  • 💪 The Pureflow AirDog II-5G Air/Fuel Separation System is the newest generation in fuel delivery systems for your diesel. The 5G is engineered to be the longest-lasting, most efficient, and quietest lift pump system AirDog has to offer.
The ‪@AirDogSales‬ II-5G features a 4-bearing motor with an intermediate shaft that reduces pump noise and improves reliability. The demand flow design allows the pump to only send the necessary amount of fuel to the engine. A dual feed design supplies fuel to both sides of the gerotor pump to decrease air bubbles and cavitation.
Watch us show why AirDog II 5G could be right for you.

I have an AirDog II DF-165 No 4G or 5G. I converted my connections to include the return lines to -6AN fairly easily. I do like the positioning of the 5G's regulator and the integrated fuel pressure port. That would have made things a lot cleaner for the set up I have.

That bit about the 5g was very funny.

I have the AirDog II 4G - 03-07 Ford Powerstroke 6.0L 165GPH and I ordered it from you guys! 😎
This pump has been super quiet and reliable! I couldn’t be any happier! And the video that Wade made about it was my deciding factor on it.
You guys are awesome! Keep the great videos coming!!

Hey Wade......I put a Edge Comp in my truck last Summer 2021 and the truck was hurting for Fuel in 4th and 5th gear when I Hammered it real hard...I put a Airdog Raptor 150 and that fixed my problem like you said it would....My other concern was if it would Freeze up in the winter and Again you said it should be fine...Last week it got down to -5 and my Truck started right up even Better than with the Stock System so thanks for your help and I've been very happy with the Airdog Raptor 150....I live in Sisters Oregon and it gets cold here usually in the 20s and 30s but sometimes colder and into minus Degrees sometimes....

Could you do a video comparing running the fleece sureflow vs running a fuel sump?

  • @AJ-hl9ig
    @AJ-hl9ig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

So i have a few questions, is there a benefit to install the 5G over the raptor lift pump? Also, if you install the 5G is a sump a necessity? What are the reasons for needing a sump over not using one?

Does the 5g have a air bleeder valve option, or do you still have to twist the filter and get fuel sprayed all over?

Just installed my 220-5G with boost reference that poor CP3 is getting all the fuel 😂

Where's the Air Dog 165 5G on the website? ...(only see the 165 4G) Is the 220 only for higher horsepower motors not stock?

I really wish they wouldn't have swapped the pressure Guage tie in on the back side of the pump, its a pain to get to if you install a pressure gauge down the road. FYI if you have a 60 gal titan your gonna need some witch craft to install it.

About damn time the finally flipped it around. I'm not following you on the AN fitting deal. Are you saying the ports on the pump are AN instead of 1/2" ORB? Or did they go to 1/2" FPT?

      I didn’t need one for mine. I have a 6.0 Powerstroke Excursion.

Use a draw straw...sumps are actually illegal for a vehicle manufacturer...There's no way to stop the fuel from flowing it there was a problem etc. Drive over a stick etc and wham there goes all your fuel all over the ground with NO WAY to stop it

HAHA they copied FASS, larger wire...still not the FASS 10ga though, larger fuel ports, porting changes inside...probably still not as good as FASS. I appreciate the 4 heating ports that FASS provides. But I like the shorter height of the AD, I would have preferred the inside the frame but on a Duramax Ext cab short bed anyway the FASS hung just below the frame so it required going to the bed mount. A fuel filter hanging below the frame in the center is NOT a good idea in my opinion.

Well shite I didn't see the 5g, waiting on my 4g from yall now. F350 looking sad just sitting in the driveway. I hope pump is its problem
, I e got fuel coming out of Schrader but like a old man peeing lol

Here is my experience with airDOG, and it's not been pretty.
The reason I chose airdog vs FASS was simple: I did not like the FASS' idea of drilling huge hole at the bottom of the tank which is leak prone.
Installed (2004 GMC Sierra 3500 Duramax LLY) per manual, started... 2 min later, check engine and OD disabled lights came on.
Scanned and found code P0089 (Fuel Pressure Regulator Performance).
Let's start from the beginning: during installation, I ran into a little problem - pump-to-brackets mounting bolts are too short to accommodate (provided) crush washers. Don't know if it's crucial but definitely shows total negligence towards details, and that's where the devil resides.
When installation was completed, I realized that the feed line used to go to the engine and replaced with a new line is just hanging open. No plug means provided, and neither is that mentioned anywhere in the manual.
Did some research and learned that it's a typical issue a lot of people complain about, and it's caused by incorrectly set at the factory pump pressure. Some show how to adjust pressure but MY pump doesn't have adjustment...
Next morning, called "support". Started with the main issue - check engine light. The individual I had pleasure speaking with was less than friendly and exhibited "why are bothering busy people" attitude. I wouldn't mention that if his advice were useful. Which it was not. In two words, I have to hook up a pressure gauge, check actual pressure, remove the return hose (full of fuel, of course), unscrew the adapter, pull the spring out, and cut one or two coils.
A few problems with this "advice".
Not everyone has a full-blown shop with rare tools like fuel pressure gauge. I happen to be lucky - I do. But (BUT!!!) gm in its infinite wisdom used metric (10x1.5) threads in the fuel filter housing bleed port, and all gauges have pipe adapters only. I couldn't even find 1/8 pipe female (gauge side) to 10x1.5 male (port side) online! I had to make one myself which was a major hassle as you can imagine. Measured pressure - 11 psi. According to online research, optimal pressure is around 8 psi but may vary from engine to engine. The "support" guy did not specify what pressure is needed on the same premise that each engine has it's own level of tolerance. Perfectly gm. With that in mind, how successful can the spring cutting technology by - how many psi each coil lowers pressure to, how many times do I need to struggle with the same procedure cutting little pieces one by one, re-installing everything, checking, and going back?!? Not a winning proposing for a lucky airdog owner.
What REALLY pisses me off is that airdog eliminated pressure regulator from its pump, and the very same airdog outfit sells an external fuel regulator through its accomplices starting at $141. A little more than 20% of the pump price. How convenient!
Bottom line: I sincerely regret buying from this outfit.
