The Locust is a trap. It always dies. I just remove its engine, and sell the mech. Put the engine in a heavier mech (Cicada), sell its engine (280), and buy if possible another mech (urbanmech or so)

I see the old House Liao start tradition of lose your Locust on the very first mission and don't get it back until several missions in, is still alive and well, even on modded. 😄The Firestarter seems like the way to go, but you have to pilot the Locust for the first few missions or at least play out on an open field where the light 'mechs can evade easier so you don't lose it for a while because it got cored out. As soon as I can find a Flea, especially a Flea-17, I usually put the Locust into cold storage to save for missions where the tonnage limits makes it so you can only take out a Lance of light 'mechs. 🙂 Also, when I start a new campaign, I usually like to start out in the northern Periphery. In Battletech lore, the people from the outer worlds are pretty much the only "faction" that aren't a-holes and dishonorable POS' in some way and well then there are the Taurians, but they're a different story. People from the northern Periphery are mostly just simple farmers, merchants, business people, etc and you can help them by fighting pirates too for some interesting fights and duels.
Feels like that's the POINT, like they're awesome for defense and a nightmare in an urban environment or something. (Of all the good things in MW5, I wholeheartedly disagree with Vic's assessment of Urbies)
Very glad you did mods early. The vanilla mech lab is just so lacking and boring and it really makes build sections kind of meh. Looking forward to this.

Being able to use the hold and trace pulse lasers from 3 is awesome! Nostalgic Sounds Redux - Changes a lot of how the mechs and weapons and environment sound! They guy who made the mod put tons of work in and it shows!!! Hope you enjoy and thank you for your content!
I've started watching this a few nights ago, first time coming across your videos. Love your relentless optimism, you're very enjoyable to watch as a result. One request, though - you link to your mod collection, but that collection is missing your load order and any form of instructions to actually deal with the incompatibilities in your mod list. For anyone wanting to "play along", that creates a bit of a barrier. If you could slap your load order in there and/or anything else you'd had to do to make things work - that would be mega appreciated by many viewers I am sure!
That dropship roadkill reminds me of the ages-old teaser trailer for the game Dreadnought, where a wing of initially badass-looking tactical bombers gets smeared by a titular dreadnought coming out of warp and a female voice reports "minor debris impact".
New plan forget the mechs name the drop ship Bigsby and just crush everything. Love the new play through, so much to look forward to seeing it all from the start. Seems you be grinding the weight classes a bit longer as you piece the mechs together and I'm all for it.

Great to see a new start. If you want to make it even tougher, then set yourself profit goals for each year of play. This can keep you under the same pressure that you experienced in the last DLC, where you are making choices to run with what's at hand and trying to figure out how to get things done with what you've got. It beats the "time doesn't matter" approach for excitement.
well 2nd one was assassin and it did fight with urbanmech, but it went over the hill and was not seen after that near jenner that bara hunted down.. lol that rhienna swatting 3 bug flyers in the end was so funny lol not see that ofthen lol

When you were fighting that Flea @27:42 He ran into your arm and killed himself. Hooray for Collision damage in MW5 being able to kill your enemy or you. I got ran over by a Catapult walking backwards into my Hatchetman and it cored me just with the walking into me. It never shot me
The Betty voice addons for lance mate breach etc can't be disabled AFAIK. The YAML leopard upgrade system isn't implemented yet (it does nothing, just a pretty picture).
Ah I see the Pilot Overhaul Mod still works for you.. for me they went back to vanilla without extended stats and Mech Affinity after the new DLC released, even after updating the mod :/ But nice to see another From zero to Hero Playthrough 😁 Cant wait to see more!
What a coincidence. I started a new career with the YAML mod on Liao last night. I ended up downgrading the Cicada's engine and running 4 machine guns and a PPC-X. I didn't know if it's actually good, but it's fun
I actually completed a DLC#3 campaign playthrough using nothing but FrankenMechs & the Corsair Hero, & the last mission of the campaign - which is what I'm guessing Piranha used as the model for the Beachhead Defense missions in RoR - I BARELY had to use the repair bays, & the wind one only because of the hankering one of My AI pilots got after the first fallback.
44:14 was that scripted or just luck? Never had it happen to me but maybe it's part of one of the mods? Looked funny as hell, thanks for sharing that xD

Well, i restarted a career with all of your mod list, restarted 3 times already. Im getting my ass kicked and money is vanishing just fixing my mechs up. Watching this video made me realise that its normal and those mods made this thing super hard. Gona be a challenge for sure.
While I do enjoy Bara mech action one thing I wish he pay attention is the faction he’s fighting for and against, I know he want to make some quick C-bills and action but watching him throwing rep left and right especially at the early game where it’s so important for negotiation points it’s quite painful to see but I’m just here for the struggle 😂
Wish they would make the dropship part of the game more. As in you can upgrade it, use it for fire support and it can in turn get damaged by incoming fire etc.
I think your friends ran towards the Urbie at the end due to a pathing algorithm problem. I have noticed that in some tight squeezes through rocks with the enhanced Bio's that the AI can't figure out a path through and "goes around" instead.

Mech Salvage v1 gets you parts for the mech and putting them together gives you a random variant iirc, v2 salvages the specific variants.

You should check out the new mech pack 'Exotic Inner Sphere Mechs'. Its a collection of new inner sphere chassis with super detailed models.
In modded Games Urban mechs are pretty scary, especially in early Game😱

I think the reinforcement dropship does not come because of a mod, could be Coyote mod.
She says that when adds are triggered, regardless of the dropship or not, because there isn't any other audio clip that says "there are adds coming"
