I really don't understand Sony's strategy here. When the RX0 came out, everyone lamented it's 4K limitations, lack of stabilization and poor overheating performance. Meanwhile their FDR-X3000 has been left langushing without any updates or sucessor for a couple of years. I don't think the market is that complicated. Built a relatively robust camera, rainproof it, give it a mic connection, perhaps native stereo sound with a good native foam windmuff. Keep the BOSS stabilization and then there's a great platform. The RX0 is like... bulletproof but needs other things with it to work, negating the bulletproof design.
Sadly, the premium action cam market seems to be collapsing. :( Hence, the vlogging push with this model. I'd really like to see something based on the FDR design, though.

I don't really get 'vloggers' i guess going wireless with something like the wirelessgo makes so much more sense to me.
That's surprisingly high rolling shutter for such a small sensor. Some optical stabilization would be nice. Why not just stick a flippy screen on one of their other action cams?
Floppy screen may render an action camera not that action anymore I guess! Even for this RX0II I would not risk dropping it with the screen flipped out!

5:45 you can't ask too much from something this size? but the for the cost? I would agree if it weren't so expensive. The price makes it a competitor for many proper vlogging cameras dude! and without having to use an elastic band! For sure a well thought out product! lol
Cause I think the point of the RX0II is the size, you’re paying that much for a camera that small while video footage looks that good, well with pretty bad rolling shutter
@@TheLokCheung It's almost twice the price of a GoPro Hero 7, let alone at that price it's in the territory of a huge range of proper cameras. Size becomes less valuable when you can get much better at the same and for less. They still didnt think through how to support it with accessories, that's not a proper product considering the years of development and worse it's just pure lazy. Nice review though!

I know you are more intelligent than to reply on thier behalf, lol ;) I worked for Japanese companies and was always very impressed that they were always very very professional with staff, product development and marketing. Not sure what happened here though.
RX0II has a much larger sensor and a more “general” purpose 24mm lens. Just like a lot of flag ship smaller sensor cameras has better spec than full frame cameras. The X3000 is more as an action camera while RX0II now is more for general purpose. They are for different market now even though the RX0 originally looks a bit like an expensive action camera.
That Long Tripod looks unstable. Sony should spend the extra $0.35, pay the Chinese factory that makes it for them, and ask the factory to put another 1 inch of plastic on the bottom to extend the base feet. Sony executives obviously dont understand Opportunity Cost.

Hey I found another person who recognized the FYtech gimbal included tripod is actually a great handle for vlogging.
May be not for heavier cameras!

Sony FDR-X3000 has had continuous AF, 4K, mic input, and stabilization since 2016. And costs HALF the price. What is the point of RXO???
