      @@MrSpiritmonger I don't' know who's sponsoring your comments dude, but the protesters were fighting for the freedom of the people, not the oppression of people. The police were doing the opposite, trying to crush resistance and dominate Hong Kong. Neither were perfect, but the protesters were morally better. Also, the police serve the people. They cannot try to evict moral protesters and then say the land is their property. The people funded the university, so by your logic, I would say the protesters are defenders. “You know what is law right” laws are rules imposed and enforced by the state. In case you anarchists don’t know, rioting is against the law in China, US, UK, France, and most of the world. The only difference is China has the guts to stamp out rioting, while the US can only appease them, which is why you have Antifa and BLM thugs running everywhere, destroying and looting properties, and holding entire streets hostage for weeks.
      There’s so such thing as “illegal party”. They have the most control, and thus they’re the legitimate government. If you don’t like that, go start a revolution and dethrone them, but until you succeed, they’re the legitimate government.

    Wait did we ever find out what happened to the remaining protestors?

    • @foorack
      @foorack 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Would be interesting to know as well. They probably found the best hiding spot in the building and bunkered up with food, stayed for a bit and went out when coast was clear. If they switched from protesting gear to civilian clothes they probably could even distinguish themselves as cleanup crew.
      UPDATE: "Amid dwindling numbers of protesters in the university, the police entered the university on 28 November to look for stragglers and to clear the premises of hazardous materials. After a two-day search that failed to find any holdouts that remained, the police lifted the cordon on 29 November." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_the_Hong_Kong_Polytechnic_University#28%E2%80%9329_November:_End_of_the_siege
      So they most likely managed to hide (likely) or escape (sewer?) (unlikely).
