The charm and appeal of "Fast and Loud" are largely due to Richard Rawlings-a man so charismatic he could probably sell sand in a desert. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Rawlings started his career in the car industry quite early. He worked alongside his father, fixing cars, a practice he started when he was just fourteen years old with the purchase of his first car.
Richard never lifted a tool, never got grease under his nails. Did get paper cuts from counting cash all day.

Aaron was the first class prick; not Richard. He constantly undermined Richard’s authority, demanding poor leadership skills, no judgment whatsoever, &, a lot of the crew couldn’t stand his toxic, narcissistic attitude and behavior.
I can concur. I met them both on separate occasions and Aaron was an egotistical douche and Richard was nice enough. Changed my whole attitude about them both. A 180°.

I met Richard once when he came to try and buy a buddies car. I didn't trust him from hello. My skin crawled. He started name dropping and listed 5 that I knew well, and HATED with a passion. He offered WAY below what we listed at and came to California from TX. We washed the car, professionally detailed it and sent it to auction. Sold $10,000 above asking and not even close to what he offered
Guys like him are for people who have no clue how or where to sell a car. He saves you the grief in exchange for half the value of the car. If you know how to prep and present a car for auction, you don't need a flipper.
He resells cars.

He robbed older people and offered way less than what they wanted and used their financial situation against them to get rich. I noticed this and stopped watching as it was a disgusting tactic he used to part peoples extended families (vehicles) from their owners only to turn around and sell for the same as what the previous owner wanted. This was sad.
The only skills he had was running his mouth and writing checks. His crew is who built the cars.
While he does run his mouth, and write checks. Something that most people don't understand is, you need someone who can see the big picture. While yes the crew did the physical labor someone has to find and hire the talent, and keep everything going forward. Not saying the guy doesn't have a giant ego. There needs to be 2 kind of people in a business, 1 that sees the task ahead of them, and one that can look at that task and the next 10 tasks. Even though the show is over, he I still on youtube doing the same thing more relaxed environment and still making a crap load of money.

Always hated how he would say he "Stoled" The car when he would lowball sellers and disrespect them. Dennis Collins is a true car person and is respectful.

Restoring a car cause your dad left it to you, or restoring a custom street mod because you have so much money and don’t need a return on your investment is cool. Over inflating the market and creating a false value for all the other car people out there is just crap. He has poisoned the auctions for years. Good TV bad reality.

I met Sue in person as well as her daughter. Very nice people and I was even offered a job at her shop. She would not say anything about Richard as she is a class act but we all know a dickhead when we see one. JP

Jesus, it's simple, it's TV, when you don't make money any more you get cancelled. Been that way since TV started and it didn't change for Richard Rawlins. They made him a millionaire, he should be happy, most of us never get there.

The first time I saw the show , American Chopper , my first ten minutes into it I had this thought , This kid will really be something someday as soon as he gets away from that control freak old man . AND. Had some similar thoughts when I first saw fast n loud ,
Sue’s story is amazing. Testament to what hard work can accomplish. Hope she continues to flourish.

When Aaron left I quit watching. Richard is a used car salesman. But on the whole they made some nice rides.
It's hard to tell how much of Richard was hype and how much was real. The show was entertaining but most of Richard's antics seemed to be staged. Either way, he was good at marketing and got rich doing it.

I'm good enough with cars, but I'm horrible with money. As much I like the mechanics more in that show, you need guys like Richard in a company to get the money in.

You can say what you want about James,he may be the biggest Ahole in the world but unlike Rawlings,he knows what he is doing, and what he is talking about.i personally don't much care for the man, but I will give credit where credit is due, he is a skilled craftsman, and you can't take that away from him.

He opened a restaurant near my house and it was the perfect representation of his style. It was all flashy on the outside to pull you in but there was no substance. The inside was plain and boring, the food sucked, and the wording on the menu was arrogant like him. It's gone now. Good riddance. I didn't like his car builds either.

Ran into Richard at gas monkey bar and grill in Sturgis South Dakota . His new business venture. He was a cool dude very approachable humble guy bull shiting and drinking beers like everyone else.

Custom cars are not easy. You run into problems. That is part of the game. Sometimes you win a sometimes you learn how not to build something. It's still fun either way.

Loved the show and the staff. Definitely brought back people wanting to restore their cars, my ex father in law had several cars in his body shop, but as he said they weren’t money makers

Rawlings may have spearheaded the show but his not so humble attitude not unlike OCC gets old and ironically the man in the background on many episodes "Dennis Collins" is the perfect mix to what Fast & loud should have been.

I only watched a handful of episodes. I just didn't care much for the owner's style. The actual mechanic (guy with the beard) seemed like a nice guy.

Rawlings spent a lot of money, in all the right places, at the IOMTT. It worked. He received lots of good advice and kudos for him for taking it.
