Same for me! Beginning of 2024 I could barely walk. Every time I sat I hobbled when I got up. It was horrible and I was dreading a trip we had planned in February. I made an appointment with the ortho doctor but couldn’t get in until late February. I found this channel and began doing the exercises without much hope. It really was a miraculous turn around and only after a few weeks. By the time we had our trip I barely even thought about my hip. I kept my appointment and they said I had bone on bone arthritis in my left hip and offered injections or hip replacement. Thankfully I was able to decline. I don’t even take ibuprofen or any meds. I swim every day for an hour and do the exercises and I am so back to normal. Thanks so much!
The secret is to incorporate the exercises into your lifestyle, permanently, keep doing the exercises, even once it feels better, it’s the only way to live pain free is to dedicate the time
Saw my physiotherapist today that is helping me overcome my hip pain. He works closely with the hip go-to surgeon in our city. I found out today that the surgeon's wife ended up with hip pain several years ago, due to FAI. What is incredibly telling is that she did NOT pursue surgery. It took her 3 years of PT but she got out of hip pain. If someone who does hip FAI / labral tear surgeries as a part of their profession does not push for their own spouse to get one, what does that say about wisdom in the rest of us seeking out this surgery? I think this is very telling.
@@agilesamus wow.. That's awesome that she's able to avoid surgery! I hope to too but the thought of PT for even one year much less three is quite daunting and discouraging. I hope I can get some relief much sooner than that but only time will tell.
The hip videos aren't linked and I really want to look at them, could you add a link in the comments or in the description? If you did link them, maybe my phone isn't showing them. Thanks!
If you click on more under the name of the video, you will see where he talks about her story and you will see the word more again…click on it and you will see all the links!
@UprightHealth sorry for totally off-topic question, but what shoes are you wearing there? They look cool, and also really comfortable (flat and thin soles!). Thanks! :)
I started with hip pain two years ago..I had X rays and the results were there was a gap on my left hip lack of cartilage.....I looked at your site and others to find exercises to build up muscle around the buttocks and saw a physio therapist as well and I don't have constant pain and I sleep well but I can't walk my dogs, ride my bike or anything really physical...I have finally got an appointment next week to see a consultant..and I'm sure they will say I need an op...which I don't really want but I have become depressed about not being able to do the things I like...I'm 68,not overweight and eat a ketogenic diet with lots of anti-inflammatory things
i have been diagnosed with "severe" osteoarthritis in the left and moderate in the right hip. I have been using supplements (so far curcumin and boswelia), diet (minimise sugar and non fresh foods - I am not so good at it i must say) and excercises and its already a lot better.
But what was her actual diagnosis of the hip pain? I am a very active female in my 60's and have been athletic all my life. It depends what is going on with the hip to see if exercises can do the trick....I recently got diagnosed with a subchondral cyst in my left hip joint. All western med suggests is aspiration of it, but it can just fill up again. Also there Subchondroplasty. I am doing some PT now but still have some limitations...along with some L 4/5 disc issues same side. Very frustrating and activity quashing. :(
@@msantello1 have you tried PRP for hip arthritis? PRP injections in each hip has greatly helped me. I’m 65 and feel like I’m 35 now! I’m pain free. They also drained a cyst that I had. Check out Dr Jeffrey Peng videos on PRP, he explains PRP very well. I did not go to Dr Peng because I don’t live near him, but his explanation is

Could you talk about bone marrow edema or bone lesion in the hip. Would these methods help?

I am trying to work my hip pain out as well. I am doing supplements and physical therapy.
Acupuncture does help a great deal. In fact, it solved my hip issue.
What is hip pain holding you back from? What have you achieved so far?

I have the hip program, does the back program fit with it?
I've been diagnosed with "moderate" arthritis in one hip. Can I exercise my way to being pain free?

Stop eating inflammatory foods like sugar asap. I wish I had known this earlier
