Love that you’ve hung in with the ultra. I don’t do nearly the same distances but love what the AWU brings to the table, compared to a Garmin. I sometimes get antsy about switching but videos like this keep me engaged in it. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I’ve really been enjoying it too! It’s great that I don’t have to pull out my Garmin except for longer races or if I want to use the Apple Watch for something else during my runs. I’ve found that the WorkOutDoors app really improves the functionality of the Apple Watch for running, it’s been great!

Nice tips. Also if you don’t pause the watch Garmin and Strava will show moving time and elapsed time. Love your intro song too. Just realized it was NEFFEX. Amazing artist.

I love NEFFEX, what a great song! So fitting for an ultramarathoner! Also, not pausing my watch would give me good data on Strava/Garmin LATER, but during the run it's showing me have 30+ min miles, so that's the struggle, trying to figure out how fast I'm going during the run in order to make it an effective training run.

That setting you mentioned where your family can keep up with your location- is that an app or something you strictly need the watch for? Would LOVE to have something like that since I’m always alone on trail.

Hey! Great to hear from you! You’ll need to have either a cell phone or a watch with a cellular connection. You can do this a couple of different ways. If you have your phone you can use the Strava Beacon feature (it’s free for the phone but costs money for the watch only) or if you have a Garmin you can use the Garmin Connect app on your phone and use the LiveTrack feature.
