$2000 Hamburger Run In Our New Cessna Citation 501SP! (Terrible .91 MPG)

  • Today we do the classic $100 hamburger run in our newly acquired Cessna citation 501sp. Except, it was more like a $2000 hamburger run considering the ridiculous fuel burn and maintenance costs. As you saw last video, we bought this plane in cash and flew it home 1800 miles. In future videos will talk more about operating costs and more about these legacy Citations. We're loving the new plane and can't wait to possibly to some upgrades :)

Going in there one summer the aircraft ahead of us was having trouble geting it on the runway and attempted a go-around. They didn't make it and Crashed on the west slope of the mesa. We diverted to Flag Staff.

Later on about $4,500 a month I was able to afford a P-Baron, and occasionally hire a frend and his Lear 25D for business trips. Today, $4,500 a month is poverty level, and I can hardly afford to drive. Fly safe, and think and plan for the future guys. Cheers!

@@ishankramer Ultimately it has a lot to do with life cycle costs, especially if you are selling the aircraft. Landing gear has scheduled maintenance and replacement life.
