Great tutorial, thank you for taking the time to create the video. You've inspired me. Oil now changed on my Tiger, and no "unholy mess!" My local dealership will no longer be getting their hundreds of dollars from me to do such a simple task. Now for that pesky service light reset....grrr
Great video. One point however, these are crush washers and they need to be replaced with every oil change. It’s not a huge deal if you reuse them but you might get a leak, I did even though I used a torque wrench. Now I replace them with every oil change. Cheers! Safe riding!
Thanks for the comment. The oil plug washers on the R1200RS are actually not crush washers. They do not deform (crush and become flatter) with use. They are actually flat aluminum washers that would only deform (get thinner) with way more torque than you're supposed to apply to the plug. That would not be the case with a true crush washer which by its design would allow for some degree of flattening with the low torque for the oil plug, thereby achieving a better seal. I have reused these flat washers with zero leaks. Since they are cheap (last time the BMW dealership gave me one at no charge with the filter purchase) I bought a bunch of them on Amazon and guess what ... they are identical to the BMW ones. I reuse the previous one or use a new one depending on my mood ... 😏
😉 dejaste el nivel justo en la marca de maximo despues de añadir un pocao, buena punteria, 👏👏👏, lo que te bajo despues de rellenar y arrancar fue que se lleno el filtro nuevo de aceite, saludos
This is great. Wanna email me your blank document ??? LOL. I have the same bike, and just hit 6K miles last week. I'm wantingn to head down to Baja from San Diego soon, and didn 't quite realize, I need to do the 6K service now..and might try it myself. I'd love to be an smartly organized and thorough as you!
@@GrumpyGoat Did you get it? I didn't see it in my email. I have my 6k service coming up, and would LOVE to not have to bring it in to the dealer. No idea what they charge either for the 6k service.
No, but I have a video that covers this: th-cam.com/video/4kjPOGIRzDM/w-d-xo.html Consider subscribing to the channel and click the notification bell for notifications of videos on maintenance and modifications to the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

How did you come about to reset the service counter! Do you have access to a dealer login?
No, but I have a video that covers this: th-cam.com/video/4kjPOGIRzDM/w-d-xo.html
