Good Video. I was hesitant in buying this bike rack for my new 2024 Acura Integra. I even called Saris and they even actually discouraged me in buying the product (Kind of strange) but after seeing this video, the rack makes the Clerance over my small spoiler. I did visit a bike shop that had one, that was missing a part, but we tried it on to see if it would fit and make the clearances, which it did and with no problem. And this video made me more confident in buying the product. Good Job and great demonstration. Only one that made me feel uncomfortable in buying the product was Saris Customer Service. Again..STRANGE!!

I wasnt sold on the last few seconds where it was in motion. The rubber feet seemed to be moving around an awful lot and in some cases bouncing. Makes me worried about my paintwork?
Unfortunately, with trunk mounted bike racks the amount of movement is going to be determined by how tight the holding straps are and how many bikes are loaded on the rack. In this video the straps should have been adjusted after driving for a bit. I always recommend when using a trunk mounted bike rack, if you make a pit stop at a gas station or to stop for lunch to give each of the straps a quick tug to make sure they are tight. The rack has rubber coated hooks and rubber feet to protect your trunk from facing any damage. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
Very well and clearly presented. Made my day. Thanks a million. i will go to your site and purchase the bar and strap for the the front tire. Thanks once again. Bincreased.
Installing an e-bike on a trunk mounted bike rack would destroy the rack, probably damage the vehicle and result in the loss of the bike as you're traveling down the road. The Saris # SA803 Bones bike rack has a 35 lb per bike capacity. You'll need to install a hitch and use a high capacity rack like the Hollywood Racks SE2, part # HLY84FR. If you can remove the batteries and reduce each bike's weight to 80 lbs or less, this rack would work great for you. If you'd care to reply with the year/make/model vehicle, I'd be happy to recommend a hitch for you. www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-Racks/Hollywood-Racks/HLY84FR.html
Hi. I have a Bones EX 3-bike. I understand that the maximum weight capacity for this is 105 lbs at 35 lbs per bike. I was wondering if I can use a single bike weighing 70lbs on it without any problem.
The weight capacity is based off of evenly distributed weight on the bike rack. Each bike cannot weight more than 35 lbs. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
They are both great trunk mounted bike racks! The Saris Bones EX 3 fits a little better over more vehicles that have spoilers on the trunk. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
Hi, per the manufacturers specs they only allow 35lbs per bike. If you want or need something that can hold a heavier bike you would need to move into the hitch mounted bike rack territory. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
@@etrailer I see. Yeah, I reached out to them too but haven't heard back yet. I just figured the rack may have an overall payload limit as opposed to per bike. 1 60lb bike + 1 30lb bike is still 90lb which is less than the 35x3 lb limit. But maybe it doesn't work that way.
You can, but you'll need a frame adapter like # 64005 to carry the bike level. The adapter is mentioned in the video. If you'll be frequently carrying bikes, using a hitch mounted rack is usually a better option. Many hitch racks will also allow you to access the rear trunk or hatch while the rack is installed, because you shouldn't open the trunk or hatch with a trunk mount rack installed. If you'd reply with a description of your bikes, as well as how many you want to carry and the year/make/model vehicle, we'd be happy to recommend a hitch/rack setup for you. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
I am contemplating to buy one to carry atleast two bikes. I drive VW Passat. My big question to be sold is I have an upcoming drive of 600+ miles and will this rack work over long distance interstate speeds?
Saris does not state a speed restriction for this bike rack. We have had people use this bike rack year round and love it. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html
We have not confirmed if the Saris Bones EX 3 will fit the Seat Leon. If you have a good place for the hooks to clip onto and the feet to rest flat on the rear, then you should be just fine. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Saris/SA803.html

Would you recommend this or the Thule Gateway Pro trunk mount rack?

I have purchased the Saris Bones EX and was wondering how much of the center spline should extend past the setting legs? Th
I would make sure there is a bit of the center piece sticking out when adjusting the legs.
