For me, Poppy Playtime itself doesn't interest me; Each chapter doesn't seem to have too much content and the best part is just a heavily scripted setpiece, which kinda ruins it once I watch a video break down just how limited it all is. However, I do have to say that despite how much I suck at online multiplayer against human players, I seem to find these multiplayer horror games more interesting than their singleplayer counterparts! Project Playtime actually looks fun and interesting compared to Poppy Playtime, just like how Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals is also cooler to me than its singleplayer counterpart. (I actually own it.)
@@XaneMyers I don't have dark deception, but I really think you put up a good point, I enjoy watching it, but the thought of playing it was a huge no for me.
that red box you see in the survivor tutorial was meant to be a hiding spot it is shown in the gameplay trailer and we dont see them in the main game so i think they just removed it since it might of been to buggy when trying to get in fast so maybe they will add it in later on
If I had to guess, the reason only the generator “puzzle” was implemented (as of right now) is because the others have problems. For the box pressure plate, a player could either intentionally or unintentionally move the box really far or get it stuck in a wall or something, making it unreasonably hard to do, and for the 3 people on a pressure plate that would be hard to coordinate with randoms, but also could lead to a scenario where there’s only one player left alive and now they are unable to win despite playing well.
I have an idea, so you can set a placehold model for when a model doesn't exist in unreal engine, sorta like the errors in source engine, and i'm assuming that the trains were objects that were later deleted from the files so the train replaces them, and that's why you see them in very odd locations.
Actually, based on the fact that they possibly first imported the train model from chapter two, then edited it, it's very possible that yes, they do replace the unfound objects, as the train model may be the first model in the model list!
Seeing the untextured BSPs makes me feel so much better about my level designing habits! This tells me that if I can just make a level like these, somebody else will do the rest of the work. Also, I feel like everybody online HATES BSPs for some reason.

the map at 14:45 could be empty because it would only be suited for one camera angle which is why I predict the menu screen at the beginning would of had a theater background to it instead of the one we have right now or it could of been used for an early icon for the Theater map
The game is early access and is VERY buggy. It is horribly optimized as well as multiple other issues. You could try since it's free but just know before you get disappointed.
I'm curious, with the Foundry planned, what monsters are coming? Clearly, the Chapter 3 monster(Bron or whatever) will come, but I feel like there would be ANOTHER monster with him.
Those messages are done by putting a "Text Render" object into the map. I use 'em for graffiti in Pub Of The Dead, for any Pavlov VR players. Bonus speculation. LPGATE may stand for "Learn Player Gate".

seeing the orange glow on that one unused map after having seen the trailer that just dropped yesterday, that’s absolutely the incineration destroy-a-toy map.
Oh yeah... I've heard of those splatmaps. Essentially you take an image to use as a mask, generally for fading between two textures, you would have a black and white image to use as the mask layer. Black would be texture 1, and White would be texture 2, and inbetween would 'fade' between the two textures. Some examples for a more advanced version of this where you could use the mask texture for the R G B and Alpha channels allowing the developer to utilize 4 different textures! A perfect example of this was Halo 3 utilizing this texturing trick on the multiplayer maps to make the textures blend together really smoothly, or rough if you have sharp transitions.
There’s gonna be other games about poppy playtime so you have to make sure you pay attention of these because they’re not released yet and I think the developer didn’t Planned it yet. But there is gonna be other games
For the area with splat maps, it looks like a lot of testing with decal projections and some aren't stretching like they'd normally would by default. Just a random thought but I'm familiar with the default decal color and how janky it gets in when distorted. Probably making material instances to make decals a lot easier. Edit: Also reminded me of when I messed with world projection in Unreal so materials would align no matter the unwrap
12:40 that Huggy model is actually from chapter 1! Tericho's mentioned it a couple times, he usually calls it the 'cursed Huggy'. Most of the boxes of mini-Huggies found around the big Huggy's platform in chapter 1 just have normal small Huggies inside, but one of the boxes features this cursed one. It's even in the exact same pose, so it's definitely the same model
4:48 I just realised that for the unused stuff in Chapter 2 with the keybind activated emotes. The emote that didn't make it, the middle finger, was with clicking "F" and "U" on your keyboard. F and U sounds like "F, U" like saying "Fu**, you* but the "Fu**" is "F" for short.

I believe the middle finger will never be added. Here’s my reasoning. I believe the multiplayer mode aka what is now project playtime was supposed to be apart of the main game. The main game being more of a mature experience, they could get away with the middle finger being added, but I think as the project went on it became too ambitious for it to still be apart of the main game so they decided to make it it’s own separate game. While the base game is a mature survival experience, project playtime is completely a kids game to say the least, they made it to appeal to kids so they can get that sweet dough. If they decide to throw in the middle finger, parents might not allow their kids to play game and they might have got a certain age rating, meaning less mommy and daddy’s credit cards being spent but who knows, I might be completely wrong
I think it would be cool if there were security cameras that the players could look through to find the monster. So the players know where not to go. Or a game mode where players work together to stop a monster from entering a room their trapped in. Like five nights a freddys but it requires teamwork and solving puzzles fast enough before the monster can get to the room, and after some time a passage opens up leading to the next room or a route to escape, the monster could be AI or have a player control it. The monster has to go through obstacles set by the survivors by completing puzzles to get to the room and theirs multiple paths to go through to get to the room.
