Exactly! They lowered the expansion pack price to $20, but they kept stuff packs at the same price when Sims 4 stuff packs are even cheaper. It makes no sense.

Man, it is *absolutely* wild to come back to your Sims 3 videos and hear you be so enthusiastic compared to The Sims 4. Definitely makes me miss the good ol'days when Sims was a fun game. I think I miss how the sims in TS3 actually felt like different people based on their traits vs the same-y carbon copies in TS4. I also miss being able to actually have enemies in game without sims who are sworn enemies trying to make nice when I leave them to their own devices, like, BRUH I MADE YOU MEAN AND EVIL WHY ARE YOU HAVING A CIVIL CONVERSATION WITH THE ENEMY!?
I hate Bridgeport and never use it. In any other town going to work is a matter of walking out your door, getting in a cab and going to work. In Bridgeport, you gotta wait for the elevator, go down the elevator, go through the stupid tripping animation, go out the building, get in a cab, get out of the cab and walk down the rabbit hole subway, get out of the subway somewhere else, get back in a cab, get to work. All told, it takes nearly 2 hours of game time instead of 20 minutes. I guess that's realistic to real city life, but it's not much fun to play.
I believe there is a mod to eliminate that animation of the Sims getting caught in the doors. I also delete all the subways, because it is incredibly annoying. I had a girl who could walk to work, but she'd instead take a cab to the a subway station and use that to get to another subway that was "closer" to her work, but it was really convoluted way to get there.
Been going back through TS3 after my immense disappointment with 4 and man the first 3 games had so much character even the lowest points of TS3 are not even close to the disappointment of 4
I'm seriously hoping they'll come out with a The Sims 3 complete collection, like they did for the other games, with all expansions and extra content included. I love The Sims 3, but as it is now, it's a complete clusterfuck to keep track of all the content if you want everything.
I think it’s because how unstable the game is when you have all expansions and stuff packs, and that’s without extra cc or extra content. They can’t guarantee it will work on all computers the regular Sims 3 worked on if everything is included. Sims 2 was at least stable enough to release such an edition.
me too😭i thought my game was boring because of the lack of EPs so i went ham with them... bought university and cats & dogs but i got so bored quickly. i enjoyed sims 3 uni life so much because something about it felt so real but the sims 4 uni didn’t not live up to it. many ragretz
I may not play the Sims games, but having watched all of your videos about them I have to say, this is definitely one of the more aesthetically interesting towns available for The Sims 3, at least out of all the ones you've looked at. :)
I only have the base Sims 3 game but watch all of LGR's reviews on every expansion packs. Doesn't make me want to buy any of them but they are freaking fun to watch.
You can add additional lots via the world editing tools in the Sims 3. So yeah, one world in the Sims 3 has more lots than all the worlds in the Sims 4 combined

I mean, if you buy the gold bundle, it gives you enough SimPoints to afford the boardwalk. So you're still only really paying $35 for both. Still, that's a whopping $35 for what is ostensibly not an expansion pack, but a new town and a place-anywhere venue. (Then again, the same could be said for just about anything on the Sims 3 store. Acquiring everything there could rack up a little over a thousand dollars, even with the free points you get from the actual expansions.)
Depending on your creativity, the rollercoaster is definitely worth the cost. The tracks are remarkably flexible in what's considered viable as long as you have moveobjects on. I've had a half circle turn pass through the middle of the loop with no problem. The track pieces are very unobtrusive and don't seem to interfere with the interaction of any nearby items.
Beautiful town, it actually looks like that they put forth an effort to make the town this time around. It doesn't look cheap and/or rushed like the previous towns do... what an improvement to say the least. I like how it's based off of a town set in the 1940s-50s Miami, Florida... with a somewhat New York and LA kind of appearance mixed in to complete the look. But... as always... they are but a bunch of crazy people for their atrocious pricing on this stuff. I would come closer to buying this town over the others though... Side note: glad to see that you are standing up to TH-cam/Google and their recent copyright mumbo jumbo. You are one of my favorite TH-camrs and I have been subbed to you for about a year now, I have enjoyed pretty much every video that I have seen and so by having said all of that... they are messing with not only me but also everyone else who loves your channel. It's only gonna get progressively worse as time goes on and for TH-cam's prime it was was way back then I find. :/ Thanks for the content and everything... it's really appreciated.
Its funny how when this came out it was cool, but admittedly nothing too special. HOWEVER, after five+ years of a lackluster Sims 4, this has turned into premium content in hindsight. Sims 3 is altogether a much better experience than Sims 4, even if Sims 3 has routing and lag issues. I can't imagine Sims 4 churning out something like this today.
Funny thing about “the old fixer upper”, but if you’ve played Sims 2 and gotten the Freetime expansion pack, there’s a vehicle that functions the same way actually in it. It’s basically an old toy put into something with less in it, in fact it was apart of the mechanical hobby.

LGR goes on about the price being a disadvantage of Roaring Heights but looking back now in 2020, I'd rather spend my money on this than on a Sims 4 pack. I actually just logged onto the Sims 3 site just to check my games were already registered ahead of the 64 bit mac release tomorrow, and I was gifted with 1000 sim points! I had no idea the store was still active and there was some pretty good stuff on there. I have Seasons, Parenthood and Get to Work on TS4 as Seasons, Generations and Ambitions were my favourite packs on TS3...but they didn't add as much depth to the game as I'd hoped so I refuse to spend any more money on Sims 4. If everything works well with TS3 on my mac then you can bet I'll be spending my money on stuff like this instead!

You make the best review because you're a no nonsense, straight up kind of guy who calls it as he sees it. There're not all negative but you point out flaws where there are some and the positives if any which is great! I'm glad you're not just another reviewer looking to suck up to EA in the hopes of getting things from them. :)
I don't get why there is a possibility of it being flagged for copyright? It's obvious this what you do. If they take this down, they have to take down yours and EVERY INDIVIDUAL PERSON who also do similar things. I don't understand why it's really an issue since to me EVERYONE or just about everyone knows who The Sims are and a variety of other games are. Plus it's not like you or anyone else doing this is saying the game(s) are bad or even being paid to do so, you all are probably the reason why games are being sold more. It's worth knowing what you are about to buy rather than the small, somewhat okay reviews by the actual creators. I say keep up the great work and ignore this whole Google/TH-cam collaboration that is only making TH-cam worse and making other similar TH-cam websites better now. TH-cam used to be great, no commercials THAT YOU CAN'T SKIP sometimes, no pain of taking surveys before a commericial. But when bigger things take over (corporations/companies - Google), that only makes things worse sometimes. And this is one of the times.
It is not that simple. Yes, things, *should* be just fine doing what I do, but the fact of the matter is they are not right now. They *are* flagging my videos and every individual person's who does similar things! Sadly, what's happened is far more insidious that it seems from the outside. The videos being flagged, for the most part, aren't being taken down; rather, the advertisements on the videos are hijacked by the company which made the claim to the content. This happens automatically and without a buffer period where we can dispute the claim before our money is taken by the claimant. It's a guilty-until-proven-innocent clusterf*ck and there's almost no defense anymore because the networks people are signed with don't have the clout they did before. US copyright is a fickle bedfellow for the average LPer. "Fair Use" only gets us so far. To make things worse, the claims are generally being made by companies which don't own the content at all; most big developers haven't made a single claim. Whether it's because the Content ID bot mistakes a snippet of music for another song, or some tiny hack/shell company has lied and said they own the game and/or music, most of the claims are flat-out false. It's subsidized thievery, plain and simple. On top of that, there shouldn't even be a question of whether or not the review is negative. There have been a couple of incidents where content has been flagged by companies which were dissatisfied by the treatment their game got in a video, and that's unethical. Let's Plays and TH-cam reviews should be a place where people can get honest opinions from people who play the games. This entire thing is about TH-cam balking at the demands of corporations such as Nintendo, and now we're descending into the (please forgive the pun) rabbithole of shady journalism and Triple-A fascism so rampant in most other game industry representation and coverage.

I wonder why they can't just have a set with the venue included directly in it? Why do you have to "purchase" it separately with your sim points? It seems like a very convoluted way of selling these things.

Oh, I have all of sims town and this town is my favourite. 2nd is sunset valley, 3rd is Sunlite tides, 4th is Bridge port, 5th is Paradise island (not mention the glitch)
Since EA release Sims 4, Origin stop making any discounts for Sims 3. I have waiting for it for the last 3 years. I don't want to spend 20 bucks for some Stuff packs that don't worth it! Like: Fast Lane Stuff, Katy Perry's Sweet Treats, Diesel Stuff, etc. But I would like to have them, but not for this price. They not worth this money at all!
I definitely recommend Gearhead Garage if you're looking for a game where you buy junk cars, fix them up, and sell em for profit! I remember playing it back in the day and being surprisingly fun!

You don't have to life in a Apartment and you can delete all subways. Or just go earlier to work
Just use testingcheatsenabled true and teleport them in front of their workplace. Will save you a lot of time

10 years later and this pack is still $20
LGR goes on about the price being a disadvantage of Roaring Heights but looking back now in 2020, I'd rather spend my money on this than on a Sims 4 pack. I actually just logged onto the Sims 3 site just to check my games were already registered ahead of the 64 bit mac release tomorrow, and I was gifted with 1000 sim points! I had no idea the store was still active and there was some pretty good stuff on there. I have Seasons, Parenthood and Get to Work on TS4 as Seasons, Generations and Ambitions were my favourite packs on TS3...but they didn't add as much depth to the game as I'd hoped so I refuse to spend any more money on Sims 4. If everything works well with TS3 on my mac then you can bet I'll be spending my money on stuff like this instead!
I came here after I bought the sims 3 in 2022. I noticed the background music in the beginning is from Legend of Kyrandia 2 Darkmoor Swamp playing in the background.

There're not all negative but you point out flaws where there are some and the positives if any which is great! I don't get why there is a possibility of it being flagged for copyright? It's obvious this what you do. If they take this down, they have to take down yours and EVERY INDIVIDUAL PERSON who also do similar things. I don't understand why it's really an issue since to me EVERYONE or just about everyone knows who The Sims are and a variety of other games are. Plus it's not like you or anyone else doing this is saying the game(s) are bad or even being paid to do so, you all are probably the reason why games are being sold more. It's worth knowing what you are about to buy rather than the small, somewhat okay reviews by the actual creators.
I say keep up the great work and ignore this whole Google/TH-cam collaboration that is only making TH-cam worse and making other similar TH-cam websites better now. TH-cam used to be great, no commercials THAT YOU CAN'T SKIP sometimes, no pain of taking surveys before a commericial. But when bigger things take over (corporations/companies - Google), that only makes things worse sometimes. And this is one of the times.
It is not that simple. Yes, things, *should* be just fine doing what I do, but the fact of the matter is they are not right now. They *are* flagging my videos and every individual person's who does similar things! I'm not just saying this, it has been happening to my channel for over a week and lots of my Sims videos have been falsely flagged already.

Sadly, what's happened is far more insidious that it seems from the outside. The videos being flagged, for the most part, aren't being taken down; rather, the advertisements on the videos are hijacked by the company which made the claim to the content. This happens automatically and without a buffer period where we can dispute the claim before our money is taken by the claimant. It's a guilty-until-proven-innocent clusterf*ck and there's almost no defense anymore because the networks people are signed with don't have the clout they did before.
US copyright is a fickle bedfellow for the average LPer. "Fair Use" only gets us so far.
To make things worse, the claims are generally being made by companies which don't own the content at all; most big developers haven't made a single claim. Whether it's because the Content ID bot mistakes a snippet of music for another song, or some tiny hack/shell company has lied and said they own the game and/or music, most of the claims are flat-out false. It's subsidized thievery, plain and simple.
On top of that, there shouldn't even be a question of whether or not the review is negative. There have been a couple of incidents where content has been flagged by companies which were dissatisfied by the treatment their game got in a video, and that's unethical. Let's Plays and TH-cam reviews should be a place where people can get honest opinions from people who play the games.
This entire thing is about TH-cam balking at the demands of corporations such as Nintendo, and now we're descending into the (please forgive the pun) rabbithole of shady journalism and Triple-A fascism so rampant in most other game industry representation and coverage.

As a novice game developer, this makes me so angry. What the hell kind of copyright system results in me losing control of my own fucking content? If I wanted to make money off people using my content, I couldn't because some backwater company in Korea is already leeching off my content, and if I didn't want content provider's money to be siphoned for using my content, well I have no say in the matter. First piracy and DRM and now this. Seriously, fuck TH-cam.
Katina Bright I usually look at video reviews before I buy a game just to make sure it lived up to the hype, so I agree. I especially like types of reviews like this that have humour infused in the review.

...I was sold until I realized I had to pay an extra $19 for the roller coaster.
I was considering putting those 19k sims points toward Midnight Hollow or something else.
If you buy the gold version that comes with 1900 sim points you can use those points to purchase the rollercoaster lot at no extra cost
I wonder why they can't just have a set with the venue included directly in it? Why do you have to "purchase" it separately with your sim points? It seems like a very convoluted way of selling these things.

Oh, I have all of sims town and this town is my favourite. 2nd is sunset valley, 3rd is Sunlite tides, 4th is Bridge port, 5th is Paradise island (not mention the glitch)

Since EA release Sims 4, Origin stop making any discounts for Sims 3. I have waiting for it for the last 3 years. I don't want to spend 20 bucks for some Stuff packs that don't worth it! Like: Fast Lane Stuff, Katy Perry's Sweet Treats, Diesel Stuff, etc. But I would like to have them, but not for this price. They not worth this money at all!
I definitely recommend Gearhead Garage if you're looking for a game where you buy junk cars, fix them up, and sell em for profit! I remember playing it back in the day and being surprisingly fun!
