Great project plane. Would go for all out REVAMP. Including the gear door mod (removing them), VITATOE IO550TN with HARTZELL 81" SCIMITAR PROP, GARMIN G500TXI+GFC500 autopilot.
Nice, we have a T210N and it has been great. 650 hours in 2 years with only 1 mechanical problem other than routine maintenance. They really shine in the teens, we get around 190 knots true at 17000 feet, and 170 at 12000 or so. Be careful leaning purely off the TIT, it doesn't necessarily peak at the same time as the cylinders, at least ours doesn't.
I grew up in my grandpa's 210. He needed a single engine high wing for his dirt strip and the Centurion fit the bill. He hated paying high greens fees so he would fly to small communities to play golf with his pig farming friends. Save a couple bucks haha. He had a large hog operation in the AZ desert and it was twelve year old heaven. Getting up a 4am to take the pigs to market are actually great memories. Thanks Grandpa!
It's like a little mini van. Love the altitude capability, too. I can't wait to see it buffed up. Leave the seats, they'll be fine, too. Thanks for posting. 😊
My family owned 732GT from new in 1976 until 2012. This plane did it all for us taking our family of five to the West coast from our base at PDK and to the Bahamas and New England. Ours was normally aspirated and with GAMI injectors saw 160 knots on 12.5 GPH. The 210 is very stable for IFR flying and we found ours to be very reliable. Let me know if you are interested in selling. Thanks for the memories!
Back in the 1980s I owed a Turbo 210G for several years. It had a shorter cabin and would really seat only four adults (which was fine with me). Above 8,000 feet it would get at least 200 mph TAS on 16 gallons per hour. And of course it was faster higher in the teens (wearing oxygen masks), which was also great for flying over most weather.
Hi guys, nice plane! I’d put any money into the interior and upgrades to the panel. The exterior doesn’t look bad, probably a good wash, polish, paint touch up and ceramic coating and man, she’ll be looking good. 🇺🇸
My cousin had a C210 (not sure if it was NA or Turbo) based out of FFZ a number of years ago... He sold it to a new owner where it went to Mexico, and as far as he knows (or maybe doesn't WANT to know) it never flew again... Yes, the Feds DO watch those heavy-hauling planes, as you found out going out-bound...
Guys, You did good. I have a few comments. The bonanza is a low wing and no way does the bonanza ride better than the 210. Did you ever see a bird with low wings. The stability of the 210 is fantastic. I had a T-210M and currently own my 3rd 210 and is a P-210N ( pressurized )......which I have owned for 28 years and will probably be selling soon. Love not needing the oxygen masks at high altitudes. The 210 family are work horses. I think your paint will be fine with some touch-up and detailed. Looks like the left main gear door needs some minor adjustment so it completely closes, or tweek it slightly. I fly ROP and true around 180 knots in the mid teens. Have fun and enjoy.
If you press nav 2x on the 55x, it’ll put you into gpss steering. That’s assuming it’s hooked up to the Garmin 325 or whatever it’s called. Also if the 55x has a difficult time leveling off and maintaining altitude, I find changing it to vs mode and setting it to 0 vs is a lot better. Once it stabilizes you can put it in alt mode. It’s a great ap that’ll do approaches to minimums with no problems. Just have to have self awareness of airspeed whenever you set it to climb or descend. It’s the only feature it lacks is ias mode imo.
Awesome trip! You score another terrific buy...take a profit on it and never look back! Thanks for keeping Christian out of hand cuffs this trip! Be safe out there!
Great plane. I might be biased but I only flew a Cessna 172 for my few hrs of training. I think they are so big brand and been around forever for a reason. Wish I could work with you gentleman. But my short comings are many. Boohoo me. lol. The paint for 210 just needs touch up and bluff. Original paint is nice. Interior looks ok. If me. Such a great platform I would spruce up the inside with new and maybe some upgrades on instruments. Really up the planes worth and or ones personal comfort. Of course I get it. Open that bag things get expensive quickly. Appreciate you all. God bless
T210L is a great plane. I actually picked mine up from Elk City a few years ago. I also run mine at 27.5/2300 and usually see 155-160knts at 13-13.5gph.
Heck yeah Jeffrey & Christian!!! I'm very excited to see the third Cessna 210 that you own now, and the newest. It has a lot of awesome features and additions ngl.
From 69 on when they decreased the wing dihedral they added rudder/aileron interconnect..that's the trade off for the awesome stability...I used to keep al my maintenance items..luggage and anything else I had to carry back in the baggage compartment to get the cg moved back and reduce elevator forces...looks like a great xcountry addition..I'd hang onto it
We own a C210L - normally aspirated, and it's a fun plane to fly. Would recommend taking the gear doors off - there have been incidents in the past with those being the main culprit for gear up landings. And you won't suffer from parasitic drag either because the location of the wheels are aft enough that the air wraps past the wheel wells.
Love the 210. Did survey all over the country in one for a year. Even went up to FL210 in one over the Rockies for a photo mission. Beast of an airplane.
Jeff, I owned a 1977 T210M bought new in early 1978. Put 1200 hours on it over 12 years. It was essentially bullet proof over its life even with ARC 400 radios. A slightly different engine than the L model, 310 hp, with higher mp. Easy 185 kts at about 12,000' at 65%, but once saw 310 kts GS (65%) on a trip from MRY to BUR at 17,500. We used careful engine mgnt during its entire life and no cylinders. First thing I noticed on your bird was your left rear gear door was a bit droopy. What kind of exhaust are you running? Knisley exhaust is worth it. What was you IAS at 12K, 16K and power setting?
The airspace restrictions in NM are for missile launches. You don't wanna be anywhere near those restricted areas. they close the highways for the launches as well.
We own a sister ship 732GH since 2017. I don't think of it as a minivan, it's more monster truck and Italian sports car combined. We regularly go into the FLs with it, best GS was 237kts! Be very careful LOP, big bore Continentals are temperamental as a super-model. Treat them well, and they'll treat you back well. Think of the fuel as coolant fluid in addition to go juice.
4 blade SCIMITAR MT-PROPELLER with DEICE. G500TXi, GFC500-G5 COMBO, GTN750Xi/650Xi combo, TXi EIS. PRECISE FLIGHT SPEEDBRAKES, VITATOE IO550TN CONVERSION, R-STOL is what I would do. Add the FLINT AERO TIP TANKS. Whelen ALL LED conversion.
Good timing on this video. My friend and I are in the market for that model. And, I would just hire a really good detailer to restore the existing paint and leave it at that. A good detailer will get that thing like new.
I would hang on to it! Additionally, just polish up the outside and clean the inside, boom! Still looks nice. Instrumentation needs upgrade, the priority for any investment in the aircraft. IMO
OMG, you boys both look so good with haircuts...oh another plane, I almost didn't notice! Dang, that was a long day.....I like the Bonanza for style and flying joy....burn that Avgas!

Excellent visibility vs a Bonanza A36, with the Cessna high wing. Not a selling point for everyone but some will like it just because of that. Great if you have little ones.
Watch the main spar like a hawk. Make sure the Airworthiness Directives (ADs) have been done and done correctly. Great plane but the main spar is the Achilles heal for that aircraft. They should have left the struts on, IMHO.
if you are basein that on the fact they ALWAYS HAVE A CFI with them, well *II* would too, having enuf money to HIRE A CFI to get the ''training time in type'' is a good thing when pickin up a plane sight unseen and watnot... eh, they are flying all kinds of airplanes, why does it matter if they are proerly licensed or not, they are gettin hours in type w/training... soooo win/win in my opinion ;)

With the turbo check the POH for how long to idle the engine before shutdown. The turbine section needs time to cool down before shut down so you don’t coke the oil in the turbos bearings.
Great plane! Congrats! We had a T210L, R and finally an N. Absolute workhorses and fast. My $.02; paint touch ups, paint correction and ceramic (maybe new decals). Interior looks pretty good, just needs some love. Maybe some upgraded avionics (maybe) and new panel to clean it up a bit... Congrats again!
With a turbo you should let it idle for 4-5 minutes when you land because if you come with the turbo you can cook the oil in turbo it causes cokeing the oil being Cooke inside that red hot turbo .
