I guess Sony somehow needs to put some limitations on the RX100. Like the 5mins recording limit and no mic jack. Otherwise it might hurt their a6400 line. And because this RX0 has a fixed lens. So they can sort of put the mic jack back plus no recording limit 😉
I wish so much it were ever so slightly larger (if necessary) to have an F1.8 lens, like the old RX100...then it would be the absolute perfect camera for almost everyone I know with kids or pets. It's indestructible, and small enough to have with you at all times.
Just wanna say the main footage in this video has some excellent colour grading! Beautifully warm, yet still natural - good job! Not sure how I feel about the RX0 for myself though. Looks pretty robust, and would do well to fit in some obscure places on a set with bigger Sony cameras to match.

Rodrigo Rodriguez camera has no AF-C so unfortunately it’ll always look out of focus unless your always at the same distance from when you press record.

If you're wondering what possible use these tiny cameras can be for "real" video and not just breaking clavicles on bicycles, I've found the GoPro Hero 7 Black to be an absolute beast for shooting music, dance, and drama rehearsals and K-8 classroom instruction and playground games.

I don't really care about the small camera, but the footage taken with the 24-70/4 makes me want to buy it right now. It almost has the plasticity as the old 35-70 C/Y lens. Amazing!

I like that this has a bigger sensor than the go pro and the mic in this acutally sounds pretty proper. This def souds like the diretion that gopro should be heading. If this had the same IS as go pro it would be flawless.
Wow. Great work Sony! They have actually created something that Kai W didn't absolutely shit on! (Very rare these days). Better yet, they've actually come up with a true competitor for the GoPro. Something with crazy features that could attract someone away from GoPro's awesome branding.
Camera manufacturers take note, fit a flippy forward facing screen and get good reviews from TH-camrs, not that important to most of us, but pretty much everyone is going to TH-cam for buying advice.
It's actually a very good idea. I have older Sony action cameras that I don't use anymore that produce superb image quality compared to any dashcam out there. If only Sony would update the firmware to make them a dashcam (turn on with power and true loop recording)
Hi! I have one technical question about this camera. Sony claims it has effective 15,3Mpx out of around 21Mpx. It would be the biggest waste I have ever heard of! Is it 1" sensor at all? What is the benefit of having such a big sensor, when you throw 30% of pixels away? And what is about the true angle of view and crop? Do I miss something?
@@ronaldso5994The IQ is pretty good for its size with smooth motion. Of course we can't compare this with other full frame sensor's. OP is excellent for travel / vlogging / super quick turn-on-and-shoot kind of situation. It might also be good for some Pro short films with filters and planning.
RX0 more for live streamer? The clean HDMI output on the back is hard to find in that size of camera. Go Pro on the side. Great for on board digital FPV flight camera on a gimbal. That's pretty niche for sure.

5:00 - why should you set ISO to 800 and then compensate with ND filter? BTW, I'm not telling that this camera (or any other) shouldn't have mic input. But it is much more unnecessary here than in some A6*00. There they didn't put it just to make limitations and make model set wider.

Actually you need to re hit the shutter button to re focus when switching distances significantly.

Almost all of the segments filmed with RX0 are out of focus, and you don't even mention it in the end?
