You also mentioned that tune ECU has ability to download factory maps. Their site is pretty cryptic, can you tell me where on their site they have factory tunes listed?
Not sure if it does. Most modern Triumph's measure speed from the abs sensor ring on the front wheel. Ive never needed to make an adjustment, because a sprocket change wouldn't have any effect on speedometer readout
Understood! Adjusting the speedometer isn't a big issue. Changing the sprocket sizes (on newer EURO 5 models) display "Code P0915 - gear shift circuit range/performance". Additional information indicates "vehicle speed doesn't match gear." This is due to gear position, rpm and wheel speed being constantly monitored by the ECU. It seems the new Euro 5 ECU maps engine RPM against road speed for a given gear.@@NicePantsLance
The motorcycle must have the key on during the ECU reflashing process, which would keep the headlight on and drain the battery. ECU reflashing takes alot of battery power, so its advised to remove the headlight fuse and plug in a battery tender to keep enough power in the battery. If the battery dies during the reflashing process, it can damage the ECU and a ECU recovery will need to be performed. Not all ECU recoveries are successful
Hi can I ask what are you powering with that long USB cable....love to be able to power a heated vest via my USB port 2020T100....not sure if it will over load the USB port..... Thanks for the video...its great. Nick in the UK.
This channel is exactly what I need for my '19 Speed Twin 1200! Do you have any idea if it's possible to bleed the ABS with tune ecu? Thanks in advice! :)
Yes you can absolutely bleed the ABS with TuneEcu! 🤘 One word of caution is don't use the "reset adaptations" function. Do the 12 minute tune instead. TuneEcu changed a lot since i made this video!
Around 15:10 you said for the remapping the fuse has to be removed? I'm just starting to learn TuneECU before I get my 2020 Street Triple RS back and am just curious
Yes! That is because your bike must be on during the remapping process, and it takes alot of juice to do so! If you leave your fuse in, the light will stay on during remap, and will drain the battery. If your bike dies during the remapping process, your ecu will need to be recovered and there is a slight chance you could mess up the ecu in the process. To be safe, remove headlight fuse and keep bike hooked up to a charger the entire time 👍 there's a few articles you can find online that will further assist you.
You're not wrong. I have personally remapped my bike with the headlight fuse still in...however, the voltage readout from my battery tender dropped right to the lower limit the entire time. It didnt die on me, but it was on the edge the entire time and i was shittin bricks. Better to be safe than sorry and just take out the fuse. It take 20 seconds
It depends on your make and model. Older bikes require the cable. The TuneEcu website has a compatibility list so you know if you need bluetooth or cable!
Here's the procedure for resetting the cruise control Key in ignition and bike on (engine Not running) Activate front brake switch Rear brake switch Clutch switch Twist grip switch (push the throttle in the closed position all the way forward) Activate cruise on/off switch As far as remapping goes, you'll have to look through some online triumph forums or Facebook to see what people use for a tune. DNK Tuning sells tunes but they are expensive. Hopefully you can find one for free
I recommend LX because thats the one i personally use and have had success with. You may be able to use cheaper adapters, but enter at your own risk! Ive always believe good products arent cheap, and cheap products arent good!
Great vid mate .. I’ve got a triumph 1050se 2012 .. find it snatchy at low speeds and a bit all over with fueling ,,,, will a map sort this ?? Apart from that the bike is an absolute beast .. thanks 🏴 Steve
After the remap; do I immediately crank the bike and go for a ride? Or is it ok to unhook everything, turn the bike off and go for a ride later? Thanks for the info. I’m trying this on my rsv4
I am struggling. I purchased a tune from DNK. Downloaded the updated version of TuneEcu and paid for licenses. After I connect to the OBD and try to load a map. Nothing happens. I stored the custom map in both my downloads folder and the tune ecu map folder. When I click on the map, it does not download and there is no option from the map drop down to reprogram. Please help!
Are you connected to the bike? The drop down will not give you the option to reprogram ECU unless you are currently connected to the bike and have a map opened. What do you mean "nothing happens". Does it tell you that theres no file found? I had to move my tune file to a very specific folder so the program could find it. Specifically: "internal storage--->TuneEcu" I believe the latest version of TuneEcu asks you which folder you prefer to use for tunes. It HAS to be that specific folder or the program wont recognize it. Also the tune file cant be a copy, it has to be the original file. If it has a "(1)" in the file name, its a copy and not the real thing.
TuneEcu made alot of changes after this video came out. I'm pretty sure it'll ask if you'd like to register the bike once you try to connect to the ecu
Great video. Everything on my app is reading and working, except when I select a map and click the ECU tab, it doesn’t give me the “Reprogram” option. You know why this may be?
TuneEcu will allow you to flash the ECU with a map, but getting the map for your bike is up to you. It really depends on what bike you have. Some maps can be downloaded for free, but sometimes you might have to pay someone for a good map. Id start by asking around in the facebook groups and online forums
I’m pretty much computer illiterate been wanting to tune my triumph rocket classic and rocket touring for a couple years now this is so much easier then I thought now I just have to get a android and obdlinx thanks
@@NicePantsLance Ok i have a Thruxton r. Don't know if the previous owner had done any changes to the map. Its a full flow exhaust and shorty cones on it. Don know about the air filter. And i ride without baffels/dbk.
I put new Bassani mufflers on my 2011 Bonneville SE and I am having decell pop. Our head mechanic at the Harley shop where I work said I need more air. Is it possible to manipulate individual parameters like that or would the "12 minute tune" make it adapt automatically?
Unfortunately getting rid of decel pop would require specific fine-tuning to your bike. You could do it at home, but it would require fuel adding or subtracting at specific rpms and alot of street testing. The "12 minute tune" might help, but it'll only be temporary. If you've altered a fuel-map before, it wouldn't be too hard, but it'll be a process. If I were you, I'd look into a PC5 autotuner, to keep the bike at a perfect AFR and stop the exhaust popping. I wish I could help more!
I've downloaded the app from the website (not Google Play) on to my phone, went to register, entered my email address & PayPal name & clicked buy. But the information on the website says I have to paid a Gmail account, as its French is a bit vague. My question is, do I have to wait until I receive 'pay invoice' via PayPal to pay ???
I recently bought a triumph bike . Only currently use iPhone , looking to purchase a android phone specifically for tune ecu . What phones are supported to use with the program .
i Lance, I'm looking at downloading a new map to my 2020 Rocket 3 GT, but - Can I save the original map to my phone ... if I don't like the new map? Thank you, Tom
At this moment, I don't think you are allowed to download a map off of the ecu. However, on the TuneEcu site there should be a stock Tune for your bike ready to download. Hope this helps 👍
Good video👍 One question: I was trying to remap my trident 660 and for some reason, after I load the map and connect to my ECU, I don’t see the Reprogram option under the ECU menu. Any idea why?
Great information, thank you. Is there a file for an A2 new street triple 660? Do you need anything else apart from an Android mobile and odblink lx? Any wires?
I'm not sure about the A2 triple 660, but im sure someone in the Facebook groups or on the forums would know. Thats all you need! TuneEcu app and obdLink LX 👍 happy tuning!
Mine is stuck “unregistered” and I swipe left or right it’s just a blank page. It connects to my ecu and shows the basic idle home page but won’t let me do anything else. Any idea how I can fix this?
Hi I have the same problem with my 2007 sprint 1050 st It shows unregistered next to the tuneECU logo. And also the test and adjustment isn’t highlighted So I can’t access that feature. it’s a bit of a headache Because there ain’t much support from tuneECU.net
@@Scouseblagger mine is a 2006 sprint. I emailed support and they said if the app is unregistered then you can’t register the bike. Never told me why it’s not registered. I downloaded it off the google store. Never saw a registration. I’m puzzled. Still seeing if I can figure it out. I’ll post again if I find a solution.
Hi Derek That’s where I downloaded It from and I never saw a Registration either. What OBD2 Bluetooth adapter are you using? The one I have is from Lonelec it is the blue scan 2 witch is meant to be compatible. Also I have four error code that have come up your meant to be able to erase them but you can’t even do that. It depends on year and model. I could save the tune from my triumphs, but i hear the 2022+ models are locked. Not sure if you can save the original map on the latest bikes, but luckily there's an OEM tune list on the TuneEcu website. If you lose the original tune, you should be able to find it there
Hey Lance, Where is the actual ECU located on the bike? I want to re-map but I’m going to send in the ECU to DNK because I don’t have an android device. Is it under the tank or right under the seat?
I got a question I recently bought a 2013 Daytona 675r got a 2 brothers slip on exhaust and started experiencing stuttering around 50-55mph does anyone know how to fix this or what could be the problem
What engine rpm does it stutter at? Also, how many miles on the bike? Might wanna check for a kinked fuel line or a blocked breather tube. If that looks alright, it may just need the 12 Minute Tune (resetting adaptations). If it still stutters, you may need spark plugs or coilpacks. If all else fails, I'd say you definitely need a Remap. One of these should fix the issue 👍 good luck
Would have been good to see how you select and connect specific motorcycle brands, that’s where I am stuck. I believe the bike needs to be registered and vin numbers are needed among other things
TuneEcu has changed quite a bit since I released this video. If you go to the TuneEcu website, you'll find a guide on how to pay and register. As for how to connect, you just need to search up what kind of ECU your motorcycle has. Things may have changed, im not sure
Programming the Ecu is the same as remapping your bike. You have to load a tune (hex file) and then remap your bike using the 'reprogram ecu' selection
The owner has taken it off of Google Play for a number of reasons. Go to the official TuneEcu website and there should be a download link to get the app! Hope this helps 👍
Just so everyone is perfectly clear- this isn’t just some app that you download and plug into your bike and voila, magically there are numerous maps for your bike. You FIRST have to PURCHASE a tune/map from somewhere. The tuneecu is just a tool to install it? Correct?
Purchase is a last resort. There's dozens of free tunes on the TuneEcu website, and there's tons of members who actively share their hex files on the Facebook groups and forums specific to your bike. I've been using tuneecu for years with multiple bikes and have never paid a dime for a tune
nice video. what will happen if you reprogram the bike and you will not do the reset adaptation. i am asking this because i want to try deferent maps without let the bike indling 10 to 15 minutes every time. neighbors become very frustrated. 😂😂
its perfectly fine. Your bike adapts as it rides anyways so you're good! The "12 minute tune" would likely accomplish the same thing as going for a long ride. Cheers!
@@NicePantsLance , That stuff didn't make any sense until now. My T100 has carbs . I'm getting a Speed Twin hopefully this summer after a little back surgery. I can't ride right now , but I'll be back.
I don't believe so. I know back in the day you could eliminate the speed limiter through the map itself. I keep hearing the Pro version gives you that option. TuneEcu has changed quite a bit in the last year or so
I'm not 100% certain of this, but I'm almost positive if you have Pro unlocked, you can open up your map and select "Parameters". In that menu you should be able to adjust speed limit

No it doesn't unfortunately. However, if you use OBDLINK LX with the app and software that it came with, I believe it allows you to check and clear codes on your car
I keep reading on Triumph forums that if I connect Tuneecu to my 2015 Triumph tiger explorer it will brick the ecu.? At the same time there are Maps available for the bike on the Tuneecu site.
Good video 📹 smart man. So before you do anything to your ecu save all perimeters to a file mem stick so if your computer loses power what ever you can start over. You should always save your stock setting!!!!!
Thats absolutely correct! The one thing to keep in mind is many of the brand new triumphs dont actually allow you to save the current map. For my Speed Twin I had to get my stock tune file off the TuneEcu list. My Rocket 3 did allow me to save though! Thank you for watching 😁
You're 100% right. I've been doing some reading on tuneecu lately and things aren't the way I'm used to. The bike adjusts so quickly that you're better off taking for a spin anyways. I wish I could edit this video, but I'd have to re-upload a new one. Thanks for watching
@@NicePantsLance Yeah, I have 4 Triumphs in the garage and have owned many others... Been using TuneECU for a long time. The 2020 Street RS is the first one to give me problems getting dialed in... TuneECU was only able to get me 90%, and the area around idle, wouldn't update no matter how much fuel we dumped in there... Had to use the Power Commander to fix that area... Installing an Akra slipon and removing the cat, had that idle area running so lean that the bike would stall when I pulled up to a stop sign... It was really bad. Great video lance nice to see you have a 1000 subscribers stay safe 🇬🇧👍
Thanks Rich ride safe out there 👍 hope you're enjoying the speed twin!
Hi can I ask what are you powering with that long USB cable....love to be able to power a heated vest via my USB port 2020T100....not sure if it will over load the USB port.....
Thanks for the video...its great.
Nick in the UK.
I use it to charge my phone and/or gopro camera! I wanted a cord long enough to reach my phone mount. Thank you for watching 🤘
This channel is exactly what I need for my '19 Speed Twin 1200! Do you have any idea if it's possible to bleed the ABS with tune ecu? Thanks in advice! :)
Yes you can absolutely bleed the ABS with TuneEcu! 🤘
One word of caution is don't use the "reset adaptations" function.
@@NicePantsLance If you've got an LED headlight a decent charger will deal with the load.
@@LondonSteveLee Why not just take out that fuse. It takes 3 seconds 🙂
It take 20 seconds
reprogramming possible with this Bluetooth device, no need for cable ?
It depends on your make and model. Older bikes require the cable. The TuneEcu website has a compatibility list so you know if you need bluetooth or cable!
When I open a map and click ECU the reprogram option isn't there what do I do? I have 02 triumph Daytona 955i
You may need to update your registration. If you search around the site, you should find a guide on how to do that
Will this allow me to re set the cruise control on a 2019 Speedmaster and remap what’s suggested
Here's the procedure for resetting the cruise control
Key in ignition and bike on (engine Not running)
Activate front brake switch
Rear brake switch
Clutch switch
Twist grip switch (push the throttle in the closed position all the way forward)
Activate cruise on/off switch
As far as remapping goes, you'll have to look through some online triumph forums or Facebook to see what people use for a tune. DNK Tuning sells tunes but they are expensive. Hopefully you can find one for free
Are the LX, MX, and MX+ just "recommendations" because they're supported? Will other aftermarket (cheaper) OBD2 sensors work just as well?
You're safe to wait before cranking it up! Thanks for watching 🤘
Hey I don’t see the reprogram option under ECU I’m using a obd Link Lx with android phone
It should appear once you connect to the bike and have a tune file opened
After being registered do we get the new map from tune ecu or download one from somewhere else?
Sometimes they have maps on the TuneEcu website, but its always best to get a map from somewhere else
bro how to register the apps my device says unregistered is it need req. to download the file of u bike but how?
thx i need your advice
I think theres instructions on the tuneecu website. Im not quite sure myself. I made this video before registration was required
Specifically: "internal storage--->TuneEcu"
I believe the latest version of TuneEcu asks you which folder you prefer to use for tunes. It HAS to be that specific folder or the program wont recognize it. Also the tune file cant be a copy, it has to be the original file. If it has a "(1)" in the file name, its a copy and not the real thing.
What’s with the registration? You could register up to 5 bikes? And how do I register my bike?
TuneEcu made alot of changes after this video came out. I'm pretty sure it'll ask if you'd like to register the bike once you try to connect to the ecu
Great video. Everything on my app is reading and working, except when I select a map and click the ECU tab, it doesn’t give me the “Reprogram” option. You know why this may be?
Interesting issue. Might want to join the TuneEcu group on facebook and ask!
Will remaping/tunning help to lower fuel consumption?
Yes possibly!! Depends on how heavy your throttle hand is
I don't have a test mode in my app
Test and adjustments will only be available if you're connected to the ECU
Hey NPL, do you remove the OBD link before running the bike for the stated 15 minutes? Thanks
Yes i do!
I can't get a map to download so I can use it,
TuneEcu will allow you to flash the ECU with a map, but getting the map for your bike is up to you. It really depends on what bike you have. Some maps can be downloaded for free, but sometimes you might have to pay someone for a good map. Id start by asking around in the facebook groups and online forums
Great video, very informative, I have the OBD & tuneECU, time to start playing, wish me luck
Good luck!! Let me know if you run into trouble
I’m pretty much computer illiterate been wanting to tune my triumph rocket classic and rocket touring for a couple years now this is so much easier then I thought now I just have to get a android and obdlinx thanks
I used to own a Rocket 3 Roadster myself! Good luck with tuning and thanks for watching 🤘
Hi There i juste Got à 2020 speed twin i m interrested in your écu program Im in LA thx for your time and videos
Sorry i no longer have the Speed Twin. I hope you're enjoying your bike!
Hi! Do you know were to find map for de-cat, x-pipe mod and aftermarket shorty cone mufflers?
You can either find tunes on the TuneEcu website, or find one in the forums for your specific bike
@@NicePantsLance Ok i have a Thruxton r. Don't know if the previous owner had done any changes to the map. Its a full flow exhaust and shorty cones on it. Don know about the air filter. And i ride without baffels/dbk.
There's definitely a tune out there for you. Lots of people have the same mods on their thruxtons 👍 ride safe!
Unfortunately im not quite sure. I downloaded my app when it was still in the playstore. Sorry i cant provide any help!
@@NicePantsLance It's okay I've sorted it out, you can pay via the PayPal app using the TuneEcu email address.
Good to know!!
When using an Android device you should have a Google account and a Gmail adress for the TuneECU licence account.
Amazing video thank you do much trident to be re mapped asap.
And allso how do we make sure the right ect is picked ?
Did you ever get to remap your trident?
@@NicePantsLance I sure did bro.
Thank you for the video it helped alot, im in Australia so de restricted to full power modle, world of difference. 😁👊
Hell yeah 🤘 bet it feels like a new bike! Wish I had my own trident. Ride safe out there
I recently bought a triumph bike . Only currently use iPhone , looking to purchase a android phone specifically for tune ecu . What phones are supported to use with the program .
I think mostly Android phones. Check the TuneEcu website for compatibility
I use an Android tablet. The bigger screen is helpful, but it needs to have 3 GB RAM or more.
i Lance, I'm looking at downloading a new map to my 2020 Rocket 3 GT, but - Can I save the original map to my phone ... if I don't like the new map? Thank you, Tom
At this moment, I don't think you are allowed to download a map off of the ecu. However, on the TuneEcu site there should be a stock Tune for your bike ready to download. Hope this helps 👍
Good video👍
One question: I was trying to remap my trident 660 and for some reason, after I load the map and connect to my ECU, I don’t see the Reprogram option under the ECU menu. Any idea why?
Hmm im not sure why. Might want to look through some TuneEcu forums or ask the TuneEcu group on Facebook
Mo, I’m having the same problem too. Did you find a fix?
@@colterface yes I believe it’s because it wasn’t registered. Also make sure you are on latest version
@@moabushahba4687 Ok. Dang. I’ve registered and have the latest updated app and still not working. Who were you able to reach out to for your answer?
@@colterface check the Tuneecu forums that’s where I opened the thread about this
Is there somewhere to hook a usb supply under the seat?
I guess it depends on which bike you own. My Speed Twin does have a USB charger under the seat 👍 also has a port for a battery tender
@@NicePantsLance Thanks for that Lance
Can you bleed the abs automaticly with this app ?
TuneECU does have a bleed brake option for Triumphs - don't know about other bike/ECU combinations.
i think it depends on the make and model. I would check the forums just to make sure
Will the Bluetooth DBD link work for 2014 T100?
Great information, thank you. Is there a file for an A2 new street triple 660? Do you need anything else apart from an Android mobile and odblink lx? Any wires?
I'm not sure about the A2 triple 660, but im sure someone in the Facebook groups or on the forums would know. Thats all you need! TuneEcu app and obdLink LX 👍 happy tuning!
@@NicePantsLance 👍😎🙏
Mine is stuck “unregistered” and I swipe left or right it’s just a blank page. It connects to my ecu and shows the basic idle home page but won’t let me do anything else. Any idea how I can fix this?
What bike are you connecting to? You should be able to register the one you have as long as the ECU isn't locked
Hi
I have the same problem with my 2007 sprint 1050 st
It shows unregistered next to the tuneECU logo.
And also the test and adjustment isn’t highlighted
So I can’t access that feature. it’s a bit of a headache
Because there ain’t much support from tuneECU.net
@@Scouseblagger mine is a 2006 sprint. I emailed support and they said if the app is unregistered then you can’t register the bike. Never told me why it’s not registered. I downloaded it off the google store. Never saw a registration. I’m puzzled. Still seeing if I can figure it out. I’ll post again if I find a solution.
Hi Derek
That’s where I downloaded
It from and I never saw a
Registration either. What OBD2 Bluetooth adapter are you using? The one I have is from Lonelec it is the blue scan 2 witch is meant to be compatible. Also I have four error code that have come up your meant to be able to erase them but you can’t even do that. I will keep looking for solutions as well
If I find anything I will let you know

Can I save the original map that I have right now on my bike?
It depends on year and model. I could save the tune from my triumphs, but i hear the 2022+ models are locked. Not sure if you can save the original map on the latest bikes, but luckily there's an OEM tune list on the TuneEcu website. If you lose the original tune, you should be able to find it there
@@NicePantsLance the difference is that my bike is A2 restricted . Needed the A2 restricted map saved somewhere
Did you check the list? There are many a2 compliant oem tunes on the website
@@NicePantsLance didn’t yet, will check it . Thanks
@@NicePantsLance The A2 map is locked, cant download it
Hey Lance, Where is the actual ECU located on the bike? I want to re-map but I’m going to send in the ECU to DNK because I don’t have an android device. Is it under the tank or right under the seat?
I'm not sure exactly. It would be best to send her an email, since I've never pulled out the ECU before. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
What bike? Usually under the seat. On my Street Twin it is described in the owners manual since you have to remove the ECU to get the battery out.
Can i use it on a triumph Thunderbird storm 1700.
yes im pretty sure
@@NicePantsLance thanks for the video
Thanks for watching 🤘
Hi, what's the purpose for reprogramming the ecu? Thanks for the video
Programming the Ecu is the same as remapping your bike. You have to load a tune (hex file) and then remap your bike using the 'reprogram ecu' selection
Tuneecu is gone from Play store. Any other apps able to do this?
The owner has taken it off of Google Play for a number of reasons. Go to the official TuneEcu website and there should be a download link to get the app! Hope this helps 👍
Sir. Does it work on 2021 models. Euro5 ECU?
Yes it should
Can i save the corrent map before changing?
Some bikes allow you to save the tune that's on your bike, others don't. If not, you can find the stock map for your bike on the tuneecu website!
its posible to reprogram keys?
I don't think so unfortunately
So this process would be the same with a 2019 Speed Triple 1050 RS ?????
Yes I believe so.
@@NicePantsLance perfect thanks for the information 💪💪👍👍🔥🔥
Cheers!
Will that also work to tune a 2000 TT 600
I think so, but im not 100% certain

The headlight fuse 👍
hey! nice vid! can you tell me ho to remove speed limiter via tune ecu?
Yes you need to buy TuneEcu Pro version to gain that feature 👍

I don't believe so. I know back in the day you could eliminate the speed limiter through the map itself. I keep hearing the Pro version gives you that option. TuneEcu has changed quite a bit in the last year or so
@@NicePantsLance thanx, bcz i remaped it already and the limiter still is on...
I'm not 100% certain of this, but I'm almost positive if you have Pro unlocked, you can open up your map and select "Parameters". In that menu you should be able to adjust speed limit
Hey the best video I have seen yet. I ride on 07 rocket classic. I hope to hit you up later for possibility of a little guidance. I am totally new to this stuff
Thank you!! 👍 I actually learned how to use TuneEcu when i had my 2018 Rocket 3 Roadster. I had a map made by Hans0 that turned my bike into a monster. Reach out to me in the FLX Triumph Enthusiasts page on Facebook or email me if you have any questions.

Very difficult...
Yeah its a pain. Now that TuneEcu has updated so much, alot of things in this video arent as relevant anymore 🤦♂️
Does this Work for cars?
No it doesn't unfortunately. However, if you use OBDLINK LX with the app and software that it came with, I believe it allows you to check and clear codes on your car
I keep reading on Triumph forums that if I connect Tuneecu to my 2015 Triumph tiger explorer it will brick the ecu.? At the same time there are Maps available for the bike on the Tuneecu site.
Can you share the link you found? I've never seen anything about bricking the ECU. Should be just fine as long as you follow the steps exactly

Just keep in mind, that the 12 minute tune doesn't do much at all on any of the newer Euro5 bikes...
Took 3 sessions on the dyno and eventually had to install a Power Commander to get everything sorted.
Never had a bike behave like that, but this Euro5 crap really threw a monkey wrench into the works...
So you can now remap over Bluetooth...
TuneEcu is no longer supported on desktop, so the Android app and Bluetooth connector is one of the best options now! Thanks for watching 🤘 cheers
