I have a 2021 Tiger 850 sport. I used dealertool to reset my service interval, and it worked perfectly. I use an old laptop for the program, which makes it convenient to use in the garage. One silly thing came up that I thought was a problem with dealertool until I realized what I had done. The service interval came back on, and I couldn't reset it with dealertool. The interval was correct, and the date for service was next year. After refreshing some brain cells with a beer, I realized I had recently disconnected the battery and threw the clock out of whack. It also threw the date out of wack, and for some reason the date became the service interval's date. Once I reset the clock and calendar, all was OK again. I suppose the bike makes the calendar date the same as the service interval date so you know you need to do something with the bike. Clever and stupid at the same time.

@@petesterna1254 when it comes to electronics, “clever” and “stupid” are both excellent terms to describe a triumph motorcycle.😂

I understand that the DEALERTOOL is a very effective scan tool to work on the Triumph motorcycles.. but its very complicate to install need Window 10 and up and a laptop.. I have for my BMW the MotoScan which is very simple to download and to operate with an Android phone. For my 2023 Tiger 900 RP I was looking for a scan, but I have to say that I will go with the TUNEECU... only need the OBD LX connector which I al ready have from the BMW and the app. no bungle or interphase. Any way your explanation is very clear easy and fallow step by step. Congrats.

Yes the laptop installation is a bit dated, but so is vehicle software. DT appears to stay on top of the connectivity with the bike through various model years so for me that is important. I made is video largely to clarify the installation process. My having a Windows machine (and with the latest version of Windows) was a plus in DT's favour. I don't like working from a phone and no longer have an Android phone anyway and TuneECU does not work with Windows.

@@GrumpyGoat thank you for your answer. correct... TuneEcu doesn't work with Window or Apple, just with Android, so only phones.

Respect to you sir... Would you please share the oil change video if you made one for your second oil change ? I know you did first at the dealer.

Ahead of you on that one ... stay tuned to the channel. The oil change vid is coming next Sunday in Part 1 of the 6000-mile service. The following Sunday will be the rest of the Service in Part 2 of the mini-series. Please remember to watch, like and share the videos. 🙂

Interesting, but would have liked something more portable like Motoscan app like I use on my BMW. Still only Android unfortunately

There is an Android-based app TuneECU which is used with a Bluetooth single. I wanted a Windows-based solution just like my wired GS-911 for the BMW. That is Windows also and so far I’ve not had the need for more portability. Besides, my laptop goes on long trips with me. 😏
