Long Run Thwarted - Underwater Trails
Sometimes things don't go to plan. 🤷‍♂️ This week I tried to do another 10 mile run out on the same trails as I did a couple of weeks ago only to be thwarted by high water levels at Falls Lake. Since I had already spent some time driving out there and doing a little filming I decided to make the best of it rather than trying to find another place to run.
Join me on this short run and enjoy the views of the sunrise on the lake!

    Great video! I'm wanting to run 100 miles in 24 hours. I'm wanting to do this sometime in May of this year. There isn't an event I'm doing, I'm just wanting to try and accomplish this on my own. I'm trying to build muscle, and run everyday at the same time, and so far it's going well. Although, I was thinking about how I'd manage eating on the day I run 100 miles. I did some calculations and I think I'll burn around 7k calories during this. So I'd have to eat about 10k calories, right? Im wanting to make a video of this, for my channel, and I think that I can make this video go viral. I've been planning this for awhile now, but I'm still working some things out. I made a community post on my channel talking about this. If you could comment on there, some advice, if you have any; it'd help me a whole lot. Thank you for your time.

    I kinda feel your pain, except for the injuries. I'm just getting back into running after a LONG time of doing barely anything. In my "previous life" before hardly doing anything, having a heart attack, etc, I used to do ultra-endurance stuff...Leadville 100 MTB 5x's, 24hr cycling events, 6 marathons (without any training), etc., I have started running, rucking, MTB'ing again and it's bringing me a lot of joy. I must add, that the biggest difference in how I feel now is directly related to me completely cutting out alcohol. Night and day difference. And I didn't drink a lot...maybe 3-4 beers a week. When I went down the rabbit trail about the effects of even one drink, it was an eye-opener. I must say that the quality of NA beers has made it a lot easier! Anyway, I really appreciate your content. Thanks for taking the time to share. Keep pushing!

      Hello! I’m not sure what size you are but the men’s sizes are already 1-2 sizes smaller than a comparable size here in the US. Also, the Commando liners are fairly long so those would probably be very visible under the shorts if that’s a concern. I’ll see you there! I’m injured so unfortunately I won’t be running, but I’ll be at aid station F at around mile 31! Your plan sounds perfect! I ran in the Xodus ultras from that point last year and it worked out great! Swapping out there is definitely the way to go. Make sure to say hi if you see me. Good luck and have fun!

    Wow, you did so amazing!! It was fun to see myself behind you!! I was there for 52, no more no less😂. Good luck at Umstead. It will be my 1st 100. I learned a lot at this race and learning lots from your videos as well.

      Hey Lindsey! Thank you so much! Great job getting your qualifier, what a great race to do it at! And thank you so much for watching my videos, I’m so glad I could help you! Unfortunately I got a stress fracture during this race and broke my hip. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m going to try to make it out to spectate at Umstead but I won’t be able to run this year and I hope to see you there. Be patient, follow your plan, and I know you’ll crush it! 💪🏼

      @@MountTinMan oh gosh, I am so sorry that happened to your hip. With your strong ultra mindset, I know you will recover hard and be back when your body’s ready. You’re an inspiration and if I see you Saturday, I be will be sure to run a few miles for you.

    Hi Adrien! That was so nice of you to help out all those folks whose tents blew over! You’re a great human being and an inspiration!! God bless you during your training leading up to Umstead!!!

      Hey Kevin! It was the least that I could do! I know how tough it can be out there and didn’t want people coming in to soaked clothes and nowhere to get warm. Also, check your email, I sent you one in the last couple of days about Umstead. Could use your help if you’re available!

    Great vid! Are you back with the Apple Watch Ultra or are you still rotating with the Fenix 7 (or have you settled on the Fenix)?

    • @MountTinMan
      @MountTinMan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I kind of do a mix. Most shorter runs (anything up to 10-12 miles) I pretty much just stick to the Ultra but if I’m doing a longer run or a race I’ll use the Fenix and wear the Ultra for communication and music.

    You plan on using poles again this year?

    • @MountTinMan
      @MountTinMan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Two years ago I used them for the last lap or two. Last year I only used them for the last six miles. I’ll definitely have them out there this year and will pick them up when I feel need them to keep on pace.
