Paul, Heat can cook electrical or overheat other items near by. The starter solenoid with headers have a high failure rate. This is an easy cheap fix using a GM heat shield that clips on and sold by Rock Auto P/N 12668713 for $8.16 plus S&H and tax for the governor’s hot tub. That rear brake line should not be an issue but to shield it, fabricate a metal shield that attaches using the current bolt, just off set it about 3/4” away and weld a 4” sheet metal to extend 8” or so, perhaps with a bend to fit. Paint it high-temp silver to reflect heat & provide an air gap for cooler air between the header side and brake line union.
I hate to ask, but I am looking for the motor mount cup, bolted on engine side that allows a single bolt to pass thru w/nut in OEM style as found on 1973 & up V8’s.
My wallet has no room for the dirty dingo sliders and those eye pleasing tubular eyelet mounts, as my days as a Master Tech, dealer or otherwise is gone. This is my truck and researching products. At the dealer, bad part, get new part, GM or ACDelco box. This after market stuff is new to me. I can’t afford to paint it yet, but it’s better that this 6’3” guy getting into our car, 96 Geo Prizm my wife of 40+ years has no problem. Anyone who has the single bolt (5+ inches thru bolt type) cup that mounts to the block side is what I am looking for. I can get you some coin if you have one in your scrape pile. Cars are different I think as looking at Rock Auto for the frame side mount. I have a 67 C10 I got from my son as he quit his project, then winter came, he hit black ice and a tree jumped into the side of his 2003 Tahoe. He had it towed to my back yard and owing me for 4 cars of mine he totaled, including my Park Ave Ultra. What do you do? I am just asking as a tech to a tech. Thanks much as even the videos take work. I think I have watch most all. Very cool keeping the classic steel/iron on the road! Thanks for the efforts Paul, I wish I was next door to help do the wiring as I have factory schematics and taught 6 classes in electrical. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

Great content bro! So what did you end up using the third brake light for? And what about the reverse lights? I’m in the process of rewiring my 76. Using a speedway 22 circuit for the chassis but it doesn’t have any dedicated wires for reverse lights. I am using Dakota digital for dash and stand alone for engine. It’s been a pickle tying all three together while deleting the old wires and tube fuses
