The story about Tom reminds me of an autistic friend of ours, save for the fact that Joshua doesn't have a lot of strength per se. This story successfully brought a 51 year old man to tears. God bless the person in that story for not letting the horrors from his encounter at age 9, dull his reason and compassion as an adult. This is one of my favorite stories I have ever heard on TH-cam.

I'm also diagnosed with autism so that first story really did hit home for me. From the sounds of it; Tom has it way worse than I do so to hear this story really does make me happy for him. Most of these stories end either with sadness or an unresolved case so when something like this comes along it really is meaningful.

The ending of that first story reminds me of my ex-boyfriend, who's taking care of an autistic person in a facility. They are often chilling together in a hammock watching TV and simple things like that make him incredibly happy.

instructions:
1. preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a muffin pan with muffin liners. Alternatively, you can grease the muffin cups if you are not using liners
2. in a medium bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour, ¾ cup granulated sugar, ½ tsp salt, and 2 tsp baking powder until combined
3. in a small bowl or glass measuring cup, whisk together 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 1 egg, and 1/3 cup milk until combined
4. using a rubber spatula, fold the oil mixture into the flour mixture until a few streaks of flour remain
5. fold in the 1 cup blueberries until just combined
6. make the crumb topping by mixing the ½ cup all-purpose flour, ½ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup cubed butter, and 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon.
7. use a fork to break up the cubes of butter
8.. spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filling each one to the top
9. sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each muffin
10. bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

The “My Friend Tom” story finally made me realize why Corpse’s voice sounded so familiar to me recently. I used to listen to him orate scary stories a year or so ago. That one was my favorite and has stuck with me.
As a guy with autism, that one hit my heart.
That first story really took a turn that I had never expected- poor guy. It was heartwarming to see that porch guy becoming friends with the storyteller

I have Asperger's Syndrome myself, high functioning. These kind of stories ALWAYS get to me, this, and movies like "Awakenings," "Radio," "Rain Man," etc. I have a hard time watching because they're just people who live in a world that can be extremely harsh beyond reason and seeing them suffer is just too much for me. I feel so bad for Tom but I am happy that the person made a deal with the facility. The fact he can visit his old home makes his LIFE not just his week. I think the mother couldn't be happier considering the situation.

Same with my little sister. Her brain was damaged at birth so she has trouble doing everyday things. We once went to a grocery store and we told her she could get a chocolate bar and told her where to go. I kept an eye on her. I had to tie my shoes so I told her to go in and il be right there. She was looking all around the building looking so confused and it made me want to cry.

I prepared myself for something scary, not something wholesome. So I guess I teared up a little.
I have mild but moderate autism and I just about sobbed at the first story, since my mother worked with people with special needs and did art classes with them. I would go there sometimes and help her set up and I would chat with the people who showed up early. One of them was an elderly women that I would talk about my cats with. It was the joy of my week until my mom quit because the company went under new management. (The new manager would single my mom out and is trying to demolish her art program even after she left.)
