I agree with this, I'm sure you'll be heading over to Clans in a couple days where build will be more conventional, so go nuts with the BS builds here.

You need to drop some cooling on the Rifleman with the Royal Heatsinks and Artillery, because you're dropping to zero heat well before the Artillery even finishes its cooldown. So it ends up just being a waste of tonnage and heat management.
I like playing the Rifleman IIc with quad large pulse and as many heatsinks as I can cram in. On chain fire you get a constant barrage of laserfire and you can ride the indicator right at the redline without shitting down if hou have to.

Just use chain fire, and watch as you destroy the whole map by sending one stealth wifi enabled mech to scan the map. Frankly a single rifleman with extra ammo probably can sweep an entire map on one of those stealth missions with no survivors, you detect it? There's 8 rounds of artillery incoming. and frankly you don't need the secondary weapon, the whole volume ought to be ammo bins with CASE. Just leave your rifleman a friend to keep swarms off.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 yes, exactly, that's why you need the Baradaur 2, it's a ballistic based super heavy that could run 3 P. Arty 8s and 6 huge ammo bins, combined with a light mech equipped with a void system/armor, you can run around wherever you want and leave no mech standing.
@@Primearch-GG wouldn't the AI just waste ammo given that atlas don't even need 8 rounds to disable? I know that the triple artillery would be a cool build, but it seems absolutely a waste of ammunition using 24 ammo while waiting for the shells to land. I think a single artillery in that, paired up with something like Sensor scrambling backup weapons that won't break your own cloak subsystems (so probably missiles over PPC) would be optimal, while keeping the deep ammunition stockpile. I definitely think the guided artillery being parked in a base defense mission will be hyper effective, but it probably might need a good rotary autocannon setup on chain fire to deal with the helicopter swarm to stop it getting sniped by dozens of flying AC20 in orbit.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 mw5 ai works on weapon group plus weapon range bracket, it why Baradul's lance always goes in close because he almost always puts the mid range backup weapons on group 1 when he's testing the mech's build. For this support build he would just need to place each weapon in it's own group i.e. group 1/2/3 and probably manually target enemies; three orders of fire on three different mechs in quick succession followed by a hold fire order mean no wasted ammo, and he's own mech should be able to deal with one or two enemies at a time. Plus if he keeps the other two mechs near the Baraduar 2 they can act as body guards. I'm pretty sure TTRulez has a guard this unit order for that.
Always wondered why artillery weapons don't agro, do they borrow code from the artillery strike call down? Suppose that makes sense given the name. Fingers crossed modders are able to port their work over to Clans, would love to walk out the gate with mw5s crazy equipment.
The arty might be strong but it isn't a 6x clan PPC Kaiju level of overpowered with the single click deletions and ready to go again in a few seconds into eternity.
If guided artillery were this accurate in the base game, mechs with traditional mech weapons would be obsolete. Just lock on with artillery using a mech with artillery and enemy mechs will die. Just wondering, are you going to keep this series going once Clans comes out or are you going over to Clans in full and finishing this series?

mw 5 is good but the single player game is broken. the expansions just confuse me with timelines and restrictions ... like wtf it should be integrated way better into base game. cannot swap out engines... wtf guys wtf. i know there is a mod... F that. 5 expansions and i cant upgrade an engine come on. yea no war horns either.... are they even trying?

The statement about one ton in the description is wrong but actual weight isn't (20 × 100 kg = 2,000 kg = 2 metric tons).
That P.Artillery 8 with a good probe or a light mech with narc or tag to scout for targets would be a deadly combo
The preision artillery AOE explosion damage probably crits all exposed components provoking ammo cook off very often.
Imagine having two of that on a King Crab! Raining hell from afar!!!
I think go Crazy and do a build that is all out, get the Dire Wolf and or Warhawk that is point and click wit hall the Dans Cooling

this arty has a very, i mean VERY BIG drawback. Those shots are actually rockets and as such they can be easealy shot down by enemy ams.
