    Protests continued in Hong Kong through the afternoon and into the evening of November 14, 2019. The fifth day of intense demonstrations again centred on several university campuses and business districts around the city. Student protesters fortified barricades and extended roadblocks, and fans watching Hong Kong’s international football team compete in a World Cup qualifying match booed the Chinese national anthem and sang Glory to Hong Kong.

Which will plumet North Korea into becoming democratic and HOPEFULLY, the north koreans become capable of getting jobs or at least staying supported so their next generations are capable of being part of the modern world

    I am a pro democrat myself so I have been on these protestors' side for a while now. But some of their actions here, such as kicking someone who spoke back against them and setting a dumpster truck on fire with petrol bomb. The protestors are getting so out of control they think only their opinions matter and there is no other, they are like a group of terrorist who beats up whoever don't agree with them. Also, the people on the dumpster truck are just trying to do their job and these protestors are putting their lives in danger just because they drove over the bricks they set up. of course, i know these people are fighting so hard for their simple rights, but some actions can not be tolerated.

    • @noopyx3414

      This movement is a proof that average HKers are not capable of controlling freedom or democracy. Don't always blame police, those rioters themselves are the real evidence. I am always believe that once the society(education/economy/wealth distribution) is highly developed, the democracy will come as a bonus. Democracy is not a necessity for the development of society, the prosperity achieved by western countries are not a result of how much democracy they own, but how much effort and determination that the government put into to make people live better.
      The majority of HKers are not awared of this point.

    That guy was right, people do have the right to do an assembly.
    But then comes the question, why does the police all over the world need advance notice for any large assembly?
    Not that hard to answer, because uncheck freedom will interfere with others freedom and create conflict, that's why the authorities need that permission issued.
    Seeing how these "assembly" is severely going out of control, these people should probably think before exercising their rights.

    • @alwayshatingyou7676
      @alwayshatingyou7676 4 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      Assembly is of course perfectly acceptable, but not at the cost of others who have their daily lives to go about i.e. working to earn a living. These "protesters" simply don't understand that by building barricades and blocking roads, you are not even letting others have THEIR freedom and peace to do whatever they want. By now, they must realise that their generation is fighting for a lost cause now and that no one is supporting their TERRORIST acts.

For China, it's about geostrategy, not about Hong Kong itself, rights, protesters, etc. pp. 30 years ago, China was still economically dependent on Hong Kong, now geostrategical considerations are more important. China could have it both ways if it opens up its system, and grants individual inalienable rights for all its people so that Hong Kong would be happy to join mainland China.
