Since this review is taking forever to post I decided to take my Magnum .22 today to the range and shot at 100 yards. Despite the wind blowing from the east I managed to get 15 shots within the target. Can't wait to head back with some heavier grade pellets for better accuracy. I was using the Gamo Rocket for this test.
And also they are very heat sensitive it was only 85 degrees today and the gun would not hold zero it kept wandering all over the place because of the way that the barrel is made to the hinge at the receiver.
I just bought a Gamo Magnum 22 caliber air rifle and it did not come with a scope that you showed on your show it came with a cheaper scope and it was damaged and I tried zeroing open sights three or four times and I'll clean the barrel five times on 300 rounds I want to maybe I should have cleaned it more or whatever but first five or ten rounds will hold zero but after that it's gone and I have to start all over again
I've noticed that the piston power plant rifles do a lot better when they have extra weight down towards the muzzle. even that little weight of an otherwise useless 'sound moderator' can dramatically increase accuracy. just put a 1/3 lb of steel on the end of my Octane after the 'sound moderator' malfunctioned. immediately got my accuracy back. with those 'magnum piston' guns, the barrel just flaps around too much. wish the manufacturers would start putting real bulldogger barrels on them. it would extend the accuracy range of them. my Octane pushes a 14.3 gr out around 900 fps. that's enough to deliver a fatal shot on rabbits and squirrels out to 100 yards. if the barrel can be tamed. I'm around 600 pellets thru it and it still hasn't settled down completely. I'd assume that new gamo will perform about the same way.
Im looking to get a air gun, and am not sure on brand. Not sure but think id go with the 22 cal version for pest control and some hunting. i want to spend no more than $300 or less. What is a no nonsense just works recommendation? i hear so much back and forth with gamo products unfortuanately, and was wondering about the RWS 34 series. Its too bad as the gamo rifles dont look too bad. If i went with a gamo might be a fixed barrel. What do you think? thanks
I have many older Beemans R1s, R10 and other springers I have 5 different Hatsans which use different pressure air pistons. I was never keen with Gamo, until I decided to try their Accu model. I was very impressed. I tend to avoid ag's that use the word magnum and inflate speeds. The Accu .22 shoots 14.3s right at 700fps, so its around a 15fpe gun. It's the only ag in my inventory that has shot sub 1in groups at 50 yards. I have many 26-28fpe ags and they do hit hard. However, they are very hold sensitive, so it harder to get confidence shooting them. I have found the that a 15fpe gun will kill a raccoon, woodchuck, opossum just as dead as my "magnum" ones out to 50 yards and feel confident hitting it where I need to, due to less recoil.
probably not... this rifle is pushing so hard that it's almost super sonic all the time. You can't quiet the super sonic crack so adding a suppressor is really pointless. Now, we'll also be looking at the new Gamo Whipser Fusion Mach 1 which has an integrated suppressor. It's not as powerful, but it's quieter and a lot easier to shoot. cheers AGW
It would not be any quieter. The noise unless the pellet isnt going supersonic, comes from the mechanics of the piston. You can take the so called supressor off a Gamo silent cat and it makes no difference in sound.
+lukes 2777 - we just shot a video yesterday. It will be a while to get through post. We've been traveling for over a week and have a lot to get sorted when we get back to the office. Cheers AGW
They kind of are. Being produced in Spain which has a unemployment rate of over 20 percent. Often times leading to those employed in their factories earning minimum wage which results to poor quality control. A popular proverb related to it is. "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys."

been interested in this rifle for a little while. i'll be looking forward to the full review!
I would not say they are junk. it will not shoot like an Air Arms, but it is good for close/medium hunting.

The warranty work takes 4 to 6 weeks once you send a bad one back.

bull barrels*
Is it near par with the fps of the Hatsan Mod 87 in .22?
FPS on the Mod 87 in .22 is around 800 with lead pellets. The 125 class is more in line with the out put of the Magnum.

will that rifle be produced in a model with a silencer?

+Michael Thalman yes ive seen that video aswell. I just think the supressor makes it look cooler..
+HuntingSouthAfrica_ Makes for a good stabilizer and handle to cock gun...
what hapens with the full review???, thanks
