The bike looks as if swings back and forth easily. How do you prevent it from hitting the car? I tried mine today and it did the same thing - I did not dare to drive off!
I have the same one and the straps had gotten detached and like a fool thought it was broken. After watching this I was able to make sense the straps are identical in each side just put one side through the trunk and presto ! Duh. Lol. Am happy now.
It can, I have a large scratch on my car because my pedal rotated while driving. I try and keep my front pedal up, so it's not rubbing against the bumper. If you have some ties, secure the pedal from moving.

I usually put Velcro on the moving parts (wheel and pedals) to prevent them from moving. You can also just use the straps since they're sooo long (this is the unused part that keeps dangling. It's too late if you've already cut them)
Shouldn't those bottom feet that move and are angled, the black rubber moving pieces, they should be centered and resting on the truck inself? Correct?? NOT resting on your bumper....? That's the only thing I'm not 100% sure on?!? Thanks for the help man!
When he shows the manual, you can see the diagram showing it resting on the bumper. I've heard this on comments a couple times, where is everyone getting the idea that its NOT supposed to be resting on the bumper?
Cutting the excess amount off the straps is a BAD idea. It may prevent you from using the bike rack on a different car because the straps may not be long enough.

One advice for you , the long straps go inside the orifices of the core tube . I own the same rack .
Fact. I have the same rack too. I stuff mine in there and also knot it right at the clamps.

Bike Straps: wind them in a ball and push them in the hole from the tube in the middle. They fit perfectly in there.
What a production! You don't want to be doing this a few times every week.

you should tie off the excess strap nylon because it can scratch your car when it's whipping around while you're going down the freeway
Did it scratch up your car after using it for while? Do the attachment have rubber on them to protect the paint?
Doesn't this scratch the paint ? Where they hold in each point? I can see that's metal. Surely it will damage the paint, by the looks of it

Actually looking at step 4 i think it means to say be sure to tie off the cord for extra security instead of do not do that. Great video otherwise!
