I totally agree with you using aeron for past 2 years.
    1. Hard frame is noticeably uncomfortable
    2. Arm, esp. when I lean back and forth arm heights are not on position.
    3. Yeah I wish aeron had seat adjustment option when lean back for sure
    4. I could live with that 😅
    5. It was ok for me maybe because i don’t change settings after i hit the sweet spot
    6. Agreed. Even im using newer one, still don’t push my back enough
    7. Don’t mind color that much but, it definitely collects all the fabric dusts under the seat 😂
    8. Agreed
    9. Agreed
    Great review!

When i was shopping for a chair about a year ago I tried several including the Aeron. Never sat in one before and read about all the hype about it. I work from home and so needed a comfortable chair for many hours a day. It only took me like 15 seconds to realize that it wasn't for me. I didn't like how the seat pan "cupped" around the sides forcing a very ergonomic posture. To me, compared to all the office chairs I had sat in for years prior, it was uncomfortable. The choice was between an Amia and Leap v2 and I chose the Amia and love it.

Important to note that this is about the Aeron Classic, not the Remastered. The Remastered addresses points number 1, 4, 5 and 6. The seat front no longer being padded is vastly superior, it's much quieter, you only need 2-3 turns to notice a real difference in tension and the Posturefit SL hits a much larger vertical area. If it hits too low for you, you can decrease the tension.

All great criticisms of the Aeron, which I use daily.
When I brought my Aeron home from the office during COVID (the chair is provided by my employer), your first criticism was the same one my wife had. If you are a person of any size, that hard seat edge is going to be uncomfortable.
After much searching for a chair for my wife, which included an in office trial of the Concept Seating 3150 task chair, the Leap Plus (from Crandal) ended up the winner. It made enough of a difference that I bought a second one for the rare times she is in the computer at home.
The leap plus is too wide for my narrow frame so I cannot adequately review it but I suspect I would prefer the standard Leap to the Aeron. However, the Aeron is a solid chair and once adjusted, performs well over an 8 hour day.
That said, my personal favorite that I have experience with is the Steelcase Criterion high back version. When I do go into the office (I mostly work from home) I use the Criterion. I find everything about it suits me better than the Aeron. However, the Aeron is still a good chair and the difference between the two is not enough for me to invest in a Criterion.

I appreciate these types of videos.
Video’s I would like to see include:
    - Comparison videos of Herman Miller/Steelcase chairs (i.e. Leap v. Aeron)
    - Comparison videos of chairs within a product line to understand what you get as you pay more (I.e Steelcase Series 1 v. Series 2 v. Leap v. Gesture)

Should you lower the chair if your legs pinch?
When i tested one I thought the tension nob was broken because the shaft doesn't spin and I couldn't feel a difference until I did it like 50 times

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The pinching is a difficult one because a lot of people have this issue and there really isn't a one size fix all answer to this. As far as the tension knob is concerned that is a beast to get the correct adjustment.

So for someone who's looking for an Aeron chair do you think paying extra for the Remastered is worth it? Thanks.

Thanks for the video, my favorite chair, but your criticism was accurate. My wife's Mirra is superior(borrowed it for a month) but Aeron has the look and durability I love.

I will also say after reducing seat height I no longer get pressure on the legs. Before I adjusted to proper height I had the leg irritation too. Now I can sit for hours.

Could you guys please do a video on different color ways and combinations for your Remanufactured v2 Leap? I want to order one but I get really confused when I choose the 3D Bioknit fabric. It only gives me the option for the back and not the seat. I'd like your softest, flexible, more breathable fabric and I think its the Bioknit.. Then whats the difference between the 3D and normal Bioknot? Also why can't I get it for the seat too? Its just really confusing on the website ordering one in a color/fabric I like.

Sorry at this moment our bioknit is out of stock. That is why you are seeing for back only. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    8:12 good times
It's so weird how they decided to keep 3 sizes vs adding seat depth in the remastered.
Excellent chair, but hate how you can only sit in it the way it wants you to.

I love my big boy size c chair, but I can just as easily fit an a or b size. I have lost 100 pounds though so at one time the c size was preferable.

    • @nathans5773
      @nathans5773 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I think you are exactly right, you have to sit in the Aeron the way it wants you to sit in it.
However, I think this may actually be a feature. Granted, not everyone will appreciate it.
What I mean by that is the Aeron kind of forces you to adopt good body posture to make it comfortable to sit in. If you sit for 8 hours a day, having an ergonomic work space can be important. Given the choice, many of us (myself included) would adopt unhealthy habits (like sitting with one leg tucked under the other). By making these options uncomfortable, the end result may actually be a more beneficial experience for the user.
      Just a thought.

If your legs and body are in contact with the frame, it means that you should go up in size...

I have an Aeron Classic and agree with all of this. The hard outer frame is the worst for me. The Remastered is a slight improvement though, but I'd rather have something like the Nightingale CX6200

When I first messed around with the lean tension on my Aeron, I though mine was broken given how many times I could turn it.

Mesh allows sound to pass through which makes the chair loud. That's a good one.

Classic Aeron all the way. Sure, it's got its flaws but it feels like a cross between a comfort chair and a task chair. I put a throw blanket on my seat which solves most of the seat problems and keeps my butt warm because I keep the office temp rather low. I'm tiny so a B size feels like a C size would to someone of normal size. Can easily sit cross legged. And No Buttons for arm adjustment. They break or feel loose. Lever tension adjustment is just fine. Until they break. I really abuse the arms so I've had to replace an arm because the plastic bit connecting it to the chair cracked. Fortunately the thing is modular and parts are easy to come by. Stop with the plastic. You're carrying humans. Heavy chair is good.
