After test driving it last week, I like the Emgrand a lot. That Comfort trim at 798,000 is way better than our 2021 Vios because it comes with the keyfob, rear aircon vents, foldable rear seat, and that very comfortable cabin. The plastic quality of the interior, the texture and build quality is way better than the Vios and other China made cars like the Hyundai Reina and Soluto. The suspension is great too, running on bumpy roads feels so seamless. Even without the sunroof, that awesome LED rhythmic lights, and the digital gauges, the Comfort is a very good choice. Geely designed this car right, not cheap.
For those who are doubting engine reliability, this is powered by a 4G15 Mitsubishi motor. The same motor found in our local 90's Lancers that is still currently being produced in China today. There's no question about this engine. It's near bullet proof.
People don't really know that China car brands partner up with established ones to acquire the know-how.

Nice and detailed content, i must say that this is the best contender in the sedan segment, the question is can it give a lasting impression to the consumers expectations versus the dependability that was given by the vios, only time can tell 🤔

Sir Vince, is it possible to install.a turbo-charger on this vehicle? Please educate me/us on this. Thank you and more power to you and to Autoindustriya.
You can have a turbo installed on most vehicles especially if you know of a good fabricator for the manifold and have someone who can tune it right. But expect that reliability will be affected. And you void your warranty.
Did this car have the same feature as China Geely for the underground 360 camera?

Emgrand offers a lot for its price in a very stylish manner, but that also means considerable weight (fuel economy). And I still feel that having the drive modes in a submenu of the touchscreen infotainment system is a potential hazard because that diverts your eyes away from the road.

It is easier to add/remove software buttons to the UI than adding/removing hardware buttons.
I think they are not competing with vios though they are of same segment
compete with same CVT.... i think in this moment it can beat .

If I was in the market for a small everyday sedan, yeah. But I would go for the Comfort.

product is superior quality basta wag lang negligence. sasakit talaga ulo mo. Yung parts nagdatingan na.
For the body panels, interior parts, etc. medyo rare parin since it is still fairly new. But for the engine, as the video said, it is a 4G15 (Mitsubishi-based) so it has plenty of parts.

Sana isolated case lang. or sana di biglang magkakaron kapag nabili na ung car.
We drove the other Geely Emgrand variant, and it didn't exhibit the hum with the steering. Isolated thing, and theyre figuring out what's causing it. But even then, it's so minor that you have to turn the AC off and mute the audio to hear it in this car.
I think it's the same car they reviewed in the other channel. I've noticed they have same conduction sticker. I hope it's an isolated case too, 'coz am seriously considering this one over the Vios or the City.
