Tip from an old man who existed back when those f keys existed: shift + [f key] = f13 thru 24. So shift f1 is f13 and so on. So for those without a streamdeck this might be useful to you.
@@SloRush That's a good question. I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards probably not because the Streamdeck software is looking for a Streamdeck device to be attached to your computer. I guess it depends on your use case, but I just tried setting a [shift+f] key in the hotkeys settings in OBS. I doesn't recognize it as [f13-24], it just sees it as [shift+f1-12]. Then again, you can use any key combination you want as long as another application doesn't already have that combination set up.

This is the only productive StreamDeck video I have found. Congrats bro! I am a water resources engineer, and I run 7 to 8 apps simultaneously; I am afraid that ElGato people have not yet realized the gem they have under their noses. And they will continue to underutilize this nifty gadget until someone builds one that covers all bases across disciplines. There is so much untapped potential. This could literally run and manipulate multiple ASCII scripts with little work, just to mention something. I can't believe that Notepad is not part of the main menu. There are so many smart but computer illiterate people out there that could do so much with this thing; it is mind-boggling!
“Multi Action” is for automating a sequence of steps which is why there is a delay. One use is for data entry. E.g. go here, fill this out, hit tab 3 times, hit enter. For simultaneous actions, changing that delay globally is an interesting approach. Adding “delay” actions and setting them to 0 ms might override that global setting. May be worth a try.
Just got the XL, integrating Home Assistant is by far the most powerful home automation integration. I have it turning off/on lights, can open/close my garage door, tell me temperature sensors, control my home air conditioner, etc. Since HA itself can control anything, that means just one integration to the Stream Deck can then read/control anything. I am using AutoIT scripts like I previously mentioned. Using those for work where if I press a key and Outlook or Teams is already open, it brings it to focus. If it's not open it launches it. Rather than only moving or only launching like the built in native apps. If This Than That as been around a long time, and it "works" but is not as good as many new things, and it requires cloud/internet while these other ways can be 100% local and work without cloud services or even working internet.

If you use SHIFT it gives you access to F13-24 on a normal keyboard e.g. Shift+F1 = F13. When working on certain servers at work I often times have to use some of those keys for system functions. For your "in focus" issue mentioned, I would use AHK or my preference AutoIT and just write a script WinActivate(OBS.exe) Send("[F13]") As I am going thru your videos now, I see that you like to use creative solutions to maximize the capabilities of the SD, as much as the app store and plugins have grown, nothing will give you more power than learning a bit of code for AutoIT or AHK and using the SD to summon those scripts. I have had a hotkey for windows move for a decade, and I also have one that moves my mouse cursor to center, as sometimes I lose that sucker on a multi monitor setup. Same for your multi-action delays you can get any of those sub 1ms and have them execute as fast as the computer can possibly run them. If there is anything in particular you wish it could do, hit me up and I'll see if I can help. I just ordered the SD today so I will be starting to mess with it.
Suggestion for the multi-action issue: create your macro using something like AHK and bind that to trigger off one of the F13-F25 keys. Then bind your streamdeck to that function key.

I came back to watch this! I was streaming with Streamlabs for years but since they whole fiasco happened a while back, I stopped using it. Well, that and the times I tried streaming with OBS like a year ago, for some reason it would completely freeze my computer... Either way, my main app has been OBS for like 6 months now and... NO ISSUES! 👏 I promised myself I would come back and watch all of your OBS plugin & StreamDeck vids again 😁
Shit I lived through the era of so many Function keys & totally thought they were a thing of the past! You just helped me reclaim my numpad that I was using for Snap Camera filters! And mover & resizer is pretty great since I'm using OBS, Chatty, Snap Camera, Voicemeeter Banana, Lioranboard, and Gifbot-R to run my stream. Fixing that multi-action delay via regedit is a godsend too, I thought Streamdeck was just limited by my 3 year old PC. I used to run stuff for my garage streaming setup years ago via IFTTT just from my PC. Didn't know there was a Streamdeck plugin, I might have to return to that sorta setup. Nice tips! If you have a GoXLR you can make "killswitch" button: a multi-action that will set the GoXLR profile to "Sleep" and force shutdown your PC without any annoying dialogs.
I wouldn't even say "Streaming" product. It's amazing for gaming. There are so many games with dozens or hundreds of key bindings. I'm thinking Star Citizen. It's amazing. Great for word processors and video/photo editing apps.

im a game developer, i use it as a shortcut bar for photoshop, aseprite, unity and a few other softwares so now when im drawing on my huion i have the streamdeck next to it instead of a wide keyboard
I've been looking at the Stream Deck as a fun gadget, there are more ways to get extra keys and macros where you get more keys for less money. But the Windows mover and resizer is a must have feature for my work. I do programming, editing and other stuff during my day job and always keep moving windows back and forth. So now I need to buy one and the big question left is if I go for the 15 key version or wait a few weeks for the XL to be back in stock ... I will be using it for my electronics works (programming/debugging microcontrollers), video editing (Davinci) and most likely also for hotkeys in Gimp and Inkscape so I think I'll wait for a few weeks. Bigger is better :-)
One thing I found REALLY convenient to do with it, is like you say, moving the window EXACTLY where I like it with 1 press, but I set up a toggle multi-action. So, I open the program, 1 button moves it just where I want and then a second press minimizes it. In my case, the one that places it, also pins it on top using Desk Pins, but I think that may be a really niche use case, because there is a part of the screen in the software I use that I can't make go away without ALSO losing some controls that I do need, so I am overlapping the windows to make best use of my real-estate.
After some use the stream deck ended up in my pile of gadgets that looked great but are not good for me. Reason for this is that there is an annoying difference between the tactile click of the keys and the actual "key" press. It happens too often that I feel the click, release the key and nothing happens. I find that I need to press to hard on the key (much harder than I need to press the keys on my keyboard) to trigger the action. But I do really miss some of the functions so I might give it a try again some day

Not sure what orientation you use yours in, but laying mine flat instead of using the stand and pressing the key firmly, like I'm trying to annoy my little sister by jabbing her in the ribs seems to work fine. And it just saves me too much time to ignore, even if I did have a lot of non-press issues. I was able to reduce the time needed to perform an action that I do many dozens of times a day, by 80-90% as the single press activates a series of hotkeys, mouse clicks, etc.
I started watching this, honestly not expecting to see anything new that I've not seen / learned elsewhere. BUT...the very first thing you talked about, the extra hotkeys, made me subscribe! I have different voices set up via OBS (I don't have money to pay extra for voice mod, and the freebie voices I'm not a fan of). But it required me going into my audio filters in OBS any time I wanted to use them, because I couldn't figure a way to set it up on the Streamdeck. So thank you!!!! Also, added the Twitch Tools, for the shoutout function. (The giveaway one still doesn't help me, since I want my subscribers to have extra luck...so guess I'm sticking with Nightbot for that).

So I would like to have some profiles, I use in different scenes (for example profiles with my most favorite emojis or with my light control). You can do the same home automation by using X10 modules. They pre-date "smart plugs" by some decades and should still be on the market. They use the home's electrical wiring as transceivers to control the state of whatever electronics thing you have attached to them. Open/close curtains, blinds, turn on/off lights, TVs, stereos, lawn/garden watering systems, fans, coffee makers, etc. When you get a standalone command center it can be programmed by your computer and then save those commands before unplugging it from your PC. Or just use the command station without ever connecting it to you computer.
I've been looking for the color saturation and contrast adjustments but I can't seem to find it in the software. It seems the default settings are very washed out where Reds look like Browns and yellows look like whites. Is there a way to adjust the color so that they look like they look in the demonstration videos?
I have a Razer keyboard and using their synapse software I can reprogram any of my keys to F13-F24 by holding th FN key and clicking the designated key, if that makes sense lol
OK so I've gone from taking forever to prepare my stream to doing it all at the push of one button. Here's what the button does: Turns on my Keylights Starts NVidia broadcast & VM Banana Opens TH-cam studio Opens SNAZ timer Opens OBS and switches to Streaming In: timer scene while muting mic and starting slideshow Repositions all windows ready for input I no longer need a checklist, it's all in front of me ready to rock!
Is it possible to move docks like the chat dock? and is it possible to let it switch from being integraded in obs to be a own window and the other way round?

You can use other services other then IFTTT that dont charge. IFTTT charges after something like 2 devices. I forget. You can use anything that lets you se a webhook. I use mine with Home assistant.
With Window Mover, can I have it move multiple Chrome windows, or can it not tell which window is which. MultiAction - So thats the issue, I could not figure out why the countdown would not align with the video I was playing. It's the delay. Has it gotten any better or should I still do the regedit. StreamDeck app or Companion - I am trying to do some complicated multiactions should I switch to Companion?

I think you can still use it as an obs hockey. So you could use the shift f instead of a streamdeck

So I would like to have some profiles, I use in different scenes (for example profiles with my most favorite emojis or with my light control). In that profiles I would like to have a Botton "jump back to last profile".
I know, how to jump to a specific profile, but how to jump to the previous ones?

You can do the same home automation by using X10 modules. They pre-date "smart plugs" by some decades and should still be on the market. They use the home's electrical wiring as transceivers to control the state of whatever electronics thing you have attached to them. Open/close curtains, blinds, turn on/off lights, TVs, stereos, lawn/garden watering systems, fans, coffee makers, etc. When you get a standalone command center it can be programmed by your computer and then save those commands before unplugging it from your PC. Or just use the command station without ever connecting it to you computer.

I've been looking for the color saturation and contrast adjustments but I can't seem to find it in the software. It seems the default settings are very washed out where Reds look like Browns and yellows look like whites. Is there a way to adjust the color so that they look like they look in the demonstration videos?

I have a Razer keyboard and using their synapse software I can reprogram any of my keys to F13-F24 by holding th FN key and clicking the designated key, if that makes sense lol

OK so I've gone from taking forever to prepare my stream to doing it all at the push of one button. Here's what the button does:
Turns on my Keylights
Starts NVidia broadcast & VM Banana
Opens TH-cam studio
Opens SNAZ timer
Opens OBS and switches to Streaming In: timer scene while muting mic and starting slideshow
Repositions all windows ready for input
I no longer need a checklist, it's all in front of me ready to rock!
Is it possible to move docks like the chat dock? and is it possible to let it switch from being integraded in obs to be a own window and the other way round?

You can use other services other then IFTTT that dont charge. IFTTT charges after something like 2 devices. I forget. You can use anything that lets you se a webhook. I use mine with Home assistant.

With Window Mover, can I have it move multiple Chrome windows, or can it not tell which window is which.
MultiAction - So thats the issue, I could not figure out why the countdown would not align with the video I was playing. It's the delay. Has it gotten any better or should I still do the regedit.
