That is not a mech based around melee combat. That is the mech equivalent of a guy with a cloth soaked in ether, knocking you out and then beating your head and torso - with a very large hammer - until you die. ;)
They just released MW 5 Clans 23 mins ago. I'm about halfway through the download now. I'm looking forward to the continued content from Mercenaries here... but I have a sincere feeling that we're all going to be able to forgive you for any delay in the continued "messing with Dan's stuff"!
Artillery really needs to be aimed at the feet, so that if you hit, you instantly take out both legs, and if you miss, you still do massive AOE damage. If you aim at the torso and miss, it's going to hit behind them, and do no damage (unless you're lucky enough to have another enemy directly behind them).
That doesn't seem to really be enforced. It's base stats in storage show a 13.6s cool down and a dps of 4.412 so it doesn't seem to be the mech that's the issue. It's just not a great weapon for an investment of 30 tons.
Was thinking the grenade launcher as a supplemental weapon ...maybe autocannon or light rifles maybe have that in urban mech. Give it some jump jets with maybe a mascot?
I love watching the multi-build episodes! But it's sooooo painful to watch him scavenge the list for stuff to pick on the first mission of a multi-mission. Wish he'd just save it for the next one! How many times have we heard "wish I had one or two more picks"? Gah. But awesome watching him try out the new stuff!
at some point weapons of any type are op. the bonkdraw, the artillery rifleman (artyman), the dervish w/ arrows. i think just make fun builds have fun with it, then trade it out for another op build when you get the desire

What is the point of having mods on if you're not going to use the equipment?
Arty Array requires a minimum mech tonnage of 80; it's in the tooltip, the very last listed specification in the table. It might work with Dan's 300 ton scaling?
The problem with allowing players to design tanks in Battletech/Mechwarrior has always been that they largely stop being inferior to mechs at that point. :) The vast majority of their inferiority comes from terrible designs. :)
Ammo cooks off from overheat, maybe? Not sure how that works in MW5, much less with mods. I know I have seen it myself, nothing like this, but I have not much gotten to use heat weapons.
my guess is the granades have a min range they need to arm themselfs, else its like u throw stones at the enemy, sure heavy stones of metal, but for a mech thats prob like rain for a human >_
I haven't played merc in a while but i know even still that splash damage is weird in the game so that grenade launcher damage is not being counted. Because in result screens it doesn't so why would it count ingame.
I know you've started on Clans, but I'm still waiting for you to use all the Dan's cheating mods on a light mech and just totally load it up with heavy weapons and have some fun with it.
very likly during hte weekend due to the delay for the me 5 clains only delayed it for a extra few weeks for the most withc the uptodate relsie datie i know of its bacly the next day with by the time buardul uplaods it would be ablvie for bardul to by in there time zone. so very lickly might be the next few uplaods if budurl has the funds of it.
The Kodiak has been my #1 favorite Mech since Mechwarrior 2. The "Spirit Bear" hero is amazing in the mod.

You missed the fact that you needed to put the arty array in a mech of at least 80 tons as listed in the tooltip

inferno SRMs and boosted melee weapons are a filthy combo and I love it.
I'll look to adjust the Supernova's hitboxes, I think there might be a gap under the torso to hit the head hitbox.

Two things Mechwarrior needs: more realistic damage mechanics, and the ability to modify and pilot tanks.

I'm a bit confused about the Dan's volumetric rescaling upgrades. Is there a guide to what each one does?
It adds crit slots - "Dans volumetric 15" adds 15 crit slots. Dan's volumetric 5 adds 5
