- I didn’t have any allergies until I was 16. But last year, I developed an illness called “cold urticaria”, or cold allergy. When I say cold, I don’t just mean cold weather during winter. I’m allergic to all types of cold, including ice cream. I even have to sleep while wearing socks on hot summer nights. I’m pretty sure you’ll be shocked to hear of all the things I’ve been through.

Unfortunately, it does not always disappear, just like that. Actually, in most cases, it never goes away. I got it when I was 14. I am now 40 and still have it.

My son was diagnosed at 5 and he's 9 now. We hope he will grow out of it but I know a lot of people that still have it into adulthood. It doesnt always go away and can even get worse as you grow older. 😔

Girl, I actually have an even worse condition. It's called "Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency", or G6PD for short. It means my red blood cells will breakdown from eating specific foods, most significantly, fava beans. My family learned about it during my baby scanning. I'm not allowed to eat blueberries, peanuts, fava beans, and soy beans.

I'm allergic to dust, fat fish, shrimps, eggs and cold.. Although my cold allergy is not as severe as this! My face doesn't really react to cold, and I need to be outside during winter for a while for my skin to react, and I can't bathe in cold water. I can also, thankfully, eat ice cream without anything happening. The allergy I hate the most actually, is the egg allergy. Luckily I have never experienced asthma and breathing prblems in relation to my allergies, only urticaria

I suffer from this allergy since last year and it’s actually difficult to believe, specially when you have spent the whole of your life in the ocean and now you can’t even touch it .

Oh god!!! If anyone would be like me you would understand how bad it feels! Im allergic to dust, when i sniff a little dust i start sneezing and felling cold...it wouldnt stop untill i drink warm tea or coffee but sometimes it wouldnt stop with coffe or tea

Usually when they have a special condition in these videos they find it out really quickly. This one is an exception.
I just developed this allergy a few months ago. I figured it out myself a few weeks after getring the hives as i noticed it was whenever i was in cold enviroments. Thank god its not severe. I can still eat icecream, although it irritates my mouth slightly..i still eat it lol. It gets me most in the gym and in supermarkets.
Someone in my class is allergic to the cold but mostly only gets hives when she is in cold water

I also have cold urticaria, I’ve had it for 3 years and I am currently 14 years old. When I get the red spots they don’t itch as much as you’ve explained it. But when I eat ice cream my lips just swell and get big, nothing happens to my throat thankfully! When I first got it I was coming home from walking my dog and it was a bit chilly, I saw red spots all of myself and told my parents as they thought it was measles but shouldn’t be since I’ve had the shot. We went to the doctor and got diagnosed with cold urticaria. As I’ve had it for three years I’ve been really insecure going swimming bc I get spots all of myself and it takes 15mins to go away when I’m in the sun again, mine is a bit different as I can still go into the water and not be itchy but feel really cold with spots. I’m pretty much done with this and can’t wait until it goes away! I’m glad I heard ur story as I can relate !!

I have three allergies, and they are all common, I even remember some of how my pollen allergy happened,
One fall day we were getting apples, I was told to take our dog outside, of course I felt a very bad itch in my eyes, but I never thought much of it, until, I could barely breath, when my Nana told me I was allergic to it, I almost cries my eyes out, but when I see this video, it reminds me about the other allergies in the world(I forgot irl until I watched this)

I have it to I got diagnosed when I was 13 and my first reaction was when I was 12. I break out in temperatures below 70 degrees fahrenheit. To make this even worse I live in the MIDWEST I haven’t had it in the winter yet but I am so scared that something is going to happen during school.
Oh man... I’m 27yr old man and just randomly started this exact allergy. This really suck since I live in Canada 🇨🇦. I have no idea how I’ll go through life like this as my job requires me to be outside 70% of the time.
There are always solutions, like putting on more layers of clothing , use specific medications to calm the allergies during the cold , or try your best to be warm .
My sis also lives in Canada and has the same thing

I feel you, I have a disability too. It's not as bad as yours, but I do have a disability, I have mobility issues. A few weeks ago I was taking the bus for the first time and I sitting down, and a lady was asking people to make room for other people. I didn't get up and the woman was a little ticked off. As soon as the passengers were getting off the bus, she moved toward me and asked if I was disabled, and I said yes and I had to explain myself, which I never had to do before. When I got off the bus, there were two women with a baby, they felt bad for me because I had to explain myself to that woman who asked me if I was disabled.

if i was allergic to cold my whole life would be very hard because I LOVE the cold
I actually have cold urticaria and only a few cases are this severe. I can go into snow but I also have to come inside and warm up quickly. My biggest nightmare is gym class because I go from being super sweaty and it gets cooled by the air conditioning. My classmates are always so confused on why my face is so red.

I remember that when I was 7 and I went to school in the school's cab, for a while for soem unkown reason I kept throwing up! Eventualy we found out that I was allergic to an air freshener which the driver used. But it never made any sense to me because the air freshener was orange flavoured but I was eating oranges every day and never had any reaction. Now I understand that it was probably soem chemical inside the air freshener.
