to bring up a little more relaxed tunigs especially in the mid - highs.HM is a good example of this but it has too much bass...as you have mentioned.I hope they make Hydro-Hm 20 tuning in the future with the technicalities of the Hydro..

      @@randynguyen6402I've heard about the performer 8, but this is a weak indicator, the model is not the most successful. Unfortunately, there are no time points and descriptions for the video again. Automatic translation does not convey this specific speech very well. In any case, there are relevant comparisons for this price category with the d41/sl41

      @@Ch1versit's a great indicator as the p8 is largely a well reviewed technical set and was definitely not unsuccessful. It was a great comparison to see how well the hydro stacked up to something higher end. and I said up to, there were more sets that he compared it to. You can be upset that he didn't compare it to the d41 but
      you didnt even watch the video so don't bs and say he didn't compare it to anything 100$+ when you have no idea what he compared it to other than p8 after I told you lol

      @@randynguyen6402p8 is mediocre and not so well received at all in the community. Which community are you referring to? Budget reddit community where people usually spend less than 500$ lol

    Ugh, just when I bought almost every single new $50+ IEM from KZ and CCA since PR3, I cannot afford these. I'm sad, but also hype! Sype(?)
