The Spyderco Para Military2 has achieved pretty much perfection. It incorporates many improvements over its predecessor and this makes the blade excel on all fronts. The PM2 is a smart choice as a light tactical blade, EDC tool, food preparation knife, and even as a personal collectible. The 3.8 oz carry weight is outstanding given its nearly 4 inch (87mm) modified clip blade. Credit the very aggressive milling out of the steel liners (shown). The full flat ground gives clean slicing capabilities, the sharp tip allows precise surgical work when needed. Be careful on that tip though; it will bend or break if abused. Steel is the fine-grained, consistent CPM S30V with its even carbide distribution (discussed in depth on the long review version), excellent rust resistance, ability to take a fine edge, and toughness. At this price point, scoring CPM S30V steel is another win in the Para2. It arrives offensively sharp as all knives should. Speed of deployment with the enlarged 14mm deployment hole is outstanding; lock up is tight and secure. A revised bushing system with phosphor bronze bushing probably contributes to that and allows the blade to center perfectly within the pillar constructed handle. In-handle blade retention and detent balance is superb allowing "shake outs" when needed but ensuring knife doesn't accidentally open on you. Ergonomics have been greatly improved with key mods: less bulbous handle, longer handle, revised finger choils, and perfect jimping both top and bottom. In any grip, the PM2 locks in tight and inspires confidence. Also easier will be the threading of your lanyard thanks to a larger hole. The pocket clip is now positionable to all four corners of the blade and features the standard, strong Spydie hourglass clip (blackened in some versions). Value is excellent at around $110 for such a versatile, lightweight, good looking, fast deploying, and durable performer. Since 2008 I've been requesting Spyderco and other mfrs to incorporate several of these key improvements; now the PM2 makes them a reality and becomes an instant TNP Hall of Fame blade in the process.///////////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10

long version videos all the way! (and only!) part of the reason us TNPrs enjoy the project so much is because you spend the time and make long, detailed videos without skipping anything. and like someone else said, it teaches us a lot more/gives a better data point for us to go on when looking at knives/guns/whatever!
    keep up the awesome work!

Hey Nut'n. Both versions ROCK for these knives. I did enjoy the longer version a bit more, loved the steel information.
Unbelievable service from Jeff. I ordered a Para Military2 from TCS today (Sat. Dec. 21, 2013) along with (haha, you buggers!) a large SS Kelly Kettle Kit, and received emails within hours that my order had been shipped.

I was a little worried that we'd only get a 9min review on such a fantastic knife, I'm glad to see a long version.
I like you long videos, for several reasons. I know it sounds super creepy, but you have a really pleasing voice to listen to. I put it on in the background when I'm doing homework sometimes, and I've actually fallen asleep to your multitool review playlist several times.
And you go into more detail than anyone else. I can buy with confidence after a good review from you.

Long reviews are what make you the best dude!!!! If I'm purchasing a product I always come to your reviews! You put weapons and gear through true tests instead of buying it and putting it and letting it sit. Just last night I was looking at your remington 870 mossberg 590 and discontinued winchester 1100 (I think), saw you rated the 870 and 590 both 9 out of 10, just by your rating and great review (not 1 vid but 3 part videos!!) I am now confident in either. Good lookin out Nutn, u da man!

For the record, I love the log videos, in fact the longer, the better. SO glad to finally see a Para 2 review as this has been my favorite EDC blade for a long time. I have a couple sprint runs, and then 2 DLC blade/Digi-cam scales and 1 satin blade/digi-cam scales which I rotate for use. DLC coating has amazing durability - 2 years of daily use (some hard use) and it looks brand new if I rub a little oil over the surface. Everything about this blade is perfect, my Military never gets used now.

I bought a sprint run FDE PM2 in CPM S35VN. Watched your video and had to have one. Also found a really nice titanium deep carry pocket clip. My other primary edc up until now has been a ZT 0560, and this Spyderco just blows me away. Light, strong, sharp, and let's face it...sexy as hell. Thanks for all the great reviews. I've bought a lot of knives based on your reviews and I've yet to be dissatisfied.

If you own a Paramillie, try opening it with your dominant hand middle finger. It is fast, and requires no readjustment to get the proper grip. With this particular knife, i've actually found tip down to be slightly faster, as there is no shifting required.

+Michael StJohn I did. If you have the choice, I'd go with the P2. The steel is better and it's amazing how long it holds an edge compared to the Tenacious.
