In fairness, the number of people who are going to plug two keyboards into the same computer is so small that I can't see this ever becoming a feature.
I opened up Hardware Manager to see if it wasn't already a thing, and I don't really understand why Windows thinks I have 12 keyboards plugged in at once. As the years go by, I understand why people switch to Linux because if there's a feature you want then there's a chance someone else has crafted a module already, or you could built it yourself, but I'm not ready to commit to that kind of brain leap yet.

Thank you so much. It took a lot of time to setup each key but it's really useful. Even for basic hotkeys like hiding and showing something in OBS, you could use hotkeys inside OBS but with SteamerBot I can add more functionality. Like playing a sound when i mute my microphone and stuff.

You don't need these programs. In OBS theres a funktion for the Keyboard Shortcuts, so you can make the same only using OBS. That's the way i did it. Set keyboard shortcuts in OBS directly, and you have a stream Deck directly.

In case anyone gets stuck after the .vbs script isn't working. This is what I did to solve it.
In streamer bot, go to Servers/Clients > Then go to HTTP Server > Click Start Server (Make sure Port is 7474).
The reason this happens is because the action created with the bat file is trying to connect to streamer bot using HTTP but the server isn't open... so what happens is nothing.

So I have a question, wIth your other method you could've able to Toggle mute/unmute your own mic. But where is the option in the actual one?. All the other ones works really well, great job!

I know this video is pretty old now, but I found something a little weird with version 2.3 of HIDMacros, granted, my use case is a bit unusual.
I use a MIDI controller to control my volume levels in VoiceMeeter, and in this specific use case, using a MIDI controller on top of a keypad, trying to run MIDI software on top of HIDMacros will cause it to error out and hang. This is because HIDMacros asks for exclusive access to the MIDI port.
The easiest way to solve this (if anyone else is having this problem) is to use version 2.2 since this version does not connect MIDI controllers.

Hi Nutty! You used a wireless num-pad, right? Can we use a presentation clicker? Or a numpad + presentation clicker?
I followed everything to a tea and the node is not working, for some reason the vbs files do not function. I can use streamerbot to change scenes and any other action I make, its when I run the build that it stops working on macros. Im not sure whats going on or how to fix it so if anyone does know please fill me in about it because it was working just fine until node updated.

well I am into the freedom to make the macropad do anything not just a streaming deck. so I wonder if I can reprogram the keys in the keyboard to have different set buttons such as pressing on F is not really an F without having a software running in the background? then use Autohotkey to make the button do anything and make it do specific task such as open TH-cam or play a music, or open a specific folder or it only affect specific window in such a way that the button would work only if photoshop is running.

I feel like a much simpler solution is to use Windows' hidden function keys F13-F24... you'd need autohotkey to map them but could uninstall after that. But I'm not sure if streamerbot supports f13-24 though

I get and Error from Windows Script Host, when i try to run the vbs file with HIDMacros.
And The Second Keyboard is still typing numbers as the main keyboard.
i have tried this and when i use the num pad on my main keyboard it works no issues, however, when i run the usb num pad it doesnt work and only acts as a num pad. Any thoughts on what im doing wrong or what step i missed.

Q: I can successfully get everything to run well until I close the HID macros. Then the next time I open HID macros it won't trigger unless I re-find the .vbs file with 'run application' , then it works fine. Is it not saving? am I missing something obvious? Nothing seems to change if I run as administrator, neither does changing the commands at every step to one word phrases.
I am willing to pay (one time) for a software that does this but hate it that this is the way to go and there is no easier way.

if you want icons on your keys you can just get "relegendable" keycaps which are just 2 parts caps with a base and a cover and you can put a printed piece of paper under the cap for like $5 for 10 caps.
But then if you change them and not use one anymore, you just wasted money

I have 2 question for you. Can you double the keys by using the num lock? And could you add ( shift or ctl plus number ) to make even more shortcuts?
You can use the numlock, but not the combo as far as I've tested

Пробовал блютуз нампад - время от времени слетал идентификатор и клавиатура начинала печатать :(

Troubleshoot I found after fiddling around for 5 minutes: when you restart the HID Macros program after closing it, the program goes back to filtering for Applications, instead of all files. To fix this, just go back into one of your key binds and readjust the "run application" command to filter for all files

For Spanish keyboard users, HID Macros is unusable since it turns accents into double accents (for example when you wanna write "á", HID Macros comes into play making you type "´´a").
In case you're having this issue, my recommendation is this: get a Corsair keyboard that's compatible with iCue. With iCue you can launch programs by pressing keys on the Corsair keyboard and it won't be picked up by the pc as the main keyboard, but as a 2nd one. Main keyboard funtions won't be triggered.

The cheapest Corsair keyboard I could find that's compatible with iCue is the K55. It's a membrane keyboard so customization is not possible but it still works :D

nice tutorial but when I try to open Streamer.Bot in the unzipped folder it just doesn't open, do you know how to fix it?
so as far as i can tell I did everything right ..... but the file is not triggering streamerbot.... was there and update that broke something?
So I set this up and it works as intended outside of games! But, when I'm actually *in* a game, my macro no longer works. Tabbing out gets them working again, but if I'm focused on the game then it doesn't. Anyone know a workaround for this?

im still having problems with the keys. one time it works but the next it doesnt. it still has problems with registering "same macros" eventhough im pretty sure i didnt use the same key. even if im done with it, the moment i close hid macros, they lose all the functionality
Thank you! I set up everything but with streamlabs instead. Ive encountered 1 issue. When I start to record in streamlabs, the Macros seem to stop working and the Ghetto streamdeck stops working. Then i have to end the recording, close HID Macros and Streamlabs and reopen them both to get the macros working at all. But recording makes it stop working everytime. Has anyone experienced this or have any solutions to keep the macros working while recording?
Isnt there a way to trigger the action from the SB Stream Deck with a keyboard key? Dont know whether this was understandable. :)
And second question, does this way understand the different between the two times 1, 2, 3, ... on a keyboard? Maybe a stupid question, dont know.
Streamer.bot does not know the difference between a "1" on your main keyboard and a "1" on your numpad.
This could interfere with your games that might be using that key.
For that reason, you need HID Macros.
Hey dude, I'm just looking to program 4-5 keys of my keyboard (they keyboard itself has no macro feature) to trigger a sequence. For example if I press F1 it should hold down CTRL while pressing W,S,D,W and possibly do it not too fast. I'm not a streamer. I just want to use it ingame for Helldivers 2. I tried Autohotkeys but it didnt work, then wrote a small script with Python (with the help of chatGPT lol) and it works but not in game lol...Looking for another way. Do you know how?

Maybe. There is a MIDI subgroup under the Core group within Sub-Actions. You're limited to Control Change, Generic Event, and Note On, so it's gonna depend on what your needs are. I've never messed with MIDI, but it's there.
its an awesome idea but my only question is would this work on something like the Megalodon 3 knob macro pad? reason being is that it has built-in 4 different profiles and the macro pad is kinda a pain to set up, also the fact that some of the function like opening programs is clunky.

You shouldn't need to be setting hotkeys in Streamerbot. You just use that to set up Actions and Sub-Actions, then convert those into the files using the batch script. HID Macros is where you set up your hotkeys and put the file in. Once you have your file, inside HID Macros you want to go to the Macros tab, and look in the Edit Macro section, then the Action section. In there are two tabs, predefined and scripted. You want to be on Predefined, and place your vbf script in the Run Application field (and make sure it is checked).
My num pad is being detected as a 2axis 8button controller not a separate keyboard. any idea why?

The only fault I see to this is that you can only add as many commands as you have keys available, which if you're using an entire keyboard might be more than enough tbh but if you only have the num pad, it seems pretty limited.
But other than that, I think this is a very cool replacement for stream deck! Thanks for making this video :D

@@nuttylmao It's still better than nothing! Besides, I doubt that streamers who have to resort to things like this for their streams have to have a lot of commands. I personally just have like 3 or 4 scenes max so even with just a num pad this works perfectly for me!

hid macros is giving me the error "80070002" means, the sistem cant find the file... but "Camera.vbs" is there.... i dont understand please help. nvm it just fixed itself. maybe restarting the pc? reinstaling the program
I had the same issue at first. I skipped the part where you install Node.JS and it caused issues. After fixing that I could run the vbs but not through HID Macros. Deleting and re-adding the application corrected it for me. If I had to bet cash on it, I'd say it's a cache issue where if you run it once and it buggers up, it will still try to parse that bad data on subsequent runs until you close it and re-open it.
when i close HIDMacros and then open it again i found that i always have reselect which application it runs. Is that supposed to happen?
