This is the result of delaying a game and not being tied to a set in stone release date and having all these pressures from the higher ups. They were able to take their time with it and really put their heart and soul into this one. Looks amazing.

I don't think a lot of people are realising how much this game needs to succeed, not just for Halo but gaming in general. If we look at the landscape of gaming today, ESPECIALLY SHOOTERS, and just how saturated it is? Just how dull? Something has to give.
Nothing would make me happier than for this game to be that straw that breaks the camel's back, to finally revitalise a stagnating genre and inject something that's been sorely lacking. Competition and variety.
No other shooter nails the sweet spot of athleticism, competitive creativity and self-expression that Halo did. There isn't another Halo, and I hope to god it's as good as it looks.
Modern Warfare 2019 was a very good shooter that showed you could still do the 'brown/grey shooty game' well, Doom Eternal has done classic shooters single player very well, but on the multiplayer front there's been very little of those more classic shooters like Halo.

2 years since this came out and I am so happy where the state of the game is.. it unfortunately did come out with very little content but now has so much in it. Great job 343 team!

Halo just needed to stumble a bit to learn, realize and get back on track to show how great a franchise it is! It s totally ok to fall and hurt yourself. You only get stronger IF you finally learn and adapt for a even better future. If 343 didnt care for halo, there might never have been h4,5, infinite. Remember, the folks there are just humans. Bungie vets and mishmash of folks from other studios and even some with no studio affiliation background. 2 way communication with constructive critism. The other kind just makes sewer and then 343 wouldnt care anymore since whats the point? Understanding devotion and hard work from all sides is critical

Spartan Laser deletes 4 vehicles of your choosing, versus the one time use of the grappleshot Would also be interesting to see if there are ways to get someone who is grappling you off, such as rolling or maybe you can try to kill them before they hop on, kinda like Titanfall 2.

Best birthday I ever had was when I got both an Xbox 360 and halo 3 and I wouldn't shut up about the game for like a whole year. I bought the game guide book even though I didn't have it yet and looked at it every day. I hope this recaptures that same feeling I had then.
I was on my 1st high-school year, played a game with a classmate. Halo 1. He got halo 2 when it got out, we started playing it. Soon enough I got my own xbox and all halos now. Can't wait for this one either.

I grinded the season passes for MCC, and they said its gonna be similar, im looking forward to it. Battlepasses aren't inherently evil or bad, and God knows there 100 times better than buying lootboxes for a chance of getting something purple or gold rarity, triggering loads of dopamine keeping you buying. Hopefully they have armor that can be unlocked via challenges as well, but money is important.
The funny thing is... You can't even kill a person with a single shot of the banshee fuel rod Canon.... And in this trailer a bunch of guys where killed.
In reality... The banshee would have been killed by pistols and ARs before it could have fired a single round

Crazy how people are so stupid that they truly think that launching exactly how it is today would change the outcome for the better. People would have quit significantly faster.
People play FPS games for competition, especially when the multiplayer function is centric around skill, player verses player engagement, and especially when this series invented ranked matchmaking and tournament play in matchmaking.
We don't need to imagine it, we can look toward the past. Halo 4. The bulk reason why people stopped playing Halo 4 was the lack thereof things to do in the game, the attempt to "be like cod", and the lack of skill rank when it was promised. Hell, if anything, this symbolizes (further) that there is no audience for what the few thousand people in the "Halo Community" think defines Halo. They're a niche. The broader audience wants a basic competitive Halo, defined by Halo 1 - Halo 3, not a "casual" designation of Halo, defined by Halo Reach & Halo 4.

The art design in this game is amazing. This truly looks like the successor to the og Halo games in a modern era. I had to replay the last bit of the trailer with the slow-mo etc over and over. That samurai armor looks so badass. Reminds me of unlocking hayabusa armor back in the day

This game deadass looks like the natural evolution of the art style after reach. It’s as if 4 and 5 never happened and they’re picking up right where it left off. And, while I do like halo 4 quite a lot, I’m okay with this. It looks gorgeous

I’m super young so I never got to experience the OG halo games online and with multiplayer, only played halo 2 and stuff with my dad. I’m super excited to experience halo multiplayer for probably the first time, this gameplay looks sick.

I fully agree. The foundation was and has always been there within Halo Infinite. They just haven't worked on doing anything with it due to a checklist the Community kept throwing out. Hopefully, the future is bright as they shift away from "Community focus" onto the rest of the players.

Ah yes. A trailer that enticed competition and skill. That got 20,000,000 players to play the game and focus around that ranked playlist all to feel like it was entirely ignored so they quit. Now the game is in a better spot, still ignoring that one playlist but has 20 more non-competitive playlists that itch the craving for the selective few thousand that feel like 343 listened to them, meanwhile counter narratives are that "343 is incompetent" because they listened to them the "wrong way".
If Infinite followed through with the original intention and promise, there would have been numerous ranked playlists, an optimized and designed ranked progression solution, more balance catering toward classic gameplay, heavy meta shifts that gravitate toward unique gameplay each year, and a continuous flow of competition across each spectrum of playlists.
Sure, the people who wanted "what we have now" could have kept playing MCC (because that's what they were playing). But the other 20,000,000 would have stayed.
Instead, we got the alternative reality, where the game focused around "party" and "social", which in turn, lead to the catastrophic failure that was this entry. The Community is so absurdly crazy that they think the real problem was the "game engine" (despite the failure of the game not being related to any game engine). It's like they didn't look at splitgate and go "Oh, Halo with portals but all social and no competition. They tried to add competition into the game to attract audiences but the game was foundationally boring because it was a party centric custom game in matchmaking. And it failed."

Honestly I am way more okay with this. Gravity hammer is a power weapon that’s arguably worse than the sword and giving it a ground pound from Halo 5 makes sense and seems balanced to me.

I don't care what anyone else says, the actual gameplay of Halo Infinite is incredible. I have so much fun when I am actually playing the game. Yes it needs a lot more content, features are still missing, and there are a lot of things that need changed. However when you are actually in a match, it is one of the best Halo MP experiences in my book.
I completley agree. I feel like people get angry at 343 just to be angry at them sometimes. The game is good, look past its cons and focus on the pros.

@@civiccc cons: 1. lack of content: it’s missing game modes like infection, grifball and some fun arcade game modes, although it’s definitely far better than it was at launch it’s still got a long way to go 2. Bad servers: lagging on an FPS is the worst and most frustrating thing, but they’ve recently let you select what region you play in which has helped a lot with the latency, still not perfect but an improvement for sure. I cant think of anymore cons at the top of my head but let’s go to the pros: 1. Gameplay: the gun play and movement in this game is the best it’s ever been in halo! It’s so simple yet fluid, it’s perfect and I truly believe it is, it’s just really fun to play. 2. The weapons and equipment: the weapons for the most part feel balanced, there’s the odd few weapons that you avoid like the plague because they’re dreadful but you’ll never feel like it’s an unfair match. The new weapons are really interesting and fun to use once you get used to them, the shock rifle and the skewer are some of my favourite weapons to use now. The equipment is also very good, they all feel balanced and they all come in handy depending on the situation, the best one is the grapple hook imo. There’s more pros like the great campaign this game has, custom game lobbies on user created maps/user created modes, forge etc. there’s definitely more pros than cons to this game imo.

Holy shit I'm genuinely surprised by how crisp & fluid everything looks (even if it's just a gameplay trailer) but it seems as though it still has a classic feel but more fast paced and different and I'm all for that. Halo has been a staple for many peoples childhoods and i just truly hope this game succeeds as we've all had so many amazing memories with Halo 🙏
Yeah, I can see a more Quake/UT flavor. Not that it's bad at all. It's going to change the gameplay dynamically and gonna add more creativity to it too. Halo's going back to it's CE roots. It will definitely be epic.
