Keep in mind: The head developer of Sonic 3D blast actually made a video explaining how the intro for 3D blast was even made. It’s not as simple as just putting a FMV on to a cartage. He talks about the struggles to get the colors right, the correct compression to save on space, and even then- it was thrown in last second so even if they wanted to make a better animation they couldn’t- and had to keep it very short, and at like- 7 frames per-second. And I mean this as no disrespect to the guy who animated this one! I just wanted to pass that knowledge around.

Hey I don't think I installed it properly and I think I experienced a placebo, can you tell me if I did this correctly? First I downloaded and installed xvid like in the description Then i downloaded the file And then I replaced the corresponding file in the game folder I know this sounds pretty normal but heres where I start questioning So for fun I put a different .avi file in the same spot and started the game but for some reason the game started playing the original .avi intro instead of the new one so it got me wondering if this first .avi actually did anything because I didn't see any noticeable changes when I first put the new one in and it looked noticeably worse in-game than through playing it in windows media player. So can you help me?
@@rottenmind6991 Well in both cases I deleted the original intro and in the second one it still played the original so it might be stored somewhere else? I replaced it in the CDDATA folder
@@Ducky27_ It looks like you're using the original CD to play, that's where the game loads FMVs instead of installation directory. Google "Sega PC Reloaded" for solution.
@@rottenmind6991 I am using Sega PC reloaded, and I did a bit more of looking into this and did some comparison between the original and your mod, and I found that it did work, I could tell by the improved framerate. But now I'm wondering why the second one didnt work, I did the same thing for it.
Yeah, I mean you would need the whole 3D session (of whatever 3D animation software T.T used for the intro/ending or the graphical design), also maybe the 3D file, not just the video file, that would just be impossible and wouldn't make any sense at all.

Sega ported a massive amount of games to PC under the Sega PC brand. Sonic 3&K, CD and 3D Blast got ported (strangely 3DB is based on the Saturn version).
