Randy Rhoads got a writing credit on every track on this LP and his much brighter and complex neo-classical guitar was a big departure Sabbath's sonic sludge. Ozzy's lyrics are always very insightful. The image and name of Black Sabbath was just a good way to shock. Ozzy is a really nice guy who comes across as dim but he's not. Listen to the lyrics of War Pigs from Black Sabbath - it's not about doing evil it's about the evil that men do. In his solo work, his lyrics were the same way. It's so nice in the video that they show Randy Rhoades going up to heaven since he tragically died at 25 in 1982.
The CLASSICS were all I knew but now I’m excited to hear new artists who are trying new stuff, however I can hear the older music influence in many new ARTISTS. OZZY was used my oldest daughters HIGH SCHOOL’s Graduation. It was INCREDIBLE. OZZY has some BANGING MUSIC 🎼. Thank you for reacting to his music. My daughter’s dad loved BLACK SABATH and I didn’t because of my upbringing as well. Some of his music is pretty clean.
For the full impact of the song, barrel down a hill at 50 mph. on a freight train carrying 14,000 tonnes of crude oil and then swing around a curve in the rail and change tracks while waving your hands in the air. It's liberating.
Wow, I am 58 years old and have listened to this song for a long time. I am not one to be into lyrics but seeing this and reading the lyrics at the end, this is a song about mental health. Again, WOW, Ozzy never got recognition for this. As you said, haters said he was about the occult and he was never given props.

I think it was around 1982 when after a concert Ozzy took a piss on a section of the Alamo. He was banned from San Antonio TX. For 10 years. In 1986 I had to drive to Austin to see him in concert. Mettalica opened for Ozzy, the stadium was not up to the task! Large tiles started falling from the ceiling (like 20’x20’ tiles) during Metallica’s set! It was insanity! I was in the second deck right next to the right of the stage, and people were literally ripping out the chairs from the flooring and throwing them over the balcony into the lower crowd while the ceiling tiles were falling. First responders were on site giving first aid and hauling people out for injuries. It was truly insanity. one of the wildest concerts I’ve ever attended. And then Ozzie was absolutely on fire for his set.
There was a VHS that came out about 30 years ago called "Don't Blame Me", all about Ozzy, it was basically a biography of him up to the year it came out. Clips of the kids & Sharon, and even Randy's Mom was interviewed. It was really great.

Yes, this is his solo music. I saw him perform this live. The energy in that stadium was crazy!! ❤❤❤
Yes!! Love me some ozzy❤❤❤
I saw Ozzys Bark At The Moon tour! It was Awesome! He has always been a fave of mine and my brothers growing up! I Don`t Know and Flying High Again were always my faves! Please do more! and RIP to my favorite guitarist Randy Rhoades,,I missed seeing him by a few months 😔
Played at most Sports Games. Love his music.
“Mama I’m coming home” is my favorite too
Ozzy's lyrics are always very insightful.
Oh yeah, you are gonna go bananas on this one! Cool for the playlist!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🍌
Randy was the only guitarist that i thought could hang, live, with Eddie. He was amazing!!
Never knew the lyrics to this song! The message is awesome.
This is off his first solo Album Blizzard of Oz with Randy Rhodes. One of my favorites
Revelation Mother Earth is a must react. Make sure it's the live version. 🤟
_Killer Of Giants_ is another good message one.
He loved the shock value but his vice was his manager and she was brilliant. He was a great singer.
Ozzy Ozborn and Lita Ford
"If I close my Eyes forever,"
is killer!
Tony Iommi
Anthony Frank Iommi Jr. (born 19 February 1948) is an English musician. He co-founded the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, and was the band's guitarist, leader, primary composer, and sole continuous member for over five decades.
I was less than 20 feet from stage center during this tour. Randy Roads on lead guitar! The OZZY CD Randy Roads Tribute is SONG FOR SONG the concert I was at!! Randy died about a month after the concert I was at. RIP RANDY
The funniest thing is on the Osborne CD they talk about living next door to Pat Boone and getting him to cover Crazy Train for the TV series the Osbornes! Pat does an amazing version of this song!
Rest In Power Randy Rhodes,I saw you live for both Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman tours, you were a legend then.
That guitar player sir was the late great Randy Rhoads. One of the most influential guitarists of his time. He passed away in a plane crash in 1982. Please check out his work with Ozzy and Quiet Riot.
You should check out Mama I'm Coming home or Road to Nowhere. The messages and reflection that Ozzy gives in those songs is almost heartbreaking.
Crazy train and War Pigs, 2 of my favorites from "The Prince of Darkness"
