WOW What an amazing adventure in such a stunning area. And, a wonderful video. I hope to learn to fly fish some day. I was envious. Thank you for sharing this great journey.
Your content is out of this world. These videos are heavily underviewed and shared. Your work on these videos is unmatched and I appreciate your effort so much. You're extremely talented and truly impressive what you know. Very well done.
Now that's what people need to see you actually going out there I'm doing a real thing. Not like some people advertised in their backyard or something going out for a good adventure is what we strive for I think the more people do videos like this the more stuff to buy and a more better adventures people will have it's too bad you didn't have some kayaks but the drone was a good idea anytime I go on the river I always got a drone to see what's ahead of me for a mile or so you can never take too much you got to remember the Indians used to live this way every day of their life if they could have done it for thousands of years we surely can do it on the weekend or a week just have to make a plan and when you come back you're going to have the best story of your life and a smile from ear-to-ear thanks guys for the video you need to do more like this even in some canoes or kayaks God bless you and may God bless you with many more videos
Looks like an amazing trip DJ!!! While I am not much of a fisherman anymore, I still have all the gear and the Daiwa rod and spinning reel that my parents bought me when I was young as well as my tackle box with the very first Rapala floating minnow lure that my Opa gave me which I used when I fished with him♥. Also, it is good to see Woods and Ready Wise gear on your trip 🙂. I had to build up my camping kit from scratch in 2022 and I ended up getting a lot of Woods gear from our local Canadian Tire when the items were on sale. Haha the only thing I would change about their stuff is I would make the colours more natural and muted (browns, olive greens, maybe come camo options) for their tents and tarps. Other than that, Woods is definitely great gear for the price and can get you outfitted without breaking the bank 😁. Also, the Ready Wise freeze-dried meals are reasonably priced (about $6-$8 cheaper per pouch than Peak Refuel or Mountain House) and readily available at most Canadian Tire stores 👍.
What an incredible journey and loved your commentary. You allowed us to see the true nature of what is the “plan” and the real outcomes of when that plan doesn’t work. Epic movie you put together. Can really see that your passion is the outdoors and adventures. Well done!!!!!!
I’m as impressed with your woodland fishing and climbing skills as I am with your cinematography. I’ve tried to record some of my adventures, but I couldn’t find passion for the recording, i found it too difficult. Well done, and thanks for sharing your travels.
Thanks so much!! It’s really tough even for me to record while doing this stuff, takes a lot of extra effort that takes you “out of the moment” in a way Thx for the words my friend!
@@TheBearEssentials i can relate to that. I remember huling my big ol camera on a big trip to get a sunset shot on a mount. I realized I was trying so hard to catch the moment that I missed the moment. I hope you blow up so your efforts continue to be worthwhile. This was a great video.
@@TheBearEssentials got a few mates who love fishing they always head up to Scotland for some fishing trips amazing place to camp aswell also Northumberland were I'm from is one of the best in the country 😎😎👍👍

@@shawncaufield Oh awesome!! Yeah for sure. Nymphs that worked well were oink headed hares hear / pheasant tail / and frenchie. Dry's were hoppers and caddis!
What are your thoughts about using some type of ascender rope gear thing to get back up the falls? I know nothing about these but just a thought for next time w a similar situation.
Josh and I have done some Type2 fun trips to have massive rewards, but this. WOW. That is some Type3 fun shit with a massive reward. Phenomenal video DJ, those trout were absolutely beautiful. I can't even imagine the feeling of getting in there and knowing there's a 99-100% chance NO ONE has been in there. I could go on forever about the different beauties I saw throughout the video, but instead, I'll just say ... thank you for sharing this!!
Rob thank you so so much man!! Haha type 3 fun, now that rings true!! Ya this spot was just mind blowing, and pretty much felt like everywhere you looked there was something incredible. The trout was a nice icing on the cake!!
Probably one of the better videos you have done so far I really liked it. Also since you were measuring the fish was this part of a reaserch trip of sorts for any of the parks or conservation groups? and did you ever eat any of the fish? I dont actually know what the Canadian laws are on that.
Thanks so much for saying so!! No measurement was only for personal reference really. We didn’t eat any of these fish in the canyon. Regs will allow you to, in Canada there are small limits on fish and a season ofcourse, but sometimes in a place like this where the trout are a bit more rare - as the flood sort of hurt the population of them - we decide not to
@@TheBearEssentials I havnet been there yet. i have heard the legends of Nahanni valley and the spooky stories. I want to go there one day. Awesome video, thank you!

Thanks for watching! I’m glad you can live vicariously through this one !!
A truly breathtaking adventure. You need to explore that area for a good 2 weeks. Maybe even try panning for gold.
Not a bad idea!! I never even thought of panning!

Sometimes I do sometimes not. This trip was more just for sport
truly amazing, that gravel slope really did look sketchy, especially with the 30 meter cliff right underneath.
Hey Felix, it was super sketchy! Especially in my waders.. I wish I had my hiking boots for that one

Why couldn't you tie the ropes together and use the knot that holds while there is weight on it and then you wiggle the rope and it comes down?
It would be extremely risky and I’d only use that knot in a life and death scenario pretty much. Wasn’t worth my life to do that haha.
Is that the Nahanni Gorge? How did you survive it there??
Hey!! Looks like it, but no it’s not. I’ve been to Vic falls and the nahanni before. I take it you have too? Now that’s some wild territory

Why do u catch fish and not eat it. are u toying with the fish?
