haha while that sounds fun in theory, Rice is often so busy that it could be a little overwhelming to try a potluck! Perhaps a different location like Lafarge would be more amenable to that :)
Love watching bobber drops with my morning cup of tea. Great vibe in that video. Glass rods are not easy to cast if raised on graphite. They are a lot more sensitive to line weight and can be more easily overloaded and the casting cadence has to be a low slower. They take a little getting used to but well worth it when you catch a fish due to their increased sensitivity.
Thanks Ian! One of my more recent goals with videos is trying to get the vibes right so that I enjoy rewatching them later. Bobber downs will NEVER get old haha It was a different experience with the fiberglass. Makes me want to just play with different rods every now and then just to try new things! Euro, bamboo, 1-3wt rods... maybe even Tenkara... (probably not tenkara)
Great vid! I enjoy watching this in the middle of my coffee and study session lol, especially with the relaxing b-roll you had. Can’t wait til you’re more free to post more video!! Hopefully we can do a trip together
Start at 3-4 feet. Go down a foot every 15 minutes or 5 casts if no bites. By 8 foot unless there is zero fish activity I switch flies. But if I know they are deep sometimes you have to go 12&16 feet down, best to cast from the dock for this!
Would you be interested in a trout Catch & Cook video at Rice Lake in the future?
Make it a potluck! 😊

@RosinFlyFishing Deer or Como Lake is an option. Similar to Lafarge, but closer to downtown. Not sure picnic area. But an idea nonetheless 😊
Yep! I live right beside Seymour conservation reserve and am just getting into fly fishing, I need all the beta I can get! 😂
yessss!
really nice day it was which created a great atmosphere for the video
Thanks yeah it was a nice morning :)
Great video guys! Those pancakes looked great!
Thanks! Haha, no IHOP, but edible! I'll take it over burned :)
fresh pancakes and fly fishing, what a great combination!

Thank you, that is very kind! 😊

I definitely had it on difficult mode with the weight of they fly I had on there. Just not enough mass in the line to effectively move that fly.

Thanks dude! I hope to edit a bit more and post more. And hopefully we can fish in AB this summer or BC this fall!
Nice spot with some good production. Catch and cook would be great!
Thanks guys! I'll count the vote for catch and cook :)
How did you find room for back cast there?
I basically casted sideways, not directly perpendicular to the shore haha. Obviously I had a little difficulty at time ;)
Glad to see those leeches are still going strong! They've been killing it for ice off out here this year.
They are great flies and tied well! I'm a huge fan of the proportions on these guys! Thanks again :)
You gotta try casting my 3 weight loop Rod, I can get it out a good 60 feet
We need to set this up sometime🔥🔥🔥
Great video as always. Was wondering when you were planning on going out for Capilano coho?
Not sure I'll be targeting them this spring!
@@RosinFlyFishing too bad they are some of my favourite videos!
Just wondering how deep is the fly below with indicator?
