I just started Reverie and your guides are super helpfull, having to build so many characters compared to CSIV
Elise carries hard in the sequence where we have her in the team during story-mode. The higher the difficulty the more I depended on her.
The build I've always run with rean has always been the Ult spamming method
Good to know that Sara is still broken haha. But from what I could tell I don't need to change my party and builds too much from Cold Steel IV. In Cold Steel IV my party was Rean as a CP/Critical dmg dealer, Sara as my evasion tank (I could literally put my controller down as she defeated all the enemies herself, so broken and I love it), Altina was my support character (although I'm thinking about changing my support for this game I just don't know who to choose) and Emma was my caster nuke (I could kill a boss in one magic attack, amazing).
thank you for more of these gd sir. im compiling all of this so that when the game finally comes out i can use this to enjoy the game at its best. does anyone know if the game has any features added if i play on ps 5 or not? still got my pro.
Unless they add additional features specifically for PS5 in the west, the game shouldn't have anything other than running better (the game can lag in menus significantly in the Reverie Corridor, especially late in the game, on PS4).
how does lyyod get stuck with alisa and her mech driving assistant?
Are any of the characters so bad they are not worth using?
Also, do i get to choose Rean's special bond again in new game plus, or do i have to start a new game to do that? I went with Juna and regret it.
If I remember correctly you do get to chose again on NG+.
As for characters being so bad they aren't worth using, it really depends on the difficulty you are playing on; the higher you go the more picky you need to be, with Abyss and Abyss+100 really showing the difference in character power. That being said, I tend to consider Tita and George to extremely weak. Tita has great stats and some good crafts, but her lack of speed is crippling. As for George, he's tied for second slowest and his kit is just bad.

Hmm Sara over Fie for dodge tanking? The dodge buff was irrelevant because i could get fie to 100% evade on gear/orbments alone
Sara is, and always has been, a better dodge tank than Fie. Fie does get 30% innate dodge, but if you maker her a dodge tank then you give up her best craft which is her self-buff. Sara gets 5% innate dodge but can use her self-buff for an effective 55% dodge. With Sara you need less dodge from quartz and gear, freeing up slots for damage. These extra slots for damage + Sara's higher offensive stats lets her deal more damage with counterattacks than Fie. Going with Sara as your dodge tank then lets Fie run her best build which is a perma-stealth build, giving Fie invincibility and 100% crit chance w/o the need to gear for crit.
Can Fie function as a dodge tank? Absolutely. But in doing so you are hindering the full potential of two of the better characters in the series.
@@RozalinGaming fair. I just like being lazy I guess lmao fie's tanking is auto pilot since doesn't need a buff to reach it. Like stick her in the corner and hear her counter "WEAK" while she crits then i can focus on everyone else lol
@@RozalinGaming Coming into post game now, I actually found Le Guin to be better than both of them. I have her on 100% evasion with 5181 strength and 16 craft points per turn regen. Then I have 3 mages with 1 delay casts and double arts halved (quartz + bell on each respecting element) Le guin just gets nothing but free tp while the rest are spamming casts and she gets off 2-3 s crafts for every time an enemy/boss attacks.
Insane damage while being able to operate with my mage teams. Fie and Sara in a traditional build didn't get to play the game with how many turns the mages got before them
Edit: just did a reverie double boss fight, they got 1 turn each the entire time between my mages spamming and all the Raksasha onslaughts, so yeah counter damage def no longer a factor lol not even running Sirius so i can have the cp+ master quartz
@@LilT2o00 In terms of damage there are definitely going to be many characters who will output more than both Sara and Fie as dodge tanks; however, the strength of those two is their ranged counter, which only a handful of characters can do, and even when you do get the point where you can get 100% dodge on really anyone, the extra dodge that Sara and Fie have let them also get 100% magic dodge with minimal effort. Also keep in mind that Abyss, and especially Abyss+100, changes a lot as even with the fastest of characters in your party enemies will get turns, often multiple turns before you do. At level 250 w/perfect gear, late game bosses can easily take 4-5 turns before you get your first. There is also the fact with Aurelia specifically, that she is Reverie Corridor exclusive.
As for mages, yeah they can get some pretty quick actions when built correctly, but even then a properly set up melee team with Rixia's Brave Order will out action them at a roughly two-to-one ratio. It's Kuro 1 & 2 where caster teams really shine by effectively making a melee strategy worthless due to how absurdly powerful magic is in those games, lol. It's actually so lopsided that in Kuro 1, until you get the last character you actually force one of your physical characters (Feri) to be a caster.
@@RozalinGaming true but i'd say like 95% optimal and lazyman. if you wanted to min max it sure, i agree (for reverie i haven't played kuro) but haven't ran into anything that one shots me with magic and i ahve impede so if i can just spam magic and s crafts and get 95% as good as result as min maxing for 20, 30% more effort for 5% better results i'm going w/ the lazy option lol
Will only min max if nothing else works and it's my only option otherwise i don't mind the battle being 6:30 mins instead of 5

Is Reverie basically 3 games in 1? I keep hearing it's the conclusion of 3 Arcs from previous entries.. that's YUUUGE
It serves multiple purposes. The main story of Reverie is a direct continuation of Cold Steel 4, and then the events that happen in Reverie's main story lay the groundwork for Kuro's story. Then there are the side-stories which tie up loose ends and give closure to many of the smaller storylines that played out throughout the first half of the series, and finally the post-game which gives a bit more closure to the first half, ties up the Crossbell arc, and unlocks special story events which are direct lead-ins to Kuro's story.
