I been going on about this gun for 2-3 months now. I didn't plan on buying another airgun as I had just bought a Swarm Magnum Gen 2 less than a month before. When I see this gun on their website I instantly started researching to make sure it really was a steel and wood old school rifle with Gamo's Magnum powerplant and everything pointed to this being correct so I had to have one. After shooting the Swarm magnum in .177 I knew I had to have this gun in my collection. Almost bought a second one because it was so nice. With a scope and JSB 15.89's this gun breaks the rules for magnums and accuracy. Dime size groups at 30 yards with just a basic springer hold I use on my lower powered airguns. Pure magic.
I have a GAMO HUNTER 440 made in the 90’S I was lucky to find it the rifle is almost not used it looks like brand new and it’s 32 years old, it’s amazing rifle , small light weight, easy cocking and powerful almost 1000 FPS , good quality build,,and I bought IT cheap if I compare whit DIANAS , or , HW’S , i love it and it’s in my top 5 spring air rifles..👍👋
I bought the Gamo Jungle springer on special around 2020 it is a great rifle , powerful and good accuracy out to 40 yards. The only set back is that it has to be held very firmly, no artillery hold , to get the gun to shoot precise. At sea level it shoots the 14.3 cp 22 at 930 fps. The open sights are bad , the stock set up is too low , but the gun came with a very good Gamo 3-9x40 scope that has taken 2 years or more of beating and is working just fine. I prefer spring over gas ram because the first is easier to cock and usually gives more power.
I've been shooting a similar .177 Gamo rifle myself. Put a new coil spring, piston seal, and used tune in a tube in it. I'm 1250 shots in since rebuild. and it's doing great. Love it. I really need to get a .22 break barrel like shown. I don't have one of those! I dig the old school single shot style too.
I would love to see this in .25 caliber, and multi shot also. I really do like a magazine on a break barrel. At my age fumbling around for a single pellet in a hurry for a follow up shot is not as easy as it used to be unfortunately. Still .22 cal is easy enough compared to selecting a single .177 cal pellet :) .22 caliber in an airgun maybe the ideal size, and lord knows we have a much larger selection of ammo styles in said caliber. .22 is a great all around caliber for pesting, hunting, target, and plinking. My over all favorite pellet in .22 is Daisy Hollow Points 15.4 grain 2nd favorite JSB Hades 15.89, and 3rd 18.13 JSB Diablos for the longest shots. Great review Rick. Thanks.
I’ve never owned a gamo I can’t tune to shoot accurately. Can’t say the same for any other entry level guns. Gamo barrels have been on point since day one to be honest.
Awesome looking gun, when will this be available? Will there be a 25cal? Gamo should come out with some coyote bullpup design regulated, 22cal-45fpe & 25cal 60-65fpe, power wheel on it, they really do have some nice airgun....good review 👍
I'm a gamo magnum igt mach1.22 owner and I found out the hard way gamo won't sell a replacement piston seal or the nitrogen piston to its customers..😂... your expected to buy it and put it in the trash when it needs a simple service..for me this makes gamo a complete fail... Benjamin trail np magnum is a better choice simply because you can buy parts to service it..
Hey Rick, Thanks for the great video. I'll be looking forward to when Gamo comes out with the synthetic .22 Swarm version, with the BSA OUTLOOK 4-12x44 AO scope, three tins of their best heavy hunting pellet, gun buddy sling, bipod, and carrying case. Please suggest to Gamo to save their customers the hassle of looking for the accessories when Gamo already makes them. We don't want to spend extra time and money figuring out which brand of what weight pellet or slug to buy, and where to go online or box store. They should know by now that if someone is going to spend that kind of money for their premium product, they will pay for quality accessories. Or maybe Gamo can sell the gun separately and put together a separate hunters package with the three tins of heavy hunting pellets, bipod, gun buddy sling, carrying case, and 4-12x44 AO scope, and for extra value a "free" , laser/light combo kit. That way, if shooters want the full line of Gamo packaged optics and gear they can buy it or if they want to buy a non Gamo/BSA optic on their own and different accessories, they can. Thanks again for a great video. Hope you recover fully and soon. Stay Safe, Be Well, God Bless.
If it would be available in .25 this would be the only gamo I'd get (metal breechblock!!) but as it is not, i got another .25 125 snioer.. 34 accurate fpe 😌👍🏼
I have the 125 sniper in .22. The Hatsan 125 Sniper I have sits in the closet cause it's heavy and super hold sensitive. I did manage 1 inch groups at 50 yards with it when I got it but it was only once and a lot of work making sure my hold was exact after cocking and coming back down to shoot. Not sure what the draw is to 25 cal in a break barrel. This gun shoots 15 grain pellets @ 900 FPS to get the best accuracy and a flat shooting gun. going to .25 cal and up I save for PCP's where I can still get at least 900 FPS. Then there's the extra cost and having to order .25 cal with no local options. Just doesn't make sense for lower FPS and 1-3 more FPE.
I just ordered one of these I've ordered two of the magnum GR .25's and had to send both of them back would not group for nothing, barrels were too loose towards the front and we're not choked I shot over 800 pellets through the both of them and look like shotgun blasts on paper... I'm hoping the hunter extreme is a lot better than the magnum GR. The GR is useless with the iron sights you could not get your face low enough on that thing trust me..... Not bashing gamo cause it seems like they're getting on the right track especially with the metal breach blocks +1 !! Honestly gamos get a bad rap and some of them are really good I have a swarm magnum Gen 2 that I constantly get quarter inch groups at 25 yards!!! I've gotten a few gamo's that didn't group well also but I've gotten more dianas that didn't group well then gamo's believe it or not... Anyways thanks for the videos man
The Hunter Extreme Pro .22 is on sale right now. My theory is they want to reduce inventory .. BEFORE .. introducing the .25 version. It just seems like they will. I would like a mechanical spring option .. or said another way .. I would like to get a Mangun GR .25 Spring .. but with a wood stock! I would have bought the .25 Magnum GR Spring by now (I like the army green synthetic stock on these too) .. but they have not put it on a really good discount for many months. I will be patient.
Rick, enjoyed the review. Since we're going retro here, maybe you can give me some advice on my 10-year- old Gamo Bull Whisper Extreme, .22 cal. You probably remember doing a review on this springer airgun. I have given up trying to scope it; have broken (3) good scopes with the gun, but I like the power and overall feel of the rifle. Any recommendations on adding open sights? Possibly installing a rail and mounting open sights? I realize the sight radius would be somewhat short with just (1) rail. Your expert opinion would be greatly appreciated!
I just bought my new Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro. It's my first break-barrel and I have a few questions/concerns... First, should it diesel on it's first few shots out of the box? I've only got about a dozen rounds through it, but every shot has produced smoke in the barrel that I'm able to blow out after each shot. I've been using Gamo Red Fire pellets and the report is very loud, about like my Ruger 10/22. I ran about 20 patches through the barrel before I ever shot it just to clear any factory residue as it was quite fouled prior to shooting. Also, the report is very loud even when I tried a few of the Gamo felt cleaning pellets. Is this dieseling normal during break-in? Also, a friend recommended that I use a drop or two of silicone oil like RWS chamber oil in the compression chamber every 1000 rounds. Is this necessary? I've called Gamo but didn't really get a definitive answer on any questions I had. Any help is much appreciated.
Is this one a springer or the 33mm inert gas? I own the sec gen bone collector with the 33mm inert gas chamber multi shot ! And i tell you its a monster to shoot i get out about up to 50 yards with it but usually shoot at 30 to 35 on the average!
The mechanical springer version most likely will last quite a bit longer than the air piston. It really is to bad that Gamo doesn't allow for purchasing parts like springs/pistons/seals etc. A lot of people do not live in a disposable world. And would like to keep their guns longer than a few years.
You should consider a scope. One thing the scope does is put everything on one plane of focus. Old eyes dont need to be quick or sharp. I should know... : )
The action looks like the 22 magnum swarm , except the plastic is replaced by metal . And no magazine. I have the Hunter Extreme in .177 caliber and it likes the Crosman Ultra Magnums 10.5 grains. Mine was made in England not Spain and has the nice bull barrel instead of the pickle.
if the thin air was the reason ,then a pcp would not get more power and speed from helium , i think its the moisture in the air ,At sea level there is more water in the air , that gets in gasform by compression and wil keep the air longer at heat and so the volume.
Hey Rick, your review of the .177 Gamo Hunter Extreme was not very positive. So what changed? Is it just the nostalgia? This .22 is probably a lot more likely to hit the target because it has iron sights and the previous Hunter Extreme didn't. Plus this will be less affected by instability because it is a .22 and will be shooting heavier pellets or slugs. Are there any heavy pellets or slugs in .177 that you would recommend for the original? What about heavy .22 pellets or slugs for the Hunter Extreme Pro in .22? Thanks. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
I see it's nothing more than a bone collector stock with a Gamo Magnum action from previous models. Like I said before too bad they don't have a passion to build a true Premuim line that can compete with the like of Air Arms or Weirauch. They already own BSA and I just don't understand why they just mix parts with previous models. They could have made a beautiful rifle but all they care about is Volume= No true Passion for building something to be proud of. However they did hit a Sweet spot with the Bone Collector G2. But just didn't hit the mark with the beautiful workmanship like the UBER . Hell the gun is already hitting the 300 mark just a couple away from the UBER models.
I have a bone collector Gen 2 that I never even use I've had it for a year because it's not consistently accurate enough for me, autobot two of the 25 caliber GTR's and they were terribly unaccurate as well sent both back what, yesterday sent a hunter extreme back again not accurate, I think if camo just slightly choked their barrel if they would be a lot more accurate.
the thing is is that no other manufacturer makes anything like gamo does as far as light and powerful & 10 shot repeater they just need to be accurate and they're not. i have weirauch's and dianas as well, but as far as carrying and for hunting i'd much rather have a lighter gun like gamo but.......
Do you have a Federal Firearms License? No? Gamo will not sell you parts to repair or replace. I wouldn't take a Gamo if you gave me one. Why? It'll need a part, and Gamo wants you to buy a new rifle, not repair the old one.

I bought that gun 3 months ago and love it I put a Diana zero recoil mount on it with a scope no issues with the gun or scope so far

Pretty nice 😉👍. Gamo needs to keep going in this direction.
I’ve never owned a gamo I can’t tune to shoot accurately. Can’t say the same for any other entry level guns. Gamo barrels have been on point since day one to be honest.
Very cool rifle love break barrels
I loved the metal sights that was on my old gamo whisper csi camo rifle. So much, I bought one of these recently. Woot
Beautiful rifle! A .25 cal will be awesome! 👍
Rick sweet old school pellet gun , be safe man
Gamo had that on sale a month ago.
I picked the fusion 3i
Still waiting to get some 3i magazines.
I wish that gamo would make an under lever pellet rifle with the same power as the hunter extreme
Awesome looking gun, when will this be available? Will there be a 25cal? Gamo should come out with some coyote bullpup design regulated, 22cal-45fpe & 25cal 60-65fpe, power wheel on it, they really do have some nice airgun....good review 👍

Have them in eu same gun here hunter 1250 grizzly pro igt.
Love to shoot with it. Locktide the stock screws.

You should do an air pressure calculation chart and add it in as a window

Will the tune in a tube work?
Not really. It’s a gas ram. TIAT works great on metal springs. It’s really not effective on gas ram guns.

7:35 LMAO
Can u tells me ,what’s power (ATM)of Gas ram in ?
The mechanical springer version most likely will last quite a bit longer than the air piston. I’m from India I have same one but it’s not giving more then 22-23 ftpound,so pls tells about its power which u r using in demo
the face you make when you shoot your chrony lol
You should consider a scope. One thing the scope does is put everything on one plane of focus. Old eyes dont need to be quick or sharp. I should know... : )
My Walther Parrus is too powerful. Can't keep a scope locked down no matter WHAT. Has extremely hard recoil
It’s counter intuitive, but using two piece mounts may work best. I use Hawke Match mounts and make sure to set the stop pin.

🍿🍺👍
How does this compare to the Gr Gamo?
Hehy there.. it's gas ram vs spring and the wood stock makes the gun more enjoyable to shoot. (in my opinion).
Cheers

I can't find what my gamo hunter 1250 stats are. It's .177 cal made in Spain.
40 to 50 lb cocking effort?
Scope killer?
Yes
Mine has been so far

PITA to cock
I need to start eating my Wheaties, makes my arm sore cocking this air rifle.
Try shooting it at the Dead sea in Israel you may get 2000 fps
