      The Sharps pistol and single shot shotgun with a magazine may have only been suggested because they were running an in-game event with a paid battle pass including those guns as unloackables. But I believe the event is over now, so if it was in fact just trying to show off battle pass rewards, this video came out a little late.

    • @kykiske321
      @kykiske321 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There is absolutely nothing strange about the technique of reloading the bullet after firing a round.
      If you fire a bolt action gun, your hand is not going to pass the bullet automatically like a robot...
      A bolt action rifle fires and to pass the next bullet you have to pull the bolt back to eject the empty shell, and there you decide if you want to pass the next bullet by closing the bolt, or if you didn't pull it all the way back the bolt you can place a single new bullet in the chamber to close it and shoot.

    • @jadenbrooks6115
      @jadenbrooks6115 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      @@kykiske321 I'm totally aware of that. However, hunt showdown is one of the only games I have personally played where you can perform this technique. He specifically mentioned enjoying when games, rather than just giving you an animation, allowed you to more finely control the features on a firearm. Therefore, I thought he'd find it interesting that hunt showdown included this feature.

    • @siegeart2555
      @siegeart2555 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@kykiske321 most games with bolt actions like the ones in hunt, whenever you reload you do a full reload and magically keep the bullets. In hunt, if you do a partial reload with a bolt action you'll lose 1-2 rounds unless you have bulletgrubber. Losing ammo also happens on the lever action Winchester and Mauser with partial reload unless you have the perk bullet grubber. Where you catch the ammo being ejected and save it

    As far as the top rear receiver marking on the auto 5, I have several that were among my grandad's duck guns. One of them, from when he shipped them to New Orleans form Belgium in 1922. The 16ga is marked as such in this location. Our current theory is that as this was before FN actually started importing them in 16ga in 1923, the port of Orleans required all non commercial imports to be marked. Given that this one also had an extended magazine tube installed by an official FN smith in Brussels, and the marking lacks the yellow and green gold inlay, we think this was a special request he made to the factory. Granted this is all form 100 year old paperwork, and a highschool level of French....

    Well, that's just great. Been watching Jonathan talk about gaming weapons for a very long time now, and it's so good that there's one developer out there willing to look into his critiques of what he sees. (And being completely honest, why wouldn't you? If your game is looking for accuracy, Jonathan is basically handing out free tech support.)
    If anywhing Winnie Soo is playing the game flawlessly. She watches these, fixes what Jonathan talks about, comes back around, actually asks him to look at certain weapons, maybe he has gripes with them, she fixes them again. I just hope he gets a mention in the game's credits for those free audits. But overall, everyone wins. From Jonathan, to the developers, to the players.

      Did you know the Auto 5 is pretty much the only autoloading shotgun that can cycle high brass like slugs, low brass like birdshot, AND also the old blackpowder loads that would've been somewhat common during it's day.
      The recoil ring inside can be flipped during reassembly to change how it cycles low power loads, or completely removed for black powder shells.

    • @Dezzyyy
      @Dezzyyy ปีที่แล้ว +14

      ehhh considering the time frame of the game it only half makes sense bc of the setting. many of these rifles would be almost new thanks to the manufacturing dates and due to the Great War not having taken place yet. MAYBEEEE only weapons from the Spanish American War would be so beat. otherwise most would probably be less than 10 years old. most would be like 5, so they'd be in a lot better conditions, especially not having rust on them.
      fits the games grungy zombie aesthetic tho.

    I really like the animations in this game. They just feel, I don't know how else to say it, meaty. Like you actually feel the recoil and carefully go through the reload process. In a lot of games reloading and firing just seems like a mild annoyance but, the detail they put in just gives a lot of character to the gun.

      @1lovesoni ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the way reciver lets you come up with your own reload system is very cool. But it requires a lot more effort from the player to get good clips as opposed to just pressing the "reload" button and waiting for the animation to finish.

    • @BackwardsPancake
      @BackwardsPancake ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1lovesoni True, demonstrating advanced gameplay would take some time. But the game does have a "shooting range" mode, so getting a little practice and just demonstrating all the guns and mechanics should be simple enough. • @1lovesoni

    Thanks for another really great video. So many little details that are so cool to hear about. The only thing that I think is still missing are examples of PvP gunplay, rather than just shooting and beating up grunts/zombies, because that's where the game actually shines. It's also where the audio of the game really shows its strength. The visual representation of the guns and the gun mechanics in Hunt are cool to highlight, especially because Jonathan has a lot of insight on those, but the audio is part of what makes this game unique on the market, because it turns every engagement into an investigation that's a matter of life and death, both in close and long range encounters.
