After watching this a bunch, I realized something. Daphne is the smartest person in her family. The parents can’t relate to her as much because they have average intelligence just like Zoe. Daphne used reasoning to figure out her parents favor Zoe in the first place. She doesn’t study and still gets average grades. Zoe has to study a WHOLE LOT to get good grades. If I studied like that, I’d have graduated from college at age 10. Daphne reads super fast (they should get her a library card, honestly, but I’d rather buy my kid a thousand books than one laptop). Only someone not too bright would suggest a child to “read slower” like it’s something she can control. Either way, reading quickly is a sign of intelligence. Their parents are wrong to favor one child over the other. They should be proud of Daphne. She probably needs more of a challenge in school to even bother studying, therefore she may need gifted classes. No one in her family understands her because she’s gifted and not average like Zoe. She certainly shouldn’t have more chores. The chores should be equal, and Zoe should learn to manage her time.

I completely understand how Daphnie feels. I’m sorry but I’m completely on Daphnie’s side. My sister has always been the favorite because she’s the smart and pretty one. I have Autism and I’ve always had a weight problem and I never met the beauty standards. So I completely understand what Daphnie is going through.
I hate to say this from personal experience with someone I know but there is one of many possibilities is going to fall into a life of drugs and crime, and when the parents and sister realizes what is happening to the youngest of their family, it would be too late.

By the way, I actually think Daphne might be smarter than Zoe. Zoe gets great grades because she studies and studies while Daphne gets average grades without really trying. Her parents could brag to others about how fast Daphne reads for gods sake. She’s probably really smart, but she doesn’t like studying. I get that 100%.

I feel like It's just a habit the parents and sister have at this point. When they see Daphne making a decision on something they immediately are critical, and feel like they have to "discipline" her. Not good parenting.

I can definitely see why Zoey is the favorite child when you compare Zoey and Daphne. However, I agree that Daphne should be loved more. But I can also see how Daphne isn't favored bc of her jealousy.
Daphine is suffering because she feels unloved. Like when her mom bought a cup just for Zoe it clearly shows they don’t love her it make sense that Daphine told her mum she was adopted
