So this is why what he said was important. I don’t have back issues and in great shape and wasn’t looking to fix my slightly bad posture. I tried out an embody for a while in the store and while it was a great office chair and had tons of ergonomic features It just felt off (to me) my wife owns the Aeron and I tried that for a while too and it’s actually pretty good. Then when I was at the office we were all bought razer enki pros (yea that’s wild money we had) and while most of the community HATES that chair I fell in love with it. I don’t care about looks AT ALL. My back felt better and I never even had issues to begin with. It fixed my posture and I sit in it for 8 hours a day and now 12 because I bought one for myself. ALWAYS TRY YOUR CHAIRS IN PERSON
Nice rundown of these chairs. I recently purchased a gaming Embody and it is an absolute unit of a chair. For me I do not have a Herman Miller store near me so I did not have the luxury of sitting in their chairs before buying. Regrettably I had to return it due to significant discomfort at the top of the back of the chair. I'm just under 6' 2" with broad shoulders and the shape of the chair digs into my upper back making it uncomfortable. I have an Aeron on order with the hope that it provides the level of comfort I would expect with a chair in this class. I would most definitely recommend trying them out if you have the chance.
Thank you for watching! The Aeron is a great choice - I am guessing you ordered a size C Aeron given your height. Assuming you ordered directly from them, Herman Miller should still offer the 30 day free return policy on the Aeron if you find that it doesn't suit you. I hope you love the chair!
Just received my gaming embody last week. They must have done a silent update as my chair has zero noises when leaning back. I also added the atlas headrest which can be moved away when standing upright but is awesome when laying back watching TH-cam videos
I bought an Embody recently, and regret it, after sitting all day, I get a sore butt and the back feels weird, it makes my shoulders feel like they are being pushed forward and it doesn't have enough lumbar support for me. My wife has an Aeron V2 so I've tried both. The Aeron is much better, for me anyway. About the creaking, mine does not have this issue, the store one did, but the one I had delivered makes almost no noise at all when flexing the back, but the overall build quality of the Aeron is much better, the Embody has a lot of play in the back and arms that the Aeron does not have. You have to lean back in the Embody, it's not good for work, which I do a lot of, I WFH full time and also game at the same desk. The Embody is NOT good for work, it just feels weird in the upright position, you really need to lean back a bit otherwise it hurts my back, and the recline is far smoother and better feeling on the Aeron. I'd return the Embody and swap it for an Aeron if I could but unfortunately Australia has no such returns policy that people in the US enjoy.
I have a regular Embody which I bought specifically for work, because since 3 years I'm only intensely WFH. It's the greatest chair I've ever owned, I have a very sensitive back and I had pain, tried multiple chairs, but in my case no chair comes close to the Embody. I spend in the chair 10+ hrs a day and have no back pain anymore, I love the fact that it holds me properly in the upright position (which took a little time to find the sweet spot in the back setting) and I love the smooth recline which I enjoy when I have a moment to relax from time to time. The chair is built very sturdy in my opinion, no creaking or other sounds (I have the white frame/ balance version). I took the (hard) decision to buy the Embody over Aeron because I couldn't stand the Aeron's hard frame "bucket" seat which caused numb feet if I didn't get up from time to time, the fact that adjusting the height of armrests felt quite weird (you have to reach back and you can't set always the same height for both armrests, or it's very hard to do so). What I liked about Aeron was the arm pads. I find the recline equally smooth on both Aeron and Embody.
@@bobpants1469 that’s really interesting. i’ve had the classic aeron with headrest, aeron remastered no headrest (size b) & the embody logitech i enjoyed all of them, and loved the classic (cuz i had it for 6 years). i’m 200lbs & 5’10 with a longer torso than normal. The workhorse is definitely the aeron. got me through some long hours. embody isn’t bad for me though, i actually like the flex in the back compared to the aeron. have you thought of using a foot stool to give better circulation to your legs? that defiirely affected comfort in some of these chairs. also making sure the arms, tension, & length of seat are adjusted for you
Great video, thanks for your input and recommendation! Gonna go to the dealer near to me and try out both chairs. I’ve seen so many aerons going for $400-$600 used online so that might be a great option
As a big guy the Aeron model C was too narrow so the seat frame was causing pressure on my thighs. Also the mesh is honestly not super comfortable, feels a lot like a lawn chair. Very durable though. Ordered an Embody now, fingers crossed it will be a better fit.
@@EliteAtlantaHomes I love it. It's extremely comfortable. Don't really miss a headrest either even tho I can't sit more than 5 minutes in other chairs without one. Still ordered an Atlas Headrest as well tho, just to have one. But that haven't arrived yet so I can't say what it's like.
Will also add that it makes less noise / creaking than a leather jacket. Like no noise at all unless I'm throwing myself to the sides real hard. And then it's at the level of the fabric on a jacket.
Question, I just got done sitting in the aeron remastered and the herman miller embody (non-gaming). I have a classic aeron that is great but it's 20yrs old and in rough shape. The embody hurt the very back of my butt in near the back rest like I could feel the end of the cushion. I did not like this and the aeron was more comfortable. Does the logitech gaming embody have this issue at the back of the butt rest?
It sounds like you'd enjoy the Aeron more than the Embody, especially if you prefer sitting up straight more often than not. Leaning back in the Aeron is also awesome, it's just more strict in how it wants you to maintain your body position. Ultimately I'd recommend trying out both in person, but based on your comment I'm guessing you'd prefer the Aeron. I hope this helps!
Great video as always Thomas. I am considering buying one of these chairs. I am lucky because a friend of mine has both of them and I will try them.
Just ordered a gaming embody, although upon further researching I feel like I might end up wanting an Aeron 😅 I’m in Canada, so hopefully it won’t be too much of a hassle if I don’t like the embody as much
I have the regular Embody used mostly for work. Best chair I've ever owned, hands down! Excellent quality, no noises and my back doesn't hurt for sitting many hours like on other chairs I had. I can't recommend it enough!

My 2005 graphite Aeron Classic is as good today as it was on July 11th, 2005 when I bought it. Hands down… the BEST office/gaming chair on the market.

The copper foam in the gaming model is just for marketing.
Just ordered a gaming embody, although upon further researching I feel like I might end up wanting an Aeron 😅 I’m in Canada, so hopefully it won’t be too much of a hassle if I don’t like the embody as much
Aeron is totally worth it for the mesh. It wears extremely well and doesn’t disintegrate like foam/fabric.

@@AryaStarky The embody has a 12 year warranty, so I assume they will replace the foam if it disintegrates.

Mirra over both, haven’t found a Herman Miller chair with better lumbar support than a Mirra.
The Mirra is a great chair as well. I was fortunate to be able to use one years ago in the office, solid chair!

Thanks Barb! I have the Size B. I'm about 5'9", 5'10" on a good day. :D

Worth mentioning that the Embody does NOT have lumbar support. This is a huge con in terms of productivity.
I mean it does in its own way. The back is designed to conform to your back and you can adjust the tension on it depending on your needs.
It does, not like Aeron of course, you have to adjust the back rest tension to fit your backs curvature.
What gold watch are you wearing?
It's a Citizen Eco Drive (from the PCAT collection).
