My new videos already have my voice in them, and not this robot voice. I know it's annoying, but it was the way I found to post this video since I'm shy to record with people around, but after I posted it I received a lot of encouragement to use my own voice, so that's what I did 😌 Thank you for the encouragement 💖
That explains it, I was wondering if this is all AI voice or not, since it did sound robotic, however some people who are not English speakers or just have a lisp etc do train their voice to sound like this for a video but it still sounded uncanny valley. But hey whatever works for you, long as you can deliver the message and not sound way too weird its all fine. I personally am not picky but sometimes I cant help and wish some people use alternatives, on this VO topic alone cant help but say that I recently found Matricore (I think that is her channel name) and for the life of me I can't stand her voice at all to the point I wish she uses AI voice for her videos ... She legit sounds like a villain even when speaking of generic things alone feels like its grinding my braincells even tho the topics in her videos are good. But I just cant go through her videos at all anymore. Almost as if I am hearing a female Hitler ...
@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy I totally get that AI voices can sound a bit uncanny! I'm not a fan, but it was the way I found to post. So I used it. I was super shy about using my own voice at first, but everyone’s support in the comments gave me the confidence to try it out and now I'm using my own voice in all my recent videos. And I like it 💖 Hopefully, it feels more natural and connects better. I'm always working to improve!
when i was younger and playing barbies w my sis i think we had a scenario where the kids cut and dyed their hair, and we actually did that💀 also, when i played alone i think i made a scenario where one died or smth😭💀
I loved the chaos in the sims 2 and 3. Especially in the third game, I loved to be a menace, starting fires, fighting mummies, making graffity on university buildings, skinny dipping, attacking public spaces with my alien ship, crashing parties and romancing any hot sim I found on the map. It allowed me to live up messy fantasies which I couldn't do irl, since I've always lived peaceful and a bit sheltered life as a teen
@@Atrament04 Yes!! Love the chaos. Yesterday while playing The Sims 2, my Sim's girlfriend went to his house while he was at work and stole his dirty newspaper and run away 😅 I'm always experiencing new things on a game that I play for more than a decade!!
Also in Sims 2 all the sims in the household would automatically come to eat when a meal is served, AND if someone was already cooking they would just "stuff face" at the fridge instead of getting a whole plate of random food.
For me the biggest loss of fun in Sims was the open world from S3. I used to be able to have my sims go out on a whim, tavel across town to visit neighbours, play with pets, go play guitar in the park, teens could sneak out after dark and go on a rebellious adventure while dodging police! In Sims 4 with every cell divided by loadscreens and towns being split into tiny fishbowls, I just don't want to leave home as much. I don't care if the loading screen take half a pikosecond. It's an annoyance. My PC can run cyberpunk2077 and RDR2 on medium-high setting, it can load a single neighborhood block in Sims 4 all at once! But no, I have to deal with interruptions and having my own lot turn into rabbit hole when I go visit my neighbor down the street. So when I played, my sims didn't go out as much if at all. And why would I want to play a couch potato shut-in? I already am one in real life! I don't want to pay upwards of $500 to simulate this mind-blowing experience
I agree with you and I also find the loading screen extremely annoying. I think it makes you want to stay at home all the time to avoid it. The Sims 2, for example, is the opposite of 4 even with the loading screen, it's super fun even when you're at home, it has a lot of good animation and fun. TS3 really innovated with the open world and that was so cool ://
My thing is, I love the added realism but I wish I didn’t have to pay for it. Laundry, vacuuming, seasons, etc. should’ve been free updates that you could disable if that’s not your gameplay style. It’s a life simulation game! Why should added realism to a life simulation game cost this much money??
For real! Paying for such an ordinary thing is awful, it should have been free as an update for the base game, but now it's like a puzzle, you need a bunch of packs in order to have these options available 🥴💲
Honestly, packs were handled a lot better in previous Sims games... They just are trying to milk money from the players by giving them a dopamine rush from playing new stuff in the Sims 4, then once that is gone, they buy another pack and then another and another! And I think EA knows what it's doing by giving large Sims content creators free packs, so they can showcase the packs for other simmers to feel FOMO 😭
@@donut1550 that's why having competitors it's necessary, otherwise the company can just do what it wants which is what EA has done with the TS4 😓 maybe the new upcoming games can make EA fear a bit, but tbh I'm not really hopeful lol
i actually don’t mind the pack format … especially if the base game is free to play…honestly money has to be paid somewhere.. but there use to be two pack types …. expansions which were huge game changers and stuff packs which were STUFF but like 100s of stuff to add to your game including functional objects, not the slim pickings of a sims 4 kit. Now stuff packs are little gameplay things, kits are little handfulls if incomplete assets, and game packs are basically hyper focused and theme locked. If we got a big beefy house care expansion that had laundry, vacuums, maybe lawn mowing, etc etc and that needs to cost money as a big beefy pack cause the game is free, great. That’s the cost of free-to-play, you pay for the addins. But now packs cost more to give us less per dollar.
i loved that in every career in sims 2 you had this weird job scenario in the middle of the day with a long text about a totally random situation at work. a full screen explanation of a wildly random scenario that was so thematically sims 2 that you couldn't make this shit up. and you only had two options how your working sim should react (both kind of nonsensical). but choosing one would get you promoted, the other one fired or even charged money. sometimes less severe. but it was totally random. this total randomness of everyday life combined with the extreme attention to detail (still better than the sims 4) made sims 2 so comforting. the sims 4 is more fun for people who want: "if you're willing to pay 1000 bucks for DLCs you can have the most perfect life and family ever". but it's not funny or entertaining at all. i digged deeper in the employee situation at maxis after sims 2 and a lot of the creatives who made it special already left after sims 2 because EA became more and more greedy and controlling. really sad. those were the OGs who invented the iconic weirdness of The Sims
The best thing about burglars in the Sims 3 was when the police arrived and the burglar casually walked out past the officer, while the officer came in to talk to your sim and just completely ignored the burglar.
I love how every gamer community who gets into contact with EA somehow ending up hating them. :D Sims FIFA/FC Madden Mass Effect Battlefield Need for Speed Star Wars F1
Sims used to be a virtual dollhouse, but now it's way too complicated and realistic to be just that. It tries too hard to be a copy of the real world. I'm all for more customization when it comes to CAS or building, but there's just too much to do in live mode, it's overwhelming.
This!!! I agree, TS4 build and CAS are awesome, I do love building in it (love the aesthetic) but when it comes to the gameplay the interactions are waaay too complex, I don't like to keep thinking what bubble option to choose from to build a relationship with another Sim 😅 it's already difficult in real life 😭
That’s interesting cause I swear I hear people complain that the game isn’t realistic *enough* . Meanwhile I nearly die of boredom when I try to play with normal sims and do normal family stuff. I legit cannot play without occult sims. The only exception to this rule are farmer sims (and celebrities as I’ve found). You…you get it and I appreciate it 💀
What are you talking about? Past sims had depth and lore and fun yet challenging gameplay. Then with 4 it became dollhouse simulator (amazing customization, extremely lackluster gameplay), and now it's it's dollhouse simulator with dressings and sprinkles ontop. All surface level, no depth. But I can see how the adding new stuff is very cluttered and unorganized, because of the adding of the new dressings and sprinkles. At the very least, some of its optional..
Get rid of AI voice and use your real voice. Not a hater, I just think it would genuinely help to build the channel. AI voiceovers were a thing for a couple of years but now everybody is starting to get sick of that and content that is real and comes from a real person and real mouth is being somewhat of an added value nowadays. Keep it up and try to reconsider that.
I agree that it feels more personable to have your own voice. If that feels a bit to public, you could do what spill sesh did and modify your voice just a tiny bit. I did like your points on the Sims and that it just feels a bit to much like real life, which doesn't feel as fun. I miss the chaos of the earlier Sims games
I feel a bit embarrassed to record my voice so that's why I opted for a robot, I know it can be annoying but this is the way I found to make this video 🥺 I'll try to encourage myself to record the next ones, as I understand how it can be! Thank you for your comment 💖
Not everyone is comfortable and skillful to use their voice for videos. Don't push yourself. I personally liked the ai version, because it sounded more sharp and critical. It suited the coldness of the sims 4. @@fruiteast
It's funny you mentioned vacuuming, because I think Bust the Dust kit did bring fun to the game. Not with vacuuming, but with when you don't vacuum. Those Dust Bunnies are pretty hillarious in the right Sims fashion. It's shame, though, we don't have more of these funny moments in Sims 4. But there still is fun in the game. Like, in Seasons, showering in the rain is pretty funny. Or sending bees on your enemies. We also have monsters under the bed, which may be annoying, but is also pretty funny. But I agree that these funny moments are scarce and often overshadowed with too much realism. Sims 4 really should take hints from their predecessors and stop being so serious.
@@petrnovak7235 It's really scarce 😓 like one person said: it's a shame that all of these come in kits that you have to purchase instead of a free update for the base game, so in order to have fun you have to spend money 🥺
And sometimes i find that where realism is needed, there is lack of it. At least the toddlers are cute. But honestly, ive never played sims 4 with humor. Id like to see funny things happen. And not just me amused when grim reaper has the time of his life after a sim dies. Or laughing when you edit Greg and it says 'beware Greg'
Showering in the rain can’t beat getting struck by lightning for jumping in a puddle. Bees are alright but not nearly as funny as the chinchilla or bird attacks in Sims Medieval… The possibility of getting murdered by a chicken in the farm expansion is hilarious, but you have to work too hard to make it happen. The only low effort fun I found is that foxes love talking to smart toilets.
I love TS4 CAS but I still go back to TS3 for gameplay. It's somehow both more realistic AND more entertaining, chaotic and engaging. It's more realistic bc you feel like your actions have so many consequences, and open world makes you feel like there's endless possibilities, but it's also more entertaining bc the game takes itself less seriously overall.
I very much miss consequences. I remember early on trying to create a game with a very evil Sim and his brother, who were both trying to win over the same person, but there were absolutely no lasting repercussions for anyone, which made things far too boring. I really haven't tried any interesting gameplay like that since then, which was around when "Get to Work" came out.
I love its open world, I remember when I played it for the first time and I found it so realistic and surreal, I was so amazed! The issue was the loading time to start playing 😂 I used to play on a 2GB RAM laptop, and it took forever. I have a better PC now but let's say that from 30 minutes that it used to take, it takes 5 minutes now, so it's a huge improvement 😅😅 It's a shame that The Sims 3 is so poorly optimized, being the heaviest of its siblings, but I was very upset when TS4 was launch and it didn't have an open world 😭
@@MandPKratz We can't make experiment with our Sims anymore 😪 You made a very good point, in The Sims 4 our Sims doesn't have much personality, There are no consequences for any action, and this makes everything boring because nothing happens. Like in the expansion you mentioned, you accompany your Sim to work and that's it, it's a normal job. If only they made funny things happen during work...
This ate!!! I’d like to mindful as well tho that this is same game that allows you to have werewolves, mermaids, alien same sex children, childbirth via Beyoncé robot machine etc. I agree with the thesis of the video, the sims 4 is missing organic character, all the character comes from player driven interactions but at the sims 4 by itself can still be enjoyable. I wish we were getting a sims 5 but they might start making the game better now that it’d be profitable to actually listening to players. Realism isn’t the problem it’s the lack of characteristic charm that’s supposed to accompany it!!
This is a great video that brings up many good points! If anyone else is struggling with making their game fun, I'd like to recommend a thing I like to do. For example, of course you're gonna get bored if you constantly make a werewolf sim, using only the werewolf pack CAS, only the werewolf build mode, and put them in Moonwood Mill. It gets tiring after doing the same thing over and over again. But, think about it, what about... Making a werewolf who lives on the Sulani island? Making farmer mermaids who live in Henford-on-Bagley? Mix and match different packs and watch chaos ensue! That's the thing I love doing to make the game more fun - mixing packs that seemingly don't have anything in common. When I make goth werewolf ranchers living in Sulani and watch this absolute nonsense on my screen, my heart fills with joy Sometimes you gotta try find certain "connective points" in different packs. Like werewolf and island living. Find something they have in common, like... Trash!!! Moonwood Mill is filled with trash, Sulani is filled with trash, it's a perfect match! I always put those flipflops from Island living on my werewolves because it just fits. And suddenly it doesn't seem so weird anymore, suddenly you can make it work. So, try that sometime, even if what I'm saying doesn't make sense. Make werewolf beach dwellers. Make mermaid country horse girls. Go nuts
I am solo developing a life sim game (there are two devlogs in my channel if you wanna check them out), inspired by both the Sims and games like Dwarf Fortress. I am getting closer to a playable demo, and now I am in the process of "finding the fun", that's how I arrived to your video. The last section really spoke to me, I have some humor in there and I want to have more of that, but I also have stuff that may turn out to be grindy and boring, like every object existing in the world instead of appearing out of thin air when needed, meaning that you have to deal with the clutter, and also the millenial struggle of not being able to afford a house. I do miss the chaos and quirkiness of the first two Sims games, maybe I should focus on that, and only add realism where it makes sense.
@@efepalism I saw your devlogs, I love pixel art games! I think it reminds me a lot of old games, and there's something special about them, right? Since you've already searched for "finding fun" and are inspired by The Sims, you've probably already come across discussions about what the Sims 2/3 community prefers, in addition to listening to what your community wants too, so you're already on the right track! And find ways to add the charms from the other games you are inspired by to your own game. I have subscribed to your channel 💖
@@fruiteast Thanks for the reply and the subscription! I have been checking discussions on the sims 1/2/3/4, reading all types of opinions. Trying to figure out what makes them work if you remove the layer of nostalgia. There are very different opinions, of course, from people liking the weird first games to people enjoying doing laundry in the Sims 4. Let's see where the development takes me and what the community thinks, but for now I'm really inspired by the idea of making a fun parody of reality.
I've played all Sims games on PC from the first to Sims 4 (including the 'story' spin-off games for Sims 2 and the Medieval spin-off for Sims 3) and I definitely enjoyed Sims 2 and 3 the most because they were unpredictable and full of fun things to do and fun stuff that just happened.
you explained it very precisely. i only play TS1 and TS2, TS4 was just disappointing... for me, it was the amount of choice I had, it just added so much complexity that the game lost a little bit of its magic! i mean, 4 ways to eat yogurt for breakfast? do we really need that? we could go to work and perform some tasks to make more money, that was such a great idea for the expansion, but the execution was below expected, full of bugs. TS1 and TS2 are still the best ones, in my opinion. :)
Exactly! Once in a while I always try to play TS4 but I always end up feeling overwhelmed or bored. I play more now for the building and decorating as it's something I like. But I'm always playing TS2 or TS3, geez it's sooo much better 😅 I started playing TS1 this years and I find it so cool!
@@fruiteast nice! The construction in TS4 is great, I always make my own house when I want to redecorate or renovate something in real life 😂 oh, and TS1 is so magical, I'm glad you've started!
I haven't played the other Sims games but Sims 4 is great for me. It always surprises me and I can add endless CC. I don't think I'll get bored any time soon
I came to playing The Sims last week, a game that I loved in my childhood playing 1 and 2. I had played 4 a little, but I only like the graphic style and the multi-tasking. All the rest is boring and you need zillions of expansion packs to be fun, and you still going to have the funny experience of older The Sims games. I'm playing The Sims 3 and rediscovering the game I hadn't played, just the base game. I'm having fun specially with the open world, that's a great idea! Buuuut, we don't have the same fun as The Sims 2. The Sims 3 get the execution better than 2, but 2 has Open For Business experience never ever repeated, unfortunately, for example. I'm looking for a The Sims killer to hauahauaha🎉
I agree! We can love The Sims 3 but The Sims 2 is something else, there's so much to it, I love the details of interaction that it has 💖 Hope one day someone will create something crazy and fun like this!
I agree with this TH-camr. The gaming industry has become a money making monster. Bugs and glitches plaguing the games is common place. They don't fix anything because it costs money to fix things, but new content makes money. It has become so expensive to play games that people need to chose between gaming and having food in the fridge. On top of this they don't fix these expensive games when they need to be fixed. This is not the just the Sims 4, it is every game in the world. You are absolutely correct. The Sims creators didn't have anyone to compete with so they were able to ignore the customers. I've noticed a lot of changes from them recently. They are getting nervous now that others are trying to make competition for Maxis and EA Games. I've seen numerous surveys from Maxis and EA Games right on the game's dashboard. This is something that they never did. I've complained to EA Games on numerous occasions and got no action from them. I hate to see anyone getting nervous, but I also agree that each of us need a little wake up call and some humble pie once in awhile. Maxis and EA Games might be getting theirs. I really enjoy the Sims 4. But it has gotten ridiculous. The other problem with the Sims 4 is that they don't have a uniformed programming which is what causes the bugs and glitches. There are some many programmers that had their hands in the pie dough of the Sims 4. On top of this, they added the Sims Delivery Express and the in game advertising which just adds to the instability. If they want this game to continue and succeed? They need to remove things and unify the programming so everything works properly, and fix the bugs and glitches. I'm assuming that if they remove the advertising and the Sims Delivery Express and make the menus uniformed it might fix most of the bugs and glitches. The more simplistic and unified something is? The better it will work.
You have a point. Even the book names alone was a reason to laugh back then. And sims 4 has one funny stuff as well that I noticed. Gnomes makes your life hell if you don’t give them stuff they like. Once I gave one coffee, and it didn’t forgive me so i kicked him and they all punished me. That was funny 😂
Meanwhile, the Sims 1, aka. the one to start the whole franchise in a whole, was like the Nintendo Hard version of the Sims era. Like if your Sim's mood was in the red, good luck with having a disobedient Sim 'nuh uh'ing at you to take care of their needs first before they do something productive like learning a skill or two.
I know, right?? If you ask you Sims in TS4 to do something like study when the fun is red, they'll do it anyway 😅 it's like always having an obedient kid.
@@fruiteast Unless free will's on and you're playing with a family of four that has the Sim you chose to play with decided to stop doing a task you want them to do to like dance or something. I was not too keen on their shenanigans that I used the ingame cheats to get her skills up and get enough aspiration points for the youth potion over I wanna finish the reaper event. XD
The Sims used to be pure comedy gold. We got to simulate life AND have a laugh about it. I used to chortle about them swimming through the floor. Who remembers that bug? Remember school buses that came to pick up the kids? And the office commute? People building enormous mazes for their sims to run through so they'd be exhausted by the time they got to the car? Everything was just funnier and more light-hearted. I play TS4 but my game is so heavily modded - I'm not kidding, literally almost 70 mods at this point. A huge thank you to the Sims 4 modding community - the game would be unplayable without you all.
I also despise how long loading takes in the sims 4 sometimes. Like i acidentally opened up the wrong save today and it took like a full 5 minutes to get into the other save
Yes! I miss the weirdness of the older games as well. They already made it a bit tamer with Sims 3 but still enjoyable but with the newest game, it just feels like actual work you have to do (If they aren't constantly stopping what they are supposed to do, to dance or play videogames on the computer :/). It feels dead, all the charm is gone and there was no love put into it. Yes, companies only make games to make money, but they still need to at least pretend like they care about the game and it's players, and EA clearly doesn't.
TS4 has occults. That's basically all the silliness it has and that's just sad. TS3 (And I'm sure previous ones, I'm a 3 person) has so much more life, raunchiness, quirkiness. TS4 is so corporate and watered down for children. With every single expansion they put out, they play it too safe. Where's crazy things like Into The Future? Indepth generational gameplay like Generations? Why should I have to buy Parenthood which is a fraction of a TS3 pack but even worse? I'm so tired
Exactly! It lacks the cool chaotic part, I also wonder why are they playing so safe? Well, being an online game that is always updating at least EA can still fix it one day 🥴
i really agree with ur points here even about the packs you mentioned being stale, unfunny compared to the Sims 2, however i really liked the knitting pack bc I'm a knitter so I'm kind of biased towards that pack so i gotta disagree on that example :,)
First, I enjoyed your video Secondly: I remember when Sims 3 came out, and I liked the the newness of the open world and build capabilities, but was wishing for improved graphics (which we did not get), but in the end, I just wanted the Sims 2 with more capabilities, building and better graphics. When Sims 4 came out, I wanted the same again. and, as much as I would have loved a Sims 5 to finally build on all that was lost, I had not hope that if one would be made, that that would happen. It seems to me that they lost sight of what people thought entertaining, and instead read it as "zany" which was then interpreted as something more related to a fart joke. Now, I still see remnants of the original humour in the game, but angry poops was not it (I would cast that into the abyss if I could). What we are missing, and what they gave up? Remember the Sims 2 trailer? With the couch scene and when she rips off her bra?? and again, then again.... they did a smashing job setting the whole meet, fall in love, family stuff, and in a very fun way. (watched that trailer so many times btw) I want that back.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video 💖 Many people also agree that the open world of The Sims 3 with the capacity of The Sims 2 would be a great mix, I myself think so too 😫 After TS4 being so broken, the best thing EA did was not release a 5 😅😅 The Sims wasn't an "online" game that could always be updated, so I believe that today they do everything for money.
The Sims is the OG/ the Mother…Sims 2 is made of Love, Sims 3 is an Innovation and Revolution, Sims 4 is … is…a Disappointment, a Disgrace to Humanity..😂😂😂
Okay, I totally didn't expect anyone to use a snippet out of a video made by me. 😂😂 On another note, for me at least, TS4 was a major dissapointment on release because it literally took away almost every feature that the previous games have improved upon and the following packs and things left much to be desired. Not to mention the fact that now to get a very minor feature that comes with a pack, you have to fork out an arm and a leg. Also... Just subbed to the channel!
@@MihaiGradin Do you mean the old The Sims 2 videos I used as reference? I don't know if I understood correctly 🙈 Yep, TS4 took away a lot of the essence of what the franchise was about. And many packages that could have come in one, now they split... DLCs don't seem as fun as they used to 😓
installing sims 3 as we speak... :P i was late to the sims craze because i was much younger and well.. we didn't have CD games in the house,I always played flash games. I love sims 4 only for the beautiful dressup/buildbuy. but the rest is just boring... :(
The Sims 4 is full of chores that are way too close to real life drudgery to be fun. Oh you want your sim to advance in their career? Oops, sorry, there's someone who doesn't like them and they're blocking their promotions. You want to be a werewolf and join a pack? Well, you can, sure, but you're gonna have to do your homework. You'll have to keep doing your little tasks over and over and over like it's a job or you're going to get kicked out. You want to raise an infant? Cute! But you're going to have to keep on top of your chores. An infant needs to learn a lot and they're asleep too much to actually learn any of it so good luck! I don't mind realism in my sims games, but I don't want to keep running after my sims like I'm their parent making sure that the kids are not only doing their homework, but also the chores for their extracurriculars and the parents are doing their chores for work and they're actually GOING to work and not just standing around and glitching and people are looking after the infants and oh! Oh they're sleepy again, why do they keep picking them up and trying to put them in the high chair when they're sleepy? Why do they keep trying to snatch them out of the crib? Oh god, this infant doesn't want to sleep alone, that's another chore to keep on top of. It's so needlessly stressful and sure, games can be stressful and still be fun, but endless realistic chores is not it.
I agree, it seems like we need to always be guiding our Sims on what to do. When the fun is watching them do it themselves, without having to be a babysitter. This adds more possibilities to the stories, and makes it much more deeper 💖
a lot of modern games are too serious for me...i liove cities skylines but i miss till to day the whimsical nonsens of sim city....and i feel the same about paralives and inzoi...
@@elivenya-theautisticbookwy9638 I feel you! I wished we had more games like Themed Hospital as well, just nonsense and funny 😪 I'm also not excited about Inzoi or Paralives, guess we'll have to stick with the old ones.
This is why washing machines and laundry baskets were a complete waste for me in the sims 3 ambitions. Unlike real life sims change so often and they can’t reuse the clothes they took off for the wash even if they on wore it for a second. The result was more in game stress than irl.
The sims 2 and 3 really are so much better not just with the fun chaos but the attention to detail sims 4 uses the same animation for like everything not to mention you get ten times the content per pack and you got actual gameplay that actually works unlike sims 4 wedding and apartment packs which I don’t even have I have like 6 packs before I stopped buying and the game is still so broken it barely functions thankfully I own all the previous sims games!
Ι'm a realistic gameplay players but this is not even close to enjoyable. This is toxic, unfun, broken, misleading, exploitive, sloppy, unfinished, uninspiring, lawsuit worthy and many more things I could add but the comment would be 1B characters too many for a comment.
I imagine that even for those who like it, The Sims 4 still leaves a lot to be desired. It's one patch trying to fix the other. Animations that stop suddenly, without looping. Lack of muchness 😅 lacks seasoning.
@ I hate the shit 4 since 2014 but I had a hope it would somehow be better, with patches and fully fleshed out expansions. Instead, it’s a DLC simulator. Nothing compares to the sims 3 if you ask me which was the predecessor. Hell, the shit 4 can’t even be compared to the sims 2 and the sims 1.
A lot of the problem stems from the fact that Sims 4 devs try to please everyone, and can't decide who their audience should be. E.g. they didn't want to implement burglars because they received feedback that it "causes anxiety". They renamed the "insane" trait into "erratic" and changed its icon because players complained the former was insensitive towards people with schizophrenia. They now made it so sims that are dazed (e.g. from drinking "nectar") will always refuse woohoo, when initially it actually made them easier to agree to woohoo, but players complained it reminded them of S.A. A lot of the things that passed in the Sims 2 and 3 simply would no longer fly with the current humor and the "cozy game" genre audience they've developed, when originally the games were more directed at male gamers just messing around. The Sims 4 is so realistic because they can't commit to parodying realism in a way that's detached enough from it that doesn't seem offensive.
What you said makes a lot of sense, the generation is very "sensitive". I imagine that many developers have the same thought of "I can't do this because some people don't like it", but you can't please everyone. I play TS and I don't think these options are offensive, I think it's a parody and really funny. I started playing as a child and I carry this parody vision with me, I think that many people started playing as adults and started to connect a lot of things in life to the game, which was supposed to be something to relax and have fun...🤷🏼♀️
That might be why I don't like inzoi and other games like that, I think packs like life and death helps fix this problem a little by adding some more cartoony features!
I like how The Sims is very cartoony and I wish there was a simulation game like that but with comedy. Idk I just enjoy the chaos 😂 Let's hope EA makes more packs like this.
I agree. Honestly, what made the Sims 4 not fun for me is it being so expensive. (Mind you I've been playing the sims for only 8 months) I really enjoyed it at first but when I discovered mods I had way more fun, with mods you could have VERY similar things that EA paywalls. I always say if you need your games community to make your game better, you need to fix it. I've bought 2 packs and after a while their not even fun. (I deeply regret buying them now) And with their recent updates ESPECIALLY the romantic boundaries its not fun anymore. I can't have a couple without one of them being enraged at their mate because they think their mate cheated or their loves dying or whatever idk 😭when I JUST CREATED THEM. Honestly there's so much more i could rant about but my comment would be way to long. All that to say I stopped playing Sims and moved onto other games.
I agree, the packs are very expensive and sometimes there are themes that could come in a single pack. Not to mention that some are even trivial. It's basically a money-suck. I see a lot of TH-camrs who play a lot of TS4 and still always complain about something in the game. I have fun playing The Sims 2 today, which is the best of its siblings, without a shadow of a doubt 💖
You can always come back to the roots. I reinstalled TS2 and living the dream. I dodge TS4 in every way, I played for like 20-30 hours and that's it and probably never will play it again not because of stubborness but because it is boring for me.
@@firaszerneboch3223 I do!! I love playing The Sims 2, this year I started playing The Sims 1 and I totally love it! I'm always happy to know that people do still play TS2! I do have some videos of it here too. The Sims 4 only works for me to create buildings and decoration, otherwise I'm off 🤣🤣
The first thing I found weird was moving to an apartment and having an earthquake, I thought "what's this for?" and my Sim was scared to death. Nah thx 🤣🤣
Exactly, If only the game execution was as good as The Sims 2, with full animations (there's not even loop in TS4 animation, your Sim just suddenly stops and repeats) and details. I hope one day they'll release the full game, I'm tired of playing the beta 🤣🤣
@@fruiteast it was. They made a poll. I don't remember the other options but laundry day was the most boring one. I think another option was something with an arcade? Some people really just want realism I guess.
The fun comes when you replicate GrayStillPlays's experiments 😎 (I ADORE to watch people's builds on The Sims 4 though, it's quite satisfying in my opinion)
Playing Sims 2 again made me get excited over watching sims make food. Its intricate, relaxing but doesnt drag on like Sims 4. I would love if there were some asmr Sims 2 cooking videos.... 😂
I love to see them cooking!! I'm a sucker for sound design and The Sims 2 rocks at it, watching them cook it is relaxing 😍 My first video here on the channel has a bit of Sims cooking (It's a sandwich but it's still 'delicious' to hear) 🤣
I enjoy the realistic stuff, but I also enjoy the winking and charm the parody elements bring. Problem with the realism thing for me is... they don't actually do it well. 💀And everything is broken or on the verge of breaking.
Ngl, I would HATE the Sims 2. I have autism and I like to be in control of the things I'm doing. I don't want a random unexpected bunny or burglar to pop up, I don't want my sims randomly dying, I don't want anything random! I like the coziness. I like the higher graphics. I like to dress up my little dolls/sims, build their house, have them tend to gardens and raise little animals, find love, have babies, cook and clean and just live a happy life. I also love to do this with occults, just to give it an extra touch of fantasy. But I mainly use the game for CAS and Build/Buy, cause even when I was a child playing with actual dolls, I rarely ever had deep storylines with them. I would spend hours putting a dress on, taking it off, putting another on, shaking the dolls around, and have them talking to each other. I also played LEGO I loved planning and building houses, making schools, homes, what have you. And I can do all that in the Sims. Give little dresses to my pretty little characters and build houses, castles, parks, and whatever I want. And if I want little characters to talk to each other and play out a story, I just whip up AO3 and write it!
@@LettiKiss Thanks so much for sharing your perspective! I completely understand, especially with wanting that cozy, controlled gameplay where you can create the life you want for your Sims without the unexpected chaos. It’s awesome that The Sims 4 gives you the tools to do exactly that, from CAS to Build/Buy. It’s completely fine to love the more realistic, cozy style that The Sims 4 offers. There are even games like Inzoi that lean into that realistic experience. At the same time, I think a lot of people, like myself, miss the quirky charm and randomness of The Sims 2, with all its unexpected surprises and funny moments 💖
What annoys me to no end, that is not the obvious shite gameplay and abundant cashgrab DLC, is the far too exaggerated animations the sims in TS4 have. The sims look like soulless plastic dolls and their animations is a jarring mixup that makes the artist inside me weep. The art direction for everything else is... fine. It's the sims that are just, incredibly ugly due to the style and animation direction the devs decided to go with for them. I know mods can make the sims look great but you really shouldn't need mods to do that. Sigh... I long for the day this game no longer gets DLC or development, be it through the players finally choosing to stop kissing EA's arse or that EA themselves crash and burn into the void. Man, one can dream :')
Parabéns pelo vídeo!! Sinto exatamente da mesma forma, o The Sims 2 foi de longe o melhor e feito com mais carinho dos 4. Você saberia me dizer por onde jogar o TS2?
That Gordon Ramsey reaction clip you inserted perfectly describes how I feel about the entirety of TS4 since day one up to these days and there is nothing that the future will make a difference so with that said I will just leave it at that. However I will just add few things. TS4 have some neat building tools and that is pretty much it, everything else is pointless. Some would say why even bother to build something that will never be used, nevermind just that, often your creations get deleted or broken, which further begs the question why even bother AT ALL?! Yeah I don't know ... Some streamers and monetized platform content creators that build I get it, you get paid for it, its entertainment for some to be around that, while for everyone else who is running on fumes and being tricked by placebo effects idk, all I can say I feel sorry for you whoever you are on what you burn your time away (and money) on while life is extremely short and rather be spent living it. Hope you learned something today, thank you for reading.
@@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy I totally get that! The Sims 4 can feel pretty empty outside of build mode. I actually enjoy just the building part as its own thing (even if it will never be used 😅), as I like building games. For me, though, the creative process itself is worth it, it’s a way to relax and express myself. I see it as time well spent, like any hobby. But I totally get that everyone sees it differently.
I know It can be annoying but I'm a bit shy to record myself when there's people around, so this was the way I found to make this video 🥺 I'll try to record myself next time!
Bro I really just got Sims 2 again after watching all the comparisons between 2,3, and 4. I still have a love for 3, but I remember even when it was fresh thinking wtf is this? Why does it feel like LESS? When 4 came out, I gave it a fair trial, and was sorely disappointed. It looks so cartooney and cheap. It feels vapid and soulless. Sims 1 and 2 were my childhood, guess I'm going back to that for now. Lord, I'm even playing Simcity 4, Underground 2, Mafia, and Black and White again lmao.
@@dl4048 I spend almost a decade only playing TS3, as I thought going back was a downgrade, but boy was I wrong!! I'm amazed to see a twenty-year-old game being better than the new ones, TS2 was definitely something else 💖 I'm glad I started to play it again, It's just fun and I always laugh at something new each time I play! I never played Simcity 4, is it the best for you? I'm curious about it!
@@fruiteast I've played just about every major city building game you can list, but despite coming out in 2003-4, Simcity 4 is by far the best city builder I've ever played, with one possible exception being Cities: Skylines (with many mods), but it's just so straightforward, detailed yet not overwhelming, and on modern hardware it runs smooooth. I used to struggle with 15fps just to play it with a big city. I still remember my largest on a medium map being named "Santa Maria City", had 275k pop, which for me was a milestone. Oh, you can also make sims and follow their lives in Simcity 4. You can also create maps in Simcity 4 and port them into Sims 2, so I've heard. Haven't tried it myself yet but sounds really cool. :)
@@dl4048 Omg, I had no idea about that! I knew about the game but I didn't think it would be like this, I am very curious about it! I'll definitely try it. Thank you for you comment 💖
@@remenemenev You mean the voice? The voice is a robot from capcut (I pinned my comment where I explained why I used it). The video I wrote and edit it myself 🤔 by the way my new videos have my own voice in them now ☺️
Even if you don't like your own voice, use a "voice changer" or tweak the audio in free software like audacity. Soon as I head the AI voice, I clicked off.
@@ashleyanne2056 I don't mind my voice, I'm just shy recording around other people/family, I know it's annoying but using a robot voice was the way I found to post this video. My new videos have my voice now, no more robot voice 💖
Not to be that guy but often if you're not having fun the problem is you, not the game. And nostalgia is a big factor here. Plenty of people are having a lot of fun with the modern sims, including me despite having started with 1 and having played 2 the most. Plus not having to pay for them also sweetens the deal if you catch my drift. I feel like a lot of people who say they're not having fun with TS4 just are used to playing TS2 in a specific way. Me, I just like making sims and posing them and decorating houses and playing with my OCs in a dollhouse, not making huge families or stuff like that. I like the added realism etc. I find it hard to come back to TS2 now for this reason because it's not optimal for that type of gameplay I prefer now.
@@Jhud69 You're not that guy, don't worry 😅 you're just pointing out your opinion the same way I did! As I said in the video, there's nothing wrong with liking the realistic style. My criticism was the lack of comedy and chaos that the franchise previously had, and how I miss that in games. Nostalgia might be a factor if I didn't play The Sims 2 or 3 anymore, but I still play them and I love playing them, to me it's actually hard to play TS4, I only play to build houses now. If The Sims 4 wants to go super realistic, that's fine. I just hope there are people who want to make parody games so we can have these in the future. Just like I like playing Themed Hospital and Two Point Hospital and I think it's hilarious. That's what I miss about games these days 💖😪
I honestly think one of the mistake so many of you make is, to compare Sims 4 with 1, 2 and 3. They are all separate games, based on the same idea/concept. Sims 4 has a lot of great things in it, even though I don't like or agree with everything. If you expect the exact same thing in Sims 4 as in Sims 2, then there's no reason to make a new game - or you can just play Sims 2 instead. They've also announced there's not gonna be a Sims 5 and they're gonna focus a lot more on Sims 4. That's good news. It's really fascinating how so many people have so pink nostalgic glasses on. Sims 3 was a NIGHTMARE game, with lag, crashes and bugs even on high end computers. Sims 2 was good, I don't remember how much it bugged (I was a kid), but it had none of a lot of the Sims 4 features, and you can't evolve further on Sims 2, it's an old game.
@@LuvableCharlin As I said in a comment here, I'm more criticizing the lack of animation(that don't loop and stop abruptly), Sims bumping inside furnitures when trying to move, a lot of bugs that each patch tries to fix it, in short: the way they made the game seems to be lacking professionalism. It's a shame it took them a decade to decide to focus more on the game. It could have been something they did in the beginning and maybe I wouldn't have needed to create this video. I didn't create this video just with my memory of what The Sims 2 was like, but my current experience as I still play it 🤷🏼♀️ been playing The Sims 2 and 3 for almost two decades now. I love these two 💖
@@fruiteast I agree with a lot tho. It's so nice there's coming 6 or 7 new life sims soon, so they're not the only choice, might be what inspired them, lol. The bugs are finally getting addressed... The one where plants reset over night, again and again, is horrible. I do remember tho, that Sims 3 kinda needed Nraas's command center too. xD Have to play the old ones again soon, they are all great in their own way imo. And I do kinda want a game which is a mix of 2, 3 and 4. 😆
@@LuvableCharlin I also wish these upcoming games strike fear into EA 🤣 I hope they really listen to the players, because that's good for them too. I used to play The Sims 3 on a 2GB laptop, so I know how annoying it was to wait the half and house loading screen, other than that I loved playing! You're right, each one of them are great in their own way 💖
The sims won't improve (or at least won't improve very much), nor will games with a younger fanbase, because there's plenty of kids with their mom's money who will buy anything, And no, it isn't okay if someone likes the sims 4 and buys it. It means they have low standards, and their willingness to support such a crap, fundamentally shallow product, is what makes EA make games like TS4. And do what they do in other games generally: nickeling and diming players for content that sometimes should've been in the base game. they probably are young if they like ts4, meaning they have no frame of reference to realize that TS4 is a turd.
I think the main issue of The Sims franchise is the lack of competition, like I stated in the video. As a monopoly they can do whatever they want and people will only have their option to buy. With competition things change a bit, I hope these upcoming games do justice to this game style, even tho they're very realistic, it's a competition nonetheless. People seemed to like Inzoi, let's see if there will be a game that scares EA 😅😅
@@fruiteast for example, I am very much looking forward to Paralives, but also aware that it won't be the Sims, but happily, after over 2 decades of Sims gaming, I'm ready for something a bit more casual. Plus, I am sure EA no longer wants my business (edit: or should I say, they are taking my business for granted while marketing elsewhere), instead they have been trying for the much younger market who really wouldn't want a Sims2 or 3, but rather someplace where they can play with their friends, collect stuff, take part in events and maybe do some fun life related things
@@SkyLightKey I get where you’re coming from, but I don't think it's fair to say 'it’s still fun' as if that applies to everyone, as fun is subjective. It’s not about outgrowing it, it’s about expecting more from it. I play TS2 when I want to have fun, the best sibling imo 💖
@@Eddie_eyes I'm more criticizing the lack of professionalism, like animations that don't loop and stop abruptly, a ton of bugs, that is, the way they made the game seems to be lacking passion. Unlike The Sims 2 that felt it was made with attention to detail. Mods or packs will not change what The Sims 4 is. I'm glad you enjoy the game, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, I prefer the TS2 and I play it when I want to have fun 💖
They added so much superficial sh!t but no depth and it's like being excited to eat a beautiful glowing red apple and then being disgusted because it tastes really bad
@@izeberamia Yeaahh, I hate when my Sim is cooking for the family and the family just grab something from the fridge or start cooking for themselves 🥴
That's why Sims Updater exists ahahah
i loved that in every career in sims 2 you had this weird job scenario in the middle of the day with a long text about a totally random situation at work. a full screen explanation of a wildly random scenario that was so thematically sims 2 that you couldn't make this shit up. and you only had two options how your working sim should react (both kind of nonsensical). but choosing one would get you promoted, the other one fired or even charged money. sometimes less severe. but it was totally random. this total randomness of everyday life combined with the extreme attention to detail (still better than the sims 4) made sims 2 so comforting. the sims 4 is more fun for people who want: "if you're willing to pay 1000 bucks for DLCs you can have the most perfect life and family ever". but it's not funny or entertaining at all.
i digged deeper in the employee situation at maxis after sims 2 and a lot of the creatives who made it special already left after sims 2 because EA became more and more greedy and controlling. really sad. those were the OGs who invented the iconic weirdness of The Sims
A good remake of The Sims 2 with the best features of The Sims 3, that's all we want
@@la912 that would be perfect 😍😍

The best thing about burglars in the Sims 3 was when the police arrived and the burglar casually walked out past the officer, while the officer came in to talk to your sim and just completely ignored the burglar.

You…you get it and I appreciate it 💀
@@dogofchaos 100%
What are you talking about? Past sims had depth and lore and fun yet challenging gameplay. Then with 4 it became dollhouse simulator (amazing customization, extremely lackluster gameplay), and now it's it's dollhouse simulator with dressings and sprinkles ontop. All surface level, no depth. But I can see how the adding new stuff is very cluttered and unorganized, because of the adding of the new dressings and sprinkles. At the very least, some of its optional..
Actually, for me, without open world I feel like there is nothing interesting to do.

As an autistic person it was nice in the sims 2 that the social bar was not the same for both sims.
It's the lack of muchness 😪 the mad hatter was right! I also hope they do start listening to the players, that would be a game changer for them!
When I make goth werewolf ranchers living in Sulani and watch this absolute nonsense on my screen, my heart fills with joy
Sometimes you gotta try find certain "connective points" in different packs.

Sims 3 is fun.
all The Sims are good for me, expect the 4 😅
My Sims are so tired from taking care of twin babies that they faint continously.

Well, being an online game that is always updating at least EA can still fix it one day 🥴
I miss The Sims 1 style. Enjoyable, serious, but also can be wacky. I am also willing to say The Sims 1 is also scary as Hell.
i really agree with ur points here even about the packs you mentioned being stale, unfunny compared to the Sims 2, however i really liked the knitting pack bc I'm a knitter so I'm kind of biased towards that pack so i gotta disagree on that example :,)
That's alright 💖 I think that if they added the parody and charm to the game, any pack would've been amazing to play!
The fart noise at the 2:50 mark had me 😂
fart noises are the best 🤣
Someone should make a mod where we can get atleast some of the TS2 cooking back
AGREED
First, I enjoyed your video
Secondly: I remember when Sims 3 came out, and I liked the the newness of the open world and build capabilities, but was wishing for improved graphics (which we did not get), but in the end, I just wanted the Sims 2 with more capabilities, building and better graphics.
(watched that trailer so many times btw)
I want that back.
You defined it very well 🤣🤣🤣
Very professional looking video! Great job
I'm glad you like it, thank you so much 💖💖
Okay, I totally didn't expect anyone to use a snippet out of a video made by me.
DLCs don't seem as fun as they used to 😓

for reaaal 😪
Yeaaaaaah
I mean you can still kidnap sims and force them to paint for you, kidnap sims and trap them in a tiny room with a bunch of other sims, etc.
This adds more possibilities to the stories, and makes it much more deeper 💖
sims 4 is genuinely so stressful now especially with all the baby stages and stuff

@thecozyintrovert: Actually, no, it wasn't.
@ well, that’s just like your opinion man.
The last point seems weird, Sims 4 was all humor at the start with only bizarre behavior
can someone tell me which sims is better? 2 or 3? I'm considering switching from 4 to either 2 or 3 but don't know which one is better
You hit the nail on the head. This is exactly what I've been saying
I miss the chaos

@@tonichan89 Yeahh, The Sims 4 is very broken, one patch is always trying to fix another 🥴
Ngl, I would HATE the Sims 2.
So true bestie

I love Sims 2 animations. It's also the most expressive game of the franchise, imo.
You can shave your legs? I never knew that. Not that I would lol, because I never moved on from Sims 2.
@@Charity322 You can also shave your arms 🤣🤣 and I went back to playing The Sims 2 after the disappointment!!
I do remember tho, that Sims 3 kinda needed Nraas's command center too. xD
Have to play the old ones again soon, they are all great in their own way imo.

@@to-nem-ai obrigada 💖
The sims won't improve (or at least won't improve very much), nor will games with a younger fanbase, because there's plenty of kids with their mom's money who will buy anything,
And no, it isn't okay if someone likes the sims 4 and buys it.
Plus, I am sure EA no longer wants my business (edit: or should I say, they are taking my business for granted while marketing elsewhere), instead they have been trying for the much younger market who really wouldn't want a Sims2 or 3, but rather someplace where they can play with their friends, collect stuff, take part in events and maybe do some fun life related things
...Is this an AI voice? Not judging, genuinely curious
@@JunmaiTanuki It's from capcut, people commented here encouraging me to use my real voice and I did, my last video has my voice 💖
@@fruiteast Okay, no problem! I'll check it out :)
After sims 2and 3 it became boring
Its still fun. You just outgrow it
@@SkyLightKey I get where you’re coming from, but I don't think it's fair to say 'it’s still fun' as if that applies to everyone, as fun is subjective. It’s not about outgrowing it, it’s about expecting more from it. I play TS2 when I want to have fun, the best sibling imo 💖
I disagree, the burglar is not funny its terrifying
terrifying was the stupid bunny from The Sims 2, THAT was terrifying 😅
I like the sims 4
just dont use mods or paid content? i dont and i love the game
